Thermoplis, WY was just as I remember it as a kid. Beautiful byway canyons, whitewater rafting, and glorious hot tubs to soak. When I was a kid I recall the hot springs being a bit bigger, and even perhaps a bit cleaner but for a quick dip they served their purpose. Had I had more time I would have gone hiking or rafting. The service at the El Rancho motel was excellent and Susan made me feel welcomed. I’d recommend the motel for its nostalgic feel. Mismatched towels, coffee mugs, and bedding created a warm cozy one of a kind experiences. The room was clean and the service couldn’t be replaced. I’ll return to this area and when I do I’ll stay with my friend, Susan. Hopefully, she was able to get a nap in between the smiles she offers to all her guests. 💕

Ok so I travel quite often, I like finding nice little places on my travels... sometimes they’re great sometimes not so much... This place was a great surprise! Absolutely amazed, very affordable and well kept little gem of a hotel... small family run hotel with great tips on what to do in thermopolis!!! I’m not sure if I will return but I’m not even considering staying anywhere else if I do!! Im almost certain they are pet friendly and that’s always a plus

El Rancho Motel is an all around good motel. All the basics were provided, and the room was small but nice. Service was very friendly, and Susan at the front desk was incredibly personable and helpful when we had questions. If I'm ever in Thermopolis again, I'll definitely be staying at El Rancho.

My stay at this motel was nothing short of a catastrophe. It's astonishing how a place like this can still be in business.||As I walked into the front desk, there was nobody in sight to greet me. Ringing the bell became an exercise in futility, and the second bell ring was met with blaring party music – as if they were throwing a bash while guests waited!||On my third attempt with the bell, there was still no response. I finally gave in and called the front desk, only to be told by a lady that she was "away right now." The lack of professionalism was infuriating.||But the true absurdity came when, without any prior warning or notice about assigned parking, the front desk woman came pounding on my door, loudly yelling that my friend had parked in the wrong spot. How on earth were we supposed to know about assigned parking if nobody bothered to inform us?||The cherry on top was when they had the audacity to inform us the next day that we weren't welcomed back. It's as if they take pride in their incompetence and terrible customer service.||Avoid this place like the plague. It's a complete disaster, and I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy. Stay away unless you enjoy dealing with unprofessional staff and chaos...

My recent stay at this so-called "motel" was an absolute nightmare. From the moment I walked into the front desk, I could tell it was going to be a disaster. Nobody was accountable, and I had to ring the bell multiple times just to get someone's attention.

The second time I rang the bell, I heard blaring party music coming from the back, as if this place were hosting a wild frat party instead of providing the calm and serene atmosphere I expected.

Finally, on my third bell ring, still, no one appeared at the front desk. In sheer frustration, I decided to call the front desk, and what did I get? A response from a lady who told me, "I'm away right now." Imagine that, an employee telling a guest they're unavailable.

But here's the kicker, after treating me like I was invisible, the next day, we were informed that we weren't welcomed back. Can you believe the audacity? It's as if they take pride in terrible customer service.

I would strongly advise anyone to steer clear of this establishment unless you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience by unprofessional staff. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy....

Awakened by staff entering room without knocking.

First, the pros. The motel is well-maintained, conveniently located, and has a great view. The rooms are nicely appointed and clean.

Now, the not so great. Check out time is 11.:00. I was awakened at 9:00 by a young kid who got my room door all the way open. No knock, no announcement, just opened my room to the world while I was still in bed. I wasn’t going to say anything because I didn’t want to get him in trouble. I figured he was the son or grandson of the owner, trying to get a head start on the housekeeping.

Then at 10:00 I heard someone unlocking the door. Again, no knock, no announcement. I was half dressed, fresh out of the shower, so I went and cracked the door to let them know that the room was still occupied. This time it was the owner herself.

This is especially irritating because it’s so easy to avoid. I can think of many ways to avoid it; See who has and hasn’t checked out. The motel only has about a dozen rooms, it shouldn’t be hard. Don’t barge into anyone’s room before checkout time. Just knock. How is that not...
