No Shoes Cruises — Local services in Town of Lake George

Please note that we did not actually get to go on our boat charter. This review is based solely on our experience that caused us to miss our paid time slot. This company comes highly regarded with many positive reviews. Unfortunately, a discrepancy derailed our day.

We booked an available time via the No Shoes Cruises website the night before. We paid the deposit, got confirmation via email. The next morning, my family (4 young kids and 4 adults) showed up at Surfside Motel in the village, packed and ready for our charter. There was no information leading us where to go either on the website or property. We asked several people who worked on property where to go, and nobody knew. I called the phone number for No Shoes multiple times... but because it seems like this is a one man business, he was likely loading up the other family onto our boat during this time.

I saw a boat filled with people pulling away at this time.

I was finally able to get in touch with the captain, who was clearly driving the boat at this time, and let me know he left with a different family on board. It was hard to hear and I couldn't decipher his explanation. He offered to bump another family to accommodate later in the day, but unfortunately, 2 of our group were leaving later in the day. He offered a refund that was given that night.

We were then faced with the task of finding another boat charter last minute, because we had young children very excited and expecting this special outing with their aunt and uncle that have otherwise been preoccupied with a newborn. There was no last minute availability anywhere. We unfortunately wound up renting our own boat, with the driver being an over exhausted new dad that was expecting a morning to relax, but was the only licensed boat driver in our family and didn't want to disappoint the kids. The time setback from the confusion and subsequent phone calls to other charters caused us to have a very near miss in the lake with a volatile storm.

I'm disappointed we didn't have the day we planned, and hope the owner sees this as an opportunity to close gaps that caused this mishap...

Our experience with Captain Rick on "No Shoes Cruises" was absolutely phenomenal! From start to finish, Rick ensured we had the most memorable day on Lake George. He took us tubing, which was a blast, showed us breathtaking sights around the lake, and guided us through the lively party coves.

One of the highlights was the fantastic music selection Rick provided, which perfectly complemented the atmosphere and made the day even more enjoyable. His knowledge of the area and friendly demeanor added a personal touch that made the experience truly special.

Awesome experience cliff jumping and tubing in early evening with no boat traffic with very accommodating Captain Rick! Even stopped at an island for ice cream! And while cruising, pointed out a Bald Eagle perched in a tree overlooking the lake!
