The hotel rooms rent dirt cheap. That isn't to say the rooms are bad. In fact, the rooms are probably the best one might expect for the price. That means soft beds, clean cotton sheets, seating, end tables, desk, dresser, cleanliness, multiple towels, plus soap and shampoo for the shower.
The three bars of soap were only a little larger than the last joint of my thumb, and were forever falling while I soaped up the wash cloth. There is no shelf or soap dish in the shower, but the shower has attractive slate walls.
To hang up my wet towels, I had three choices - the bathroom door, the hanger rod, and the shower curtain rod - since the room had no dedicated towel bar, ring, or hook.
The sink had two cracks, radiating from the two faucet knobs, but no leaks. There was a tissue dispenser but the cover was gone. I reported these issues upon checkout.
The television was an old CRT-type (picture tube, not flat panel), and "the vertical," was improperly adjusted (young folks probably won't get the technical reference). The channel selection was adequate, but no streaming. The window let through all manner of noise from other tenants. My room faced the inner courtyard, and the walkway was exterior, so no hallway carpet to dampen sounds.
There is a pool and there is a hot tub. There is an accessibility chair for pool access. Get the battery from the front desk. The front lobby has a pass-through to the inner courtyard, but the lobby closes at 6:00p.m., when they transition to a small teller window.
Internet can be had, but it's third-party-provided. I did not try using it.
My door card didn't work the second day, but getting a new one presented no issues.
Coffee, food, and a convenience store are a short walk away.
Need a crash pad? Need to travel on the cheap? Don't care about Internet (or access it by mobile phone)? This place might be right for you. The operators seem conscientious. Just don't expect...
Read moreThis place is just okay, the rooms have a mini fridge, but no microwave. Personally I wasn't satisfied with my visit. It's in a sketchy area of town on McDowell, so if you check in at night like around 9pm youre going to be standing in line and checking in through a plastic plexiglass window, there's none of this entering the building and being greeted by the employees behind a desk.
In the mornings, they do have the doors open, though custom service was downright petty. The employee seemed like she was either still waking up or wasn't having it. Or maybe it's her personality because of the area that your in. No friendly "thank you for staying, welcome in" or "good morning" greeting. The carpets are disgusting, lathered in black stains, and they just feel grimy when you walk over them in socks or shoes. I stayed in a non smoking room but,🚬 even then I got a wiff of cigarette smoke and at night you can smell the weed being smoked in the other rooms. The bathroom doesn't have a toilet paper roll holder so they put the toilet paper 🧻 on top of the toilet 🚽 tank which is just disgusting to think of sanitation wise cause multiple people are handling👏 that roll 🤢until it runs out 🤮 Thankfully the cops were hanging around the parking lot because of how sketch this area is. There 💁♀️is even a sign near the door inside of the room that reminds you to use the 🙅♀️deadbolt lock before 🤷♀️🤦♀️you go to sleep. There's a couple of places within walking distance to eat at: the waffle house, Jack in the box, a convenience store (Circle K), and a car wash for those who want to clean their car. I wouldn't recommend a stay here. But it's definitely a step above the Studio 51 just down the street that's located at 4861 W. McDowell where the 🪳 🪳 🪳 roaches 🪳🪳🪳🪳are even seen crawling out of the gaps on the floors and...
Read moreThis is the email I sent in an attempt to get my money back. They never responded and I did not get my money back. Read and see if you still want to stay here:||||---------------------||||I am reaching out to you today because I would like to cancel my reservation for tonight, March 2.||||I am also requesting a refund for my stay, which would have been March 1 and March 2.||||I booked this far in advance on the website. However, when I arrived yesterday, I was rather shocked to see the facilities. When I arrived, there was a prostitute checking in at the security window. I was unaware that this was in a neighborhood where those kinds of activities were occurring, and I was also surprised that there was a bullet proof security window; I have never seen a hotel or motel with anything like this before. It was rather shocking, and made me feel unsafe. In addition, seeing a security guard outside and seeing the amount of foot traffic in the neighborhood was a bad sign to me and my husband.||||I left rather quickly because I did not feel safe in the neighborhood. When I tried to call five or six times later in the evening to request a cancellation and refund, no one answered the phone. Again today, I called several times, I tried to be transferred to both reservations and the operator. No one picked up either line. With all due respect, I am asking to get my money back for both of these nights, because I feel this establishment was misrepresented on the website, and for people who are coming from out of town and are unfamiliar with the area, this was highly unexpected, and visibly not somewhere I felt I should be spending time because of health and safety concerns.||||Please let me know about a...
