I'm surprised this level of museum exists as a local one, I've been to many museums and this is definately comparable to the state museum in Cheyenne, if not better. They provide an amazing and elaborate demonstration of local history and even bothered to present how local history is connected to or reflect the American history as a whole. Think of it, how many museums can do that? You will get a glimpse of what early pioneer life was like, including the bar culture, barber shop, homes, jails, and even coal mines. Read moreI only stopped in because the very nice lady at the Chamber of Commerce said it had the actual bar from hole-in-the -wall bar... and I had some time to spare. This place is off the charts. Fascinating history, photos and artifacts. I don't know how long I was here, but I know it was much longer than I spent at the Buffalo Bill center in Cody. So much history that needs to be preserved is right here inside these walls. The Veterans Memorial is just outside the front door. Good place to pause and remember...
