My cousin, her husband, their 3 month old baby, her sister and myself. (4ppl and the baby) stayed in the lakeside room. When we checked in they gave us a room that was already preoccupied with another family. So that was the first mistake. The room we stayed in the AC was barely working. The room temperature stayed at 72-75 degrees even when we set it to 61 the lowest. The thermostat never went below 72. We called maintenance 3 times for them to fix it. Their best solution was to give us a fan. This was extremely unbearable due to the fact we had a 3 month old baby with us. We stuck it out the first 2 nights. The third night we asked for an extra fan. An hour later, still no one came. We called again and they said they were still looking for one. Crazy how they only had one fan within the whole resort. Makes me question if other guests were having issues. The maintenance guy came again and said “the new ACs were horrible and they’re trying to replace them next year” - we asked for the manager. When the manager came, she came off very rude from the beginning. No consideration or empathy. We are young adults over the age of 26+. She did not greet us with a welcome- she quickly asked in the rudest way what our problem was. It may have been we were young and she didn’t care. We also had 2 other family members in the room that were just hanging out for the time being and she blamed it on overcrowding and said “The ACs work perfectly fine”- definitely not what your maintenance guy said right? We had other family members renting out 3 other rooms as well and they did not have any issues. She said the fact we never threatened to leave and we’re only mentioning it to her the last night she couldn’t do much for us. So we have to threaten you to accommodate us? The price of this room compared to the service did not meet the standards. Nor did they clean our room the second day- had to clean it myself and leave the garbage out for them to pick it up. What am I paying this place for? We finally came to an agreement of compensation after a huge argument back and forth. When it was time to checkout the lady at the front desk said the refund was due to overcrowding??? While she read it had an attitude as well. How many times do we have to explain the REAL issue here. Maybe you should state on the website the different AC units and we would’ve just chosen a regular room with a better AC. I don’t think you should treat your guests in this way. I have worked in customer service and as a manager for almost 9+ years and have never treated anyone in that way. Horrible....

Pros: Absolutely beautiful water front location that you truly can't bet for the price! The view is fantastic to enjoy while sitting at the cabana bar. Cabana bar excellent drinks (very strong too) LOVED the bucket drink. Located right by everything really- tons of shops, resturants etc. was able to honestly walk everywhere which was really great! The room itself was super clean! Very nice and I was impressed with it and how updated it looked for the price.
Cons: The resturant itself- we ate dinner here the first night. I got wings and my husband got ribs (neither of us liked either- they didn't taste fresh at all and tasted like they were microwaved). Our last night here (Monday) we decided to try the resturant again at an off time (wasn't busy at all around 1:00) we got nachos that's it just nachos. We waited for 1 hour and 10 mins for nachos (literally timed it cause I was a little concerned if the waitress even put them in at first so asked my husband the time just to check). While waiting for nachos I asked for water just water over four different times before I finally got a water. There was also no "sorry for your wait" when our nachos did finally come out. The bar was truly slow and the bartender never checked on us and honestly seemed to be avoiding eye contact with anyone by the bar. It was truly the worse dinning experience and customer service I have ever had just for nachos. And we are very patient people and we're enjoying the view but very uncalled for. Also if your looking for a quiet hotel this isn't it. The first two nights there were kids running up and down the hallway till pass 1 am literally running wild and knocking on doors and just so extremely loud. Really was crazy to me especially cause when we opened the door to look it was children up that lady running wild. Same with around the whole bar area one night just children running wild and crazy loud. Last con... the motion light in the bathroom in the room itself. It was a very sensitive light and kept going off if we even moved at all. Which made it difficult to sleep with a light randomly coming on.
Overall definitely stay here if you want a nice comfortable updated room, beautiful views, nice bar for drinks (just do NOT order food here) and great location to walk anywhere. We also tried breakfast one night and wasn't impressed for the price. The "gourmet coffee bar" was just hot coffee with a couple different creamer flavors and...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Georgian Lakeside Resort, and it was the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. We even had to leave early, forfeiting the rest of our planned vacation. We planned a four-night stay but left after two nights. The room was filthy: cobwebs, dead bugs, holes in the ceiling, and bugs everywhere, including in our bed. My boyfriend killed about 15-20 bugs during our stay. The refrigerator wasn't functioning properly, and the bathroom light was dirty and filled with dead bugs.
The hotel's carelessness extended beyond the room. We went to the front office first thing in the morning after our first night and asked for the room to be cleaned and for additional towels. We didn't have a sign to request housekeeping, so we asked for one. The woman at the front desk wrote down our request and assured us housekeeping would visit our room while we were out. By 10 pm, housekeeping hadn’t come, and we had no towels to shower after being out all day in the 90+ degree heat.
We walked down to the front office again to ask about the towels and the room situation. The man at the front desk said our request was never put in the system and was dismissive of our concerns. When we mentioned the bugs, he said, "because of the lake, there's nothing we can do." This is unacceptable. If there's a widespread issue, the hotel should take every precaution to prevent this infestation. By this logic, the lobby should have been just as infested, but it wasn’t. He didn’t offer us a new room or to speak with management.
Frustrated and exhausted, we asked for towels and went back to the room, planning to leave in the morning. On 6/21, we went to the front desk to speak with management about our issues and to inform them we were leaving early. The two women at the front desk, Ellie and Mikayla, tried to locate the manager, but they were unavailable. Mikayla said she would relay our concerns to the manager and that management would call us. Instead, Mikayla called us back, not the manager. She was courteous but couldn't address our additional concerns regarding a refund for our stay. We asked her again to speak with her manager about a refund. She said they would get back to us.
It’s now 9:00 pm on 6/21, and we haven't heard from any management. The Georgian Lakeside Resort’s negligence and lack of basic hospitality standards are unacceptable. The online photos are misleading; the property is poorly maintained. I strongly advise against staying here until significant...
