Where do I even begin with the sheer absurdity of my experience at this location? Let me be clear: this review isn't aimed at the brand as a whole, as I understand corporate policies aren’t always in the hands of franchisees or employees. But unfortunately, the brunt of my frustration has to land somewhere, and that somewhere is this specific location.
Now, let’s talk about the absolute nonsense that is only selling buntini cakes by the dozen. A dozen. Twelve. Are we running a bakery or a hostage situation? I don’t need twenty-four cake bites, I need SIXTEEN. But apparently, my $40 isn’t worth their time unless I hit some arbitrary “minimum” threshold, like I’m supposed to bow down to the almighty dozen or get lost. It’s not just baffling, it’s downright insulting. I can’t wrap my head around the idea that a business would actively turn down money over something so ridiculously petty.
This isn’t some exclusive, high-end confectionary we’re talking about—this is a bakery. In New York, of all places, where there’s a bakery on every corner that will gladly take my money and serve me exactly what I want. But no, instead I’m left with a sour taste in my mouth and a burning sense of injustice.
So, because of this laughable policy, I will never darken this store’s door again, not out of necessity but purely out of spite. There are literally hundreds of places that are just as good, if not better, and they won’t force me into a cake-based extortion scheme.
It’s bad enough to lose a customer, but it’s truly astonishing to turn one away over something so mind-numbingly ridiculous. You’ve lost me for good. Two stars because I used to be a fan, but it should be zero....
Read moreThis is an update. The customer service has greatly improved. The owner is more interactive with all customers. They just had a coupon for BOGO which was nice. I’ve resumed going and it been a good experience.
My niece told me about Nothing Bundt Cakes from her experience in Hartford, CT. So I was excited to see a location open in Nassau County. A bundlet which is a little larger than a cupcake is $6 which is fine. What drives my poor rating is the ownership/customer service. First they’re not open on Sundays. The day I drove there the owner happen to be there. Rather than him see a potential buyer and introduce himself or say something he kept silent. Today, I go and there’s a line. He sees the line but keeps having a personal conversation with his company shirt on. I purchase a bundtlet. As there is frosting and I wanted to eat it in between my errands I ask for a spoon or fork. They don’t provide any. She says they can’t provide them. If you don’t know why they do or don’t, they don’t make something up. Again, during this time, the owner is in earshot and says nothing. He just continues with his personal conversation. Pretty wack. For the price, should have better service and basic amenities. Not each a napkin. Maybe good service from s only relegated for certain people. You would think as a new operator and owner you would at least provide a hello or appreciation of service to...
Read moreMy friend drove us here after shopping at the mall because I love NBC but I live in the city. Our mistake for not checking the store hours; we arrived 15 minutes after closing. :(
Mike just happened to come out and saw us staring at the cake poster like two sad lil puppies. He asked if we wanted to buy some and we said yes. HE PROCEEDED TO INVITE US INSIDE SO WE CAN MAKE OUR PURCHASE!!
Mike, thank you so much for being so kind in allowing us to make a purchase even when you were closed. You are so sweet and greeted us warmly!!
I got seven bundtlets for myself LOL and opened a few when I got home. I have tried all the flavors before except the churro + dulce de leche, as I missed their first launch of this flavor. It is SOOO GOOD!! I am so happy to support a brand that consistently makes quality cakes, but today’s experience at this location just solidified my loyalty to NBC.
I will be throwing away my retirement savings at this location. STELLAR SERVICE!!
If you’ve never had NBC, you won’t get the hype until you’ve tried the cake yourself. Super moist and the cream cheese frosting balances out the flavor of the cake. They are freezer friendly! I freeze the bundtlets in the containers they come in and then when I am ready to eat one, I leave it out on my counter so it can come to room temp and it tastes just as fresh like when I...
