Starwok Express — Restaurant in Phoenix

First time here, trying to find a great local spot after my move. The eggrolls? Heard so many good things but the filling was all cabbage. No other veggies, no protein, no soy, garlic or ginger, just nothing. I heard they were big and ya they were....a big disappointment. I ordered a Kung pao chicken combo with fried rice which was delicious! Nice portion, perfect spice level, crunchy veggies (not overcooked,) and fresh tasting. The wor wonton soup made me sad. The broth didn't have any flavor, but it was packed full of protein, about 4 shrimp, char su pork, chicken and sliced beef. It had about 4 fat wontons (the quart size.) The veggies, again mostly cabbage, a couple carrots, snow peas and a little zucchini, not overcooked, still crunchy which I like. The skin on the wontons was over cooked, broke apart and floated in the soup.

For many years, I ordered from here and was very happy. Then things started changing and I gradually quit. I decided to give them a try on 3/27. It was still during lunch but late in the lunch hour. I was placing my order for which the lady was struggling to take and it was for one item. Then it came to payment and I was glad she was struggling. I watched a man with no gloves on putting food into a container by hand and then removing some with his hand. He walked up to her when I stated that they do not wear gloves. She replied that they do. I looked at him and he looked at me and said yes! I told her to cancel the order and left. He was not far back or anything. Roughly 5' from where she was so in very clear sight. He had his hands on his hips so who knows what else was with that food! I know this may happen at other places but that was the last...

I've been to this restaurant for over five years now. Their food, customer service, atmosphere, and employees are absolutely amazing. They offer delivery (if you purchase enough food and if it's a nearby address) They also offer pick-up or carry-out if that's what you prefer. They arguably have the best Chinese Food in the West Valley. Plus, their food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. They accept debit transactions even if it's delivered to your address (ask them over the phone if your address is within their delivery area) Truthfully, there hasn't been a single time that their food, service, and employees were anything lower than amazing.
