The Lake George Inn — Hotel in Town of Lake George

It was a last minute scramble to find a location to go and stay with our two pups for a week that wasn't going to completely kill $$$.( we had stayed once before and enjoyed our stay ). I called up maybe a week ahead and asked if there was any chance to cover the dates requested. The gentleman on the phone asked if I could hold and would check a few things. Shortly after he came back and advised me he could make it happen gave me the price including the addition fee for my two dogs and it was $300 - $400 below most of the other locations near by . || || I asked if I could get 20 minutes or so to speak with my other half and he generously asked if I would like for him to block those dates out I took a moment to think about it and decided to just pay and do it.|||| We arrived a bit early and figured I would swing by , the women at the desk was courteous and professional, asked if I was checking in I replied " if I could...? " sure enough we were good to go. Got to out room which was clean , functional and comfortable. A few times throughout our visit we did ask for a few toiletries and moments after asking they were there. The pool is nice, the facilities are clean , the staff is great and the location is great, close to everything and yet not in the mess of the center of the village. |||| Thank you again to the Lake...

The Lake George Inn is probably a 3/average, but you can see the care ownership takes to keep it relevant and with that older charm of resort town motels from the 1960-70's, I gave it a 4/very good. The property was clean, and the amount of beautiful hanging flowers everywhere was wonderful. The girl at the front desk was great and informative letting us check in very early, there was an excellent ice machine, coffee in the lobby and though parking was tough with a full motel, we always got a wide spot by our room on the Rt. 9 side of the motel. Our king room was nice, the bathroom fine, and for $99 in August in Lake George, a bargain. It had a nice location, was walking distance to quite a few restaurants, but maybe 3/4 mile to the center of town. There is even a balcony with 2 chairs on all the rooms facing the inside V of the motel. They also have a small pool and nice restaurant across the street. I spent many a night in independent motels travelling with my parents as a kid and have grown to appreciate the ones that are well kept over a sterile chain motel in many cases and they are usually cheaper.
