The Extended Stay America in Elmsford has rooms that are still outdated and in poor shape. Few have been renovated. However, that's not the only issue...the real issue is the lack of cleanliness and proper items one would typically find in even a good extended stay hotel. I had to often remind the staff what is advertised and what was missing. I had to go back down for the "kitchen items, " which consisted of matching dishes, but mismatched utensils and a dirty pot and pan. The toaster that I was given, still had crumbs in it and the coffee pot still had a used coffee filter and a dirty glass pot! The colander still felt greasy. The refrigerator is old and noisy and the floor, at least by the time we got to move into the third room, was rather dirty. The microwave had crumbs in it and the glass plate was dirty as well. The Extended Stay America in Elmsford charges what a really nice hotel should, but it's a "wanna be" hotel that hasn't quite finished taking classes in travel and hospitality. The beds move around. The pillows are not good quality and the comforter is thin. The kind of thin where you don't have enough money, but need... something. The staff if helpful, but they are lacking standards for what a hotel, even for a long stay can provide. For what I am paying for 5 days, I should be receiving clean... everything! The two pillows in the front should be soft and the two pillows in the back should be firm. A pillow top mattress and a really fluffy comforter along with simple things like a sink plug so nothing accidentally falls into the drain would be highly appreciated. The bathroom door creeks loudly and it is apparent that the paint job is not professional. The maintenance is lacking because even in the renovated room, things need to be fixed. If I didn't drive cross-country for 5 days, I would have overlooked a couple of things, like the fire alarm sounding in the morning, but when you want to hang up your clothes and there are no hangers, that makes me want to slam the closet door...but wait...there isn't a door, there is only a curtain! I'm paying a high price for a room which is a step above a dorm room, yet definitely not a quality hotel. Staying at the Comfort Inn and the Best Western as I was driving across the country was the best. I felt like a well treated and pampered guest, especially with the breakfasts that they offer on the size of a wedding dais! The Extended Stay America in Elmsford only offers coffee, bags of oatmeal and I'm sure not much else, which is displayed on a desk. It could be so much more and better and CLEAN if only management and staff really understood who their guests are and what they expect is crucial. Some of us are tired from our long journey or from any emergency situation that they could be experiencing. Expecting their guests to clean, wash and ask for things constantly is too exhausting. There's also a chance that the dressers are not clean... because I have noticed that when I took out my shirt and put it on, I have some red bite marks on my arm and I begin to scratch like a dog with fleas.    Read moreThis place is awful. I was on my way to Florid a from Massachusettes. My belt in my car snapped needless to say I had to stay in this hotel. Smh. This was the worst experience of my life. My life ! The staff are very rude very ignorant and lie. When I walked into my room with my 11 year old son husband and dog it smelled of cigarettes. I was so exhausted I let it go. I woke up to my legs frozen cold I could barely walk my son waking me up coughing up a king it was so cold. The smell did not help his asthma. I ended up very thankful my car was ready and it was time to go. As I left I told the staff about the window I actually am grateful I took pictures of. They charged me 527.00 for one night. I spent three hours trying to get a hold of the presidents of this company I did. The district manager very unprofessional assistant manager Milton worse. They both lied about my family and I. I travel for work in the 15 years that I had my American express I never had to dispute a charge here I did. The CEO and vice President are investigating the entire thing. They said we smoked in the room. Lol worse thing is when my car broke down we left all lighters matches. We had nothing to smoke with we had no car no store to buy one. I actually ran across the st to get a light off a random person and also another from a woman in back. It's all over camera. I asked the front desk of they had matches none. I'm confused on how exactly I was smoking in there room when I had no lighters on matches. The place is being investigated. The broken window well we ended up at white Plain hospital. My 11 year old ended up with pneumonia. This was something that could have been fixed just watching video footage of my husband I in and out of the building. Makes no sense smoking in a room withh a child with severe asthma . This place is going to not only be investigated by cooperate but also by American express . 15 years 100s of hotel stays and never had an issue. My credit card was has already informed me that I will.be reimbursed for all of this. This place is awful I may call BBB today and report them there also this is stealing. Please avoid this place for the safety and well being of your children but also for your finances as well. These people are so awful. This place was...
Read moreI just checked in yesterday. The first thing they got me with at the front desk, they said the rate I was quoted on the phone by corporate for the reservation, had to be paid monthly. I was very specific on the phone when I made the reservation, I needed to pay weekly, even discussed the email that I got for up to 50% off the rate, but couldn't use it because they wanted payment monthly if I used that. There was never any discussion about a $240 deposit to hold the room when I made the reservation, no talk of an EPP rate they kept mentioning, so I'm waiting on corporate to " listen to the phone call" and see if they're going to honor the rate and weekly payment as discussed. Next the room situation....first room had a horrible smell, and there was sticky, yellow stuff all over the front of the refrigerator. Opened the refrigerator door, and water poured out from the bottom. It was pooled inside on the bottom shelf. Get a second room assigned, go to it, someone has the door propped open and is doing construction in the room, finally given a 3rd room key, and it's good, with the exception of white powder all over the kitchen and bathroom floor. I cleaned it up myself. Go to park in the garage, first 2 floors full, get on the 3rd floor parking area, the elevator in the garage DOES NOT WORK, and no one during the check in process bothered to mention that. When you're here for a contract, and have 3 months worth of gear to move in, that's a problem. Lastly, up on check in, I asked for all the kitchen wares that are supposed to be included. There is a sign that shows all that is provided, that you just have to ask for it, and it all will be delivered to your room. Several hours go by, so I go back to the front desk...they don't have enough items to give all guests what are supposed to be provided. I got a plate, saucer, bowl, coffee cup, butter knife, toaster, coffee pot...no pots and pans, no dish rack, no towels, no glasses, no utensils, no cutting board, or colander as the picture shows are supposed to be provided. I was told I would have to wait until someone checks out to get the other items that are supposed to be included with the price. Absolutely ridiculous here. I travel for work, stayed at a lot of places, this has definitely...
