I first heard of SpringHill Suites when a family member stayed there. One thing that really got me to book at this location is it’s perfect for a staycation. I visited this location in early April 2023. The booking process was smooth being that I have the app I was able to check in in advance and also had access to my mobile key. The app also inquiries about it you require any accommodations (ex: tub type), type of pillows (ex: foam or feathers), whether you want a high or low floor, be next to the elevator etc. Parking is also free at this location. Upon driving up to the location I noticed a seating area which included a fire pit. I even sat by the fire pit one evening during my stay. There is also a seating area in the back. As we entered the lobby were intrigued by its beautiful décor with plenty of seating and tv’s. There is also a bar in the lobby area. Free hot breakfast also takes place in the lobby as well. I went down for breakfast one morning and there was a nice spread of sausages, boiled eggs, mini quiches, an oatmeal bar (with different toppings), bagels and English muffins, apple, orange juice, and coffee, and fresh fruit. I believe there were also cereal options. The lobby also features a little convenience store area selling drinks (water, juice and soda) as well as snacks. There is also a gym on the premises in which is stocked with hand towels and water. There were tread mills, bikes, ellipticals, and a scale. There is also a pool on the premises however it was closed. I overheard a staff member mentioned it may not reopen due to a foundation issue. Now for the room, using my mobile key was quite handy. You can also get a physical key card in the event your phone dies. There is a nice sitting area with a couch in the and a desk, fridge and microwave, mini coffee maker, bucket for the ice. Con, the glass divider at the desk was annoying while walking near as it would shake and make noise. We ended up closing the divider to prevent it from happening. The tv is mounted to the wall where you’re able to swivel it back and forth between the sitting area and the bed. We brought our PS5 with us to watch movies, the hotel has a converter box we plugged into. The bed was comfortable, my pillows were the feather pillows in which I doubled up on. The nightstands near the bed have both regular outlets and USB outlets. The closet was pretty big walk-in closet where the iron and ironing board are stored with extra pillows and blankets. The bathroom was spacious as well however the layout was a bit weird. I also not a fan of barn doors as it creates a draft when bathing. The usual toiletries were available ex: shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Which I didn’t use because I bring my own. There were a blow dryer and make up wipes available. The room was very modern and bright. Con was it was noise. We could hear people’s doors opening and closing. We would also hear little noises that that made us say did you hear that? It could be because we were near the elevator. Con our view wasn't pleasant, we kept the shade down. I was able to get the needed rest I required which is a plus. A bonus is it’s not to far by car from Cross County Mall and Ridge Hill Malls. I would definitely recommend this location and I’m looking forward to...
Read moreI had an amazing 21 day stay at the SpringHill Suites in Tuckahoe for work and these are the reasons why it was amazing:
I went to Marriott’s website and found an extended stay discount which was cheaper than any travel website out there. And, the daily rate was way cheaper than I was expecting to pay and the value I received from what I paid was way beyond what I paid.
The staff at this hotel is phenomenal and they go out of their way to make you feel like you are at your second home. Sharrelle who works mornings and early afternoons is the best. She was so friendly and went out of her way to say good morning to me or welcome me back on my return to the hotel. She was good people and you can tell she took a lot of pride in her job. Debra, James and Steve were also very helpful with getting me acquainted with the area and the hotel.
A nice breakfast spread each morning with plenty of options and variety. Merlun greeted me every morning and did a great job keeping the buffet area well stocked and clean. She was so nice and I appreciated all she did to help me start my day with a good meal.
The hotel was clean and all credit goes to the housekeeping staff whom I saw working hard each day to clean and sanitize the common areas
The layout of my room was phenomenal, it had a living area that had a desk that separated it from the sleeping area with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. And, their was a large tv that pivoted between both the living area and sleeping area. You can even ask for a room with just a shower (no bath tub) which is I opted in for which was a nice added bonus. I have to say that I also appreciated the black out curtains in the room!
All in all, I had a great stay and credit Gary and his team’s hard work for going out of their way to make me feel like I was at my home...
Read moreI walked into a beautiful, spacious room, with comfortable beds and a TV with streaming options. Breakfast choices were definitely a cut above the average hotel; steel-cut oatmeal and apple pancakes were definitely nice touches to have in the morning, as well as a decent selection of teas. Wifi speed was great for me to get work done during my stay, and loved that they had a Peloton in the fitness center. Management was very pleasant, as they were able to block off a group of rooms for a discount off the regular rate and allowed us to gather in the lobby and firepit for a family celeberation. I especially appreciated the assistant manager Idelsi being able to accommodate a later checkout time so that I did not have to show up at the airport 4 hours ahead of my flight.
There were a few drawbacks, most notably the ability to hear footsteps in the room above me as well as conversations from the neighbors next to me. Granted, there was a child next door so he was naturally loud. I suppose I should consider myself lucky that he didn't have any meltdowns, but still I wouldn't expect a hotel of this caliber to be unable to block out sound from normal conversation. The lack of carpeting, while aesthetically pleasing and easier to keep clean, does little to block out unwanted noise from neighbors.
Other problems were minor in comparison, such as a coffee maker that hadn't been sufficiently cleaned from the previous stay, shower water that took a minute or two to warm up, and a desk partition that rattled around when I walked past it.
One last thing I enjoyed about the hotel was its location - not too far from LGA and a 15-minute walk from the train, which takes less than 45 minutes to get to...
