Stay here for the convenient low price and proximity to town, but know you get what you pay for.
Prior to booking the Oasis Motel, we read through the reviews and recognized the several "disappointed" guests. "It can't be THAT bad?" Well, within moments of arriving we heard those reviews loud and clear!
Upon checking in, the receptionist (owner?) acknowledged we had booked a Queen Room, but after fumbling through a few pages of pencil scratches (no legit computer system), she handed me a key for a Double room and repeated several times, "sleep only on one bed." It felt more of a command than a suggestion - in truth, we didn't get what we actually paid for.
At first glance (don't breathe in too deep when entering a room - that air freshener will getcha!), the room was quaint and simple. At second glance....well....
Although plugged in, the TV did not work, the refrigerator never became cool (bummer), and only two of the multiple outlets worked. We are in the mountains so I accepted the spiders living in the corners, but questioned the very dark stains spattered on the walls and ceilings. If this place is haunted, I'm not surprised! And to no surprise [at that point], there was the bedding...If you get ANYthing out of this review, it's a hard suggestion to bring your own bedding! There was dirt, hair clumps, blood stains (!!!), and that yellowish stain which no one would question its origin.
For the price, it's cheaper than anything within walking distance to town, but "OK" is pretty much the best way to...
Read moreThe pool was under repair when we arrived, it would have been nice to know before booking considering it’s the main attraction of the place. Other folks checking in were equally bummed to find out about it.
The room was outdated which would have been fine if it was cleaned properly. Lots of dust, hair, smears/drips on walls, stains on all the curtains. Holes in the walls and flaking ceiling paint.
The room was hot, humid and smelled like chemicals and urine. The bathroom smelled like mildew and the shower curtain had mildew/mold on the bottom of it. The shower stall was poorly cleaned, not caulked well. There was even mildew in the knobs of the shower.
The layout of bathroom was so awkward and we couldn’t sit on the toilet without bashing our knees against the opposite wall. We had to keep the bathroom door open to use the toilet.
The floors looked brand new but were grimy/dirty, our feet were black from walking around on it.
The old AC was missing a knob and we had to take a knob off the fan/cool setting to turn up the coolness level. The Wifi barley worked and we had to use our cell data.
The mattresses were old, crunchy, and loud. Cheap feeling linens/towels and stained sheets—literal blood and urine stains.
The place could be so much cuter if they put effort into it but unfortunately it was the worst place I’ve ever stayed and totally not worth the price. We had no other place to go or we...
