Ray’s Helova Deli — Restaurant in Town of Lake George

I'm writing this review as a former employee at Ray's Helova Deli. Although, emotions are clearly essential part of the human nature, I carefully filtered my opinion in the light of rational criterias. Therefore, I have the necessary information to offer you a whole picture about the business. At the Deli, I  experienced what true teamwork means. Paying attention to the details, correcting each other's mistakes and most importantly, offering high quality services. Studying hospitality for 4 years taught me, you cannot satisfy all the costumers' needs. Don't expect that everything is going to be always perfect. It's humanly impossible. But you can always try to do better. Justin, my manager, daily invests significant amount of energy and passion in offering great quality food, making people feel better after stepping out of the door. This is clear, and proven by all the positive reviews offered my people, from all around the world. On the other hand, what people cannot see, is the relationship between coworkers. He practices, what great companies, such as Marriott, recently acknowledged: employee engagement and appreciation. By involving employees in decision making, treating them with respect and patience, leading them, instead of managing from the outside, truly makes a difference, which can be instantly recognized by outsiders. We faced difficult situations, but what determined me placing the business' interests in front of myself, was clearly not money. It was always the fact that I was appreciated, loved and understood by the people around me. Unfortunately, managers often get trapped in the loop of power, but not Justin. He was there, always, working harder than us, becoming a leader worth following. I'm just a student, from Romania. For me, this was a summer job. A job, which influenced my whole 'American experience'. And definitely it was a positive one. I'm not paid to write this review, I was planning to do it, since the beginning, regardless of the outcome. If you took the time to read it, I would like to thank you! I just can't say enough about Helova Deli! The customer service, quality and assortment of menu options, and the attention to every deatil were all outstanding! Over the course of a long weekend we used Helova Deli for three separate occasions and we were blown away each time! Justin (owner) and Deb (catering) took care of everything! Deb catered my son's rehearsal dinner and breakfast for guests; everyone raved about the food for both events! Deb guided me (long distance since I had never been to Lake George) with every aspect of the meal planning, suggesting an assortment of hot and cold dishes, each of which were excellent! And the homemade desserts - the cheesecake and brownie are to die for! We also ordered sandwiches and salads for a boat ride for a group of 25. Again, sandwiches were fabulous and the order was waiting for us when we arrived! Not only have a found my "go to" deli in Lake George, I've made wonderful friends in Deb and Justin! They are the best...

I dont usually give lengthy reviews but I just had to mention this Fantastic Deli located just outside the Village in Lake George,NY. This place used to be Rays Helova Deli. As of the new year 2020 it went under New Ownership Wow!! What a difference ! The Deli/ Store is clean, organized well stocked and no clutter. The staff and owners Cindy and Mark welcome you when you walk through the door. Everyone is smiling and the staff joke with you and strike up a conversation like they have known you for years. With a whole new menu, which I have tried many things it is hard for me to choose a favorite There breakfast sandwiches made to order are a Perfect start to my morning. Well worth the wait. They will take call ahead phone orders so you don't have to wait whether its for one sandwich or several They have a nice selection of cold sandwiches and subs and some must try grill items.
