This Wawa is normally okay but today I had a less than stellar experience. The barista made me a macchiato that was fully mixed. No separation between the layers of milk and coffee. My fiance politely asked her if she could make another one that had layers. (I'm aware macchiatos and lattes have the same ingredients but I drink them separately with a straw)She explained they are the same, yada yada but she agrees to make a new one. I keep the old drink in my hand since it will be thrown out anyways and for now being late for church I figured it would be okay to keep it as a consolation prize.. She points out while she's making the new drink that the macchiato mixes itself and that's why it's not coming out right. This of course is not true. I was a barista for a long time. She's just not making it properly. I kept that to myself and just smiled and said okay.. I accept the new drink that looks the same as the old one. No separation again but no big deal. We politely thank her but she tries to take the old drink from me. I was trying to taste the two to see which one id like to keep since they were both mixed up anyways.. she then explains again that they mix themselves so I just mentioned "oh well, normally the macchiato is separated when I get it." She then rudely turns her back and says she'll have another employee make it then. I said it wasn't necessary and she just kind of walked off so I assumed that meant keep the old drink?? I was just left confused and feeling bad for no reason.. I just wanted what I ordered and thought I could keep the first drink since it would be tossed.. IDK if she was defensive because the drink was made wrong and I called her out or if she was annoyed I was tasting the old drink to figure out which one I wanted to keep. Normally when Wawa messes up the drink they let you keep it for your trouble. And normally they aren't defensive about it and explaining they "aren't making it wrong" Maybe she was having a bad day but it just felt odd. Especially when I always get macchiatos and they always come out correctly. I will avoid this barista from now on cause it just seemed like she was mad at me, even when I was being polite, thanking her and smiling. 🤷🏻♀️ Bad day or not we should always be polite to customers! And not assume the customer is trying to scam and get two drinks for the price of one if the drink was indeed made...

Read moreI truly expected much more from a WaWa staff member this experience has left me livid….it’s evident that as a lead professionalism is required! But unfortunately that was not what I received. When a person’s phone is lost you don’t pick up the phone very rudely and not provide the necessary information and hang up in a persons face that is very concerned and I hope this personally get to that horrible employee I was calling my fiancé’s phone who didn’t come home on top of that his elderly mother was concerned because this is unusual. This is someone’s father,son,sanificant other we were WORRIED and to answer and hang up on us was not the way to go about it! Then to not answer anymore after…I had to call 5 stores before I realized it had to be the 50th st location she evidently did not have sympathy at all it’s very pathetic and immature to treat concerned family like that when they are looking for someone a loved one!!! Put yourself in our shoes! What if it was your black son,husband,nephew or someone important to you in general I definitely would like a personal apology and need someone higher up to know about this.
