This hotel went down hill from the last time I stayed here a year ago coming to find out they home and shelter the homeless in Dutchess county area as a full paying customer is discusting and very uncomfortable especially the outside and lobby breakfast area the people in there and my room also room 318 was infested with cockroaches and had to replace and clean all my stuff and then the room I was also out in as soon as I checked in I realized the previous person who ever stayed in there and I am sure it was a social service homeless person they wrote all over my night stand between the bed so I walked in to damaged furniture and then cockroaches in the room scary experience and the hotel charge cleared asap fast and they claim they accommodated me and sent a receipt saying they fully refunded me and to this point I still don’t have the refund which is ridiculous being all I went through and how fast the original charge hit my account and now the refund the full refund they said they gave me is taken all this extra time I also filed a dispute claim with my bank I am totally devastated all I went through and my vacation was destroyed and all I went through now waiting all this time to get my funds back and had to throw out all my luggage what I couldn’t clean so huge loss and then lost my vacation and honestly, I don’t understand. I also found out they cater to the locals not only the homeless charging the locals only $50 a night but me as an outsider from a different area. I’m charged the $106 before taxif they hadn’t refunded it. i’m just highly disappointed and at first they only wanted to refund two nights until I told them I was gonna take the pictures to code enforcement and posted on the BBB Better Business Bureau website like how are you gonna refuse to refund something when you put them in a roach infested hotel, and not tell them all these details such as your house homeless people through your whole property personally, Choice Hotels should be sued as well because families that bring children in here it’s an unsafe hotel. it’s not only the owner of the hotel this hotel carries the Choice Hotels logo and name you’re supposed to be sending and providing families with a safe place to lay their head. It’s beyond ridiculous and I would like Corporate from Choice Hotels to reach out to me as well with the phone number. that’s on my account and then they finally after me arguing refunded the whole three nights first it was two nights then after the argument, they did all three nights. I’m really really upset. All I went through and still waiting for the money but somehow or the other, the original charge posted in one day unacceptable and they’re still renting rooms online when their hotel is invested with roaches. I don’t understand that Choice Hotels is not nothing even corporate letting them rent rooms that have roaches in them. I just want my money back that’s it and I’m done emailing the hotel. They said they gave me my money back while I’m still not seeing it and somehow or the other it posted on their end in one day when they took the money from me I need some kind of reference number to prove they did the refund attached to each refund, and that was never done. Either my opinion this hotel needs to be shut down when there’s roaches in it they carry disease and breed disease roaches then people that they house in there that are homeless damaging their property. Their furniture just sad I used to stay there a year ago and it was a...
Read moreI was specifically looking for somewhere to stay that would take pets due to the fact that I have a new beagle puppy. My daughter and I chose this hotel, and it was a HUGE mostake! Yesterday my daughter wanted to go in the pool, so of course we took the dog with us. there were no signs in or around the pool area stating the dog couldn’t be in the pool area. As we were leaving the pool A front desk staff came to me and asked me if the dog went in the water I said no she said OK. The dog is not allowed to. I said, don’t worry he won’t and hasnt. Then she proceeded to tell me the dog couldn’t even be in the pool area at all. I was embarrassed and apologetic, she said it was Ok lets just make sure it doesn't happen again, she was very nice. the next morning (still half asleep) I go to get breakfast in the lobby and was immediately attacked by the property manager. The property manager started yelling at me telling me my dog was in the pool water and she’s kicking us out now. I was completely shocked. I told her I didn’t like her tone with me. She continued to yell at me. after that embarrassing altercation I go back to my room and call her over the phone because I was still in shock. I didn’t understand why the day before everything was OK with the front desk staff, and now the property manager the next morning is so aggressive. I started off the conversation with saying I apologize I just woke up. I was in shock and tried to explain that my dog wasn’t in the water. How do we fix this because our current living situation isn’t the best and I started to get emotional. The property manager then started to make fun of me because I was crying, adding at the end of the conversation” don’t try to cry now it’s too late you’re getting kicked out you gotta go!” Then she pursued to call the police on me as I was packing up my room to go. I have never been more embarrassed in my life. After speaking to Poughkeepsie police, they said the property manager does this ALL THE TIME! they CONSTANTLY kick people out for no reason. they said it’s a huge problem for them theyre always there and usually for nothing at all. The embarrassment was not worth the cheap room, but that behavior was completely uncalled for an...
Read moreJust an update on the post I posted earlier the only good thing this hotel did for me was actually after all I lost was finally refunded what I paid and honestly it will be my last ever staying there and it’s sad because years I always loved and enjoyed my trips here up till this year going all the way back when it was days inn. I lost over $300 worth of luggage when I came home forced to throw all out and replace all everything I brought to not risk my apartment of roaches and bed bugs. What killed this property what the homeless it serves as a shelter in Poughkeepsie scary stuff especially knowing the walks of life like ex prisoners who can’t work and then the thought of children coming with families there on vacation Dutchess county is getting worse same thing happened in Hyde park to the Vanderbilt motel it’s a homeless shelter sad can’t vacation in Poughkeepsie anymore sadly. Second update on top of getting my money returned I was in the hospital all bit up from bed bugs in the bed that I never knew was in the bed till the bites showed up and that was it on top of the roaches I just will never ever return and pray this review helps others especially with kids. I will never say this place can’t be good again, but they would have to stop accepting the homeless and redo the whole place fully fumigate bomb every hotel room in the whole property and totally renovate it because as of now it’s a said and done deal and the only reason I’m posting this is because I have two children and my kids are my world and I worry about families bringing their kids into the situation on top of what I was dealing with. Couldn’t even be in the room upstairs I was afraid in the lobby and I’m a guy the type of people that were in the lobby Outside. There were people talking to themselves yelling and screaming at me in front of the property when I was on my phone just very sad but the positive update I will give the hotel. They did refund me as they promised it helped but it didn’t touch the pain and the loss that I went through expensive clothing, expensive luggage But...
