We rented a 3 bedroom cottage that was pet friendly. The cottage was very roomy and very clean. The kitchen was fully stocked. There were visitors next to us with shared walls but we never heard any noise from them other than the occasional barking of their dog. They also had a gym, game room and hot tub which were understandably closed due to covid. We did enjoy the mini golf course. There were 2 pools 1 was a full sized Kiddy pool with the deepest end being only 3 and a 1/2 feet which was great. There was a great playground and a zip line for children. We did have to drive to the Lake which was across the street and down a very long steep Hill which I was not able to walk back up. There was little parking at the lake and if you didn't get there early in the morning there would be no parking available. The Lake was clean had a great swimming area and many places with beach chairs and areas to spread out a beach blanket. Unfortunately there were many nights with Loud noise from partying after the 10 o'clock curfew. Also there was a lot of party debris left on picnic tables and grounds next to the playground Including cups still filled and beer chugging devices. (Reason 5 stars not given). Though the complex boasts pet friendly the owner certainly did not seem to be. Trash and recycleables were picked up twice a day. The maintenance staff was very helpful and blew up our floatables for us. When walking your dog they did have special containers for dog poop. The location was close to downtown but not so close that you got the heavy traffic of cars and people. Would consider staying again...
Read moreI have been going to Twin birches on and off for the last 25 years. My grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins have also been patrons. I was booked for a short stay on 8/22. Unfortunately there was a death in my family and that person had also been a patron to twin birches. I used all my available time off from work so I called them to cancel today. They would not refund my deposit which I was ok with but they would credit it until next year either. Jaime Rose, the owner was short with me and not empathetic. I followed up with an email after a few hours pleading my situation and asking her for some compassion. The only thing she said she could do was give me a portion of my refund if she could rent the apartment. My issue is that a 750 dollar stay with a 249 deposit is so important to these folks that they would lose my business and the patronage of my family. Thousands of dollars will be lost by them and given to the many neighboring places over 249 dollars. I have never dealt with so little compassion and empathy anywhere. If you want to stay at a place where there is no real compassion or respect for long time customers then this is the place for you. Below if the email I was sent after...
Read moreJust got back from a much needed vacation and we were extremely happy with Twin Birches. We were nervous about going away with the pandemic, but everything was wonderful and safe.||It’s located about 2 miles outside of the LG village. The cottage we stayed in was cute, clean, family and dog friendly. The grounds are very spacious so it never felt crowded even though I think all the cottages/rooms were sold out. There are lots of activities for kids and mine had a blast. The staff and guests were very good about wearing masks and social distancing when in close proximity to other guests. Each cottage has a kitchenette with microwave, stove/oven, sink, coffeemaker, and a grill outside.||We rented kayaks for $25 each per day at the water sports rental place on the property. And my kids spent a lot of time at the lake, playgrounds, and the pools. ||The lake front is just across the street down a steep hill which you can walk or drive down and park. We never had a problem getting beach chairs. ||We were so happy with our stay that we’ve reserved another vacation for next year. Can’t...
