La Concha | Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Greenburgh

I went to CVS across the street with my partner, and we were both starving. I looked across the street at the corner, and saw a window with a neon sign that said "open tacos and burritos". No real visible sign saying a name or anything like that however this was also at night. My partner and I figured, let's give it a shot. We walk in, and it's a small seating area, a few people hard at work behind the counter all speaking Spanish, soda in glass bottles, and an Amp blasting music in Spanish at top volume to the point that there was little to no chance of conversation. I immediately knew that this was going to be some of the best food I've ever had in my life. And you know what? I was right. I got a glorious burrito with carnitas that was bigger than anything I've got before, along with a side of fried sweet plantains that melted in my mouth. Not to mention some delicious churros and a coca cola in a glass bottle to wash it...

We ordered wings, a torta, and shrimp tacos. We were surprised with two Jarrito sodas but found out why once we opened the meal. There was no torta. Instead they gave us wings x2. When we called they said that “oh we just subbed out the torta for something of equal value because our bread didn’t come in.” When we asked why they didn’t call they said, “oh we don’t call because no one answers.” As a family with food allergies this is absolutely unacceptable. The shrimp tacos were good (tail on), it came with plenty of sauces, but the wings were so awful we threw them out and ordered from another restaurant. They were breaded and frozen and...

I came here around midnight, feeling both hungry and in need of a comforting experience. Jessica and Fran went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. As a single woman who loves exploring places late at night, I deeply appreciate when staff create an environment that feels safe and inviting—and they absolutely nailed it. I ordered a Corona and some tacos: chicken, carnitas, and tinga tacos made with serrano peppers. Everything was absolutely amazing! I would 100% recommend this place—fantastic food and exceptional...
