J & J Bagel & Deli — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

I was in the area for business, and, as I typically do when traveling, I researched the best places to eat and found good reviews for J&J. After ending a day a little early at the job site, a co-worker and I decided to go somewhere to set-up a mobile workstation and eat. I suggested we go here (which was about 10 miles in the opposite direction of our hotel). I had my mind set on a very simple dish (a sliced toasted poppy seed bagel and omelet to put between the two slices). J&J's has a special that includes an omelet, home fries & a bagel. No brainer, I went with that. Unfortunately they had run out of home fries so I suggested a comparable replacement or a reduction in cost to which the person I think to be the owner said no. It's not an exceptionally big deal but it's horrible customer service. Maybe if I we hadn't passed so many other eateries and gone so far out of our way (20 miles rdtrp) to go to J&J's (for me, it was the draw of a really good bagel sandwich...lol), then it wouldn't be so bad, but it was a bad experience that could've been avoided if some measure of a customer service perspective was undertaken by the owner. I truly hope my race (black) had nothing to do with his curt and uncompromising position...they didn't have a 1/3 of the items in their special yet insisted on charging me the full price without discussion or a sense of...

They prepare your order exactly how you want them to. I asked for a chicken salad i ordered 1/4 pound also added avocados but asked for that and the italien dressing to be on the side. When it arrived to my house a couple slices of avocados were in a food container attached with a tiny container containing chicken and the other containing a good amount of dressing. The amount of chicken seemed to be tiny until i placed it out on the plate. I smashed it with the avocodo and spread italien dressing. Boy was that the freshest thing i have tasted in a while! It also filled me up but i also ordered a grilled cheese sandwich on garlic bread with turkey bacon and that was huge. It was bigger than a regular bagel bread. I could not finish the sandwich because everything else filled me up. The juice was also very fresh. Just what my body was craving! Nutritionally...

I have never left a negative review in my life. But I guess there is a first time for everything. J&J Bagel Store is Carle Place Is very unprofessional, not very friendly, the owner is not very nice. “He yells and curses at his customers”. This is by far the worst deli in the area. Avoid at all cost. I think that you can expect some sort of standard when you go to a deli to get something to eat. Unfortunately, the standard at this deli was very poor. Where do I start? Having entered the deli, the cleanliness is of the deli is ABSOLUTELY disgusting. Boxes all over, boxes of chips in the refrigerator (used as a display), refrigerators are very dirty inside.
