I'm not one who typically applies superlatives to places, but I have to say that this is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at. I'm just a simple Midwestern guy, so I've never really stayed anywhere "fancy". But I have stayed at plenty of places that would be competitively in-line with BW Tolleson. There are many things that made my visit to this hotel perfect. It was utterly spotless. Literally I didn't see a piece of dirt or a stain anywhere on the property. The staff was incredible. They seemed like one big family, and they were all working very hard. I've been to a different Best Western where the girl running the front desk put out breakfast. Not here! They seemed very overstaffed. I'm not sure that is good for their bottom line, but it was great for my experience Smells! Usually, any hotel I go to has a smell somewhere that I don't like. Either the room smells like cigarette smoke, or the ice machine area or laundry room has a mildew smell. But not here! Everything seemed very fresh The rooms were all suites, they were so nice. It felt like a cozy little apartment. There was a couch, a desk, a coffee table, lamps with outlets in them, a nice tv. Again, I'm sure these things are normal in a lot of hotels, but I've been to dozens of hotels at this price point that lacked these things. I went to a hotel in Illinois a week ago that was forty cents more expensive, and it didn't have a mini-fridge. This Best Western had it all The biggest one! The BREAKFAST! it was so good. It was like a small town Sunday morning buffet after church. Eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, muffins, bagels, fruit... And it was all good and at a great temperature! There was a lady there the whole time making sure everything was stocked up and ready. I came to Tolleson by accident, and could have stayed anywhere. But I stayed at the Best Western, and I'm so glad I did! A+...
Read moreCalled this particular location two days before a cross country trip to ensure they accepted pets. Lady on the phone confirmed that they had pet rooms. I got off the phone and booked two hotel stays, one Best Western in San Antonio and one here. Both locations were reserved the same exact way, indicating that there are two small dogs traveling with me. I get to San Antonio and everything is great. The next morning we leave. 16 hrs later, we arrive dead tired at this hotel. I was ready for a good nights sleep to make the rest of journey the following morning.
I get to the front desk and get told they did not get the memo about the dogs and that they cannot have us stay. I inform her that I have been on the road for 16 hrs and any help would be appreciated. Where was I going to go in the middle of the night in a city i was unfamiliar with? She talks to her manager on the phone, repeating words he was saying as if to say, I'm not even going to explain all the details to him because there's no point. By the time she gets off, i already know what the manager said. If I stay, I have to pay an additional $250 for a clean up fee AND a pet fee of $50 on top of my room fee. First of all, a dog will not be the grossest thing you have in your rooms. I tell her I don't have that kind of money and she tells me there's nothing she can do. She does call another best western for me, which I was thankful for. I left without signing any papers. Get to my new reservation and its in the ghetto with moldy carpet and questionable smells permeating from the room.
And the kicker, this place still charged me for the room they turned me away...
Read moreWe stayed at the BW in Tolleson in November. Front Desk personnel were friendly and welcoming. Room was decent and breakfast was pretty good. When we checked out, I left my Fire tablet in the top dresser drawer. When I called the first time, the receptionist said no one turned anything in. She took my name and number and told me she would call me one way or the other. I didn't get a phone call. I called again the following day and got the same answer. I stated I left my name and phone number, but she couldn't find that information on the desk. Again, I left my name and number. Unfortunately, I had to call again for the 3rd time. I spoke to Eliza/Elisia(?) who said she would see what was going on and would get back to me the following day. At this point, I wasn't expecting much. Sure enough, she called me the following day and stated she had my tablet at the front desk, and she would have it mailed out to me. I received my tablet and so glad, Eliza was the one who answered the phone, the third time I called. ...
