After a recent trip to Great Wolf lodge where my children had their first experience with bunk beds they were both firm on the fact that they wanted bunk beds. This was a proposition that caused me significant anxiety. As a parent who are always concerned about safety I immediately tabled the idea. At my children's persistence and insistence I began doing research into bunk beds. They were both the right age and height. Now it was the search for the most safe and reputable company from which to get the beds. I began my search online. I was bombarded with great deals and a wide range prices and a tremendous amount of misleading safety information. I quickly realized this wasn't going to be a online purchase. This wasn't a purchase that the best price would surfice. I knew this was a purchase I wanted to make a very informed decision about. We wanted safe and durable. I needed to see the products in person and have the kids physically present when doing so. I also needed to be able to run my MANY questions by a live person. My husband came home one day with an online catalogue for a company called "Bedroom Source" in Carole Place and it was local. We popped in one day and we're pleasantly surprised. The showroom was incredible. Truly a Kids wonderland. The set up was so exciting. Really gave us an idea of the many different products, their construction and even the products future potential. After wandering around for a bit (with no interruption). We were plesently greated by a sale associate Russell. I will be honest and say I am a very tough customer. He was a model of customer service. He was patient (as we chased the kids around the store) and kind. Most importantly he was extraordinarily well versed in all the safety concerns we had. There wasn't one (of at least a hundred) questions he wasn't able to answer. I point blank asked him why this store over online products. His answer was impressive and sealed the deal. I didn't stump him once. He never made me feel like I was overbearing or asking a silly question. He spent well over an hour with my family in addressing our specific needs and concerns. Many times he even pulled out a tape measure and went through our specific needs. Russell was incredibly thorough. He even went as far as telling us to take our time and to digest everything I saw and heard. He said to look into anything he had told me to establish what he was saying was accurate. (Of course I did and he was right on with everything he said). We had concerns about ceiling height and width. He directed us to the perfect product. (Not what I originally considered). It meet all my safety concerns and room perameters. We did not make a purchase that day. I went home and did some more research. I quickly realized we were going with this company. They were the BEST in their industry. We went back two days later and met with one of the owners Paul. Again we were so impressed with the customer service. Never one did he try to sell us. Consummate professionals. He addressed more of my questions and never once made me feel he just wanted a purchase. He had the kids try out so different models. He thoroughly explained the "Matrix product" we were considering on. It's a transitional bedding solution that grows with the kids. We are in between houses and wanted to make sure that the product we purchased could grow with our growing children. The Matrix is a parent of multiple children's dream come true. It allows for so many future configurations and options as the kids get older. Even the Matrix's catalogue was impressive. Gave so many ideas and possibilities. Even the bedding options were incredible. The best was the Incredible warranty. Paul made so many viable suggestions and shared incredible information and feedback. What the "Bedroom Source" can surely guarantee is that you will make the most informed purchase. I signed the receipt with no doubt or hesitation in my mind. Nothing more important then my kids and no better company then the bedroom source to meet your children's bedding...
Read moreI hate writing negative reviews, but my experience with Bedroom source has been a very negative one. They offer “HIGH-END QUALITY” FURNITURE. Unfortunately, that is NOT TRUE. We bought a bed and a night stand for our son’s bedroom 2 years ago. The wood’s color coat started to peel a year later even on areas that are not expose . We called Bedroom Source and we explained to them the problem since we were within the 5-year service plan. They send the delivery man to take a look and to patch up the areas. Patching areas is not a solution since the paint is peeling all over. It is just a temporal fix. He made a report to his co-workers that was not accurate making it seem that is our son’s usage that made the wood like that. What can a child do to make a an entire bed and night stand to start peeling? Its is irrational. As parents we look for was is best for our children. You pay and do not get what you pay for. Now the wood is starting to come off and they are a lot of splinters coming out. Its upsetting situation very because not we only wasted money buying cheap quality furniture for our children but the store was not helpful at all and did not accept the bed and night stand was defective and not the quality promised. Also, I agree with other reviews. they do not stick to their delivery time frame. The bed was deliver to us like 2 weeks later after the stated time frame. We did not make it an issue. When we got the bed and stand, the odor from the paint was so strong that they had to take it back so they can “air it out”. How can you deliver a furniture with such a strong chemical odor for kids? It was such a inconvenience for us and yet we did not made it a problem for them and at that time our LO was 6 months. We were understanding with them. We were looking to get the same bed for our second son but now we cannot. We have to invest more money to get a replacement bed. It is not fair. Please be careful you purchase from this store. They might look like a great quality but in the long run they are not. They are cannot POOR QUALITY AND NOT SAFE FOR OUR KIDS. (PAINT IS NOT SAFE FOR KIDS. We got a profesional carpenter look at this matter and we were told that it happens when the color on the woods is rushed. We tried to solve this issue with them but at the end the management/ owners do not seemed to care. We have not got a response from them in weeks. It is not fair they offer high-end quality bed to parents who seek for good long lasting furniture for...
Read moreI purchased a high loft bed for my son that cost 4700. Beautiful bed and great experience during the purchase process. The delivery crew, not so much. For people entering your private space a little more professionalism is expected. They were unapproachable and borderline annoyed if you had any questions. They ended up leaving one the holes on top of bed frame unplugged. Although we took our time and measured and also included the sales rep in that process. Once bed was delivered it was a bit overwhelming. Here is where my disappointment comes into play. I called and explained the situation, which they completely understood and said they would try and work something out with us. GREAT!! I expected that there would be a fee and was willing to make it work. After the holidays, I received an email, with no details whatsoever explaining that this is the best they can do for them to help. I would have to pay $900 + tax = $977 on top of the 4700 I paid to downgrade 3 pieces and whatever else was incorporated in that. Let me reiterate there was no detailed explanation. I have never, in the many years of ordering furniture and maybe having to return or exchange a piece that is not suitable encountered this kind of customer service or better yet lack there of. This is by far the craziest thing I have ever witnessed ....and to think that they spoke so highly of their family owned business and customer service. This was not it....not ever. So do yourself a favor, think hard and twice before purchasing from this place because regardless of you doing your due diligence, if you encounter an issue it will not be resolved.....at least not for me. Maybe I look like I can afford to waste a whole other grand....which I don't and for the money these pieces cost there needs to be a better plan or department dealing with these sorts of situations. I am beyond crushed because I spent all that money just to have to deal with an item that doesn't fully meet my expectations. Great example of how an experience can be marred by the lack of care. Very disappointed by this whole affair...there aren't enough words. Shame on you to even think that is a solution....
