Well I had been highly referred to go there. I loved the store. I had dealt with an older rep, when I had first walked in and she was lovely at the time, AS Long as I was buying! I had put something on layaway and unfortunately with circumstances I had to cancel. I had also brought in a bangle bracelet. IT was a hollow bangle about an inch thick, with very intricate scroll work. It needed repair. THis btw is before gold skyrocketed to a higher amount. I was expecting about $50-$100 in repairs the most basically. When I got there I was slammed with over $250-275 in repairs. I was so disappointed. The repair was not that great, u could tell the difference completely, ALso the inside piece that keeps the bangle together, was shortened(I do not know the exact name it is called so please forgive.) I was severely disappointed on many levels. The rep, was like well that is all we could do, and well thats it. For a fact I know it wasn't that short, it was a family heirloom which was given to me by my fiancee. BTW, that woman who did help me,(I remember her name but keeping it quiet, since it is the internet).....ignored me every other time I came into the store and gave me an attitude, Which did leave a terrible impression on me! NOw.......that is the bad review. The good review, is when my fiance and I walked in again. I had wanted to give it another try. That day was our anniversary, we both bought together each other something for a gift....IT was adorable I think anyway. And the rep, I cannot remember her name did make it memorable. Also the owner who was an older gentlemen was pleasant when I had walked in again. But it has been a while since I have visited the store again, here is why...... Since the terrible repair, and also the items we did buy each the anniversary day, Well the anklet completely fell apart, what my fiance bought btw which was 14kt gold with hearts. I will think twice if I want to try again....but hey sometimes people have a bad day? But 2x to have such an experience I do not know. Too bad also, I love the antique and...
Read moreThank you, Zimmer Brothers, for the absolute best in excellent customer service regarding my recent inquiry of the possibility of placing my diamond in a pendant with a specific chain request in mind. Having had recommendations from others who had very favorable experiences with the company, I decided to call Zimmer Brothers, at which time, I was connected to and spoke with Deidre. She explained the procedure and workmanship involved in removing the diamond from its ring setting and placing it in a pendant most suitable for the cut of the diamond (the diamond ring was my mother’s 70+ year old engagement ring). Deidre also researched my request for an adjustable white gold double chain of specific lengths and she sent me a photo of one that was exactly what I had in mind - white gold and can be worn at a 16” or 18” length, just perfect!!! The diamond was mounted in the pendant and placed on the necklace, for delivery to me. I enjoyed speaking with them, as they listened and worked to finish and deliver my custom designed product to me. Deidre and Jocelyn were most proficient in addressing my questions and concerns along the way, as this was a new experience for me. I received my beautiful necklace today, and I couldn’t be happier with the end result the diamond’s beauty is revealed in the gorgeous pendant setting and the glistening chain is perfect - I am so thankful to have made this connection I am confident that I received the best and most trustworthy customer service from this company!
I very highly recommend Zimmer Brothers ~ the company has been around for 125 + years and, from my experience with them, this comes as no surprise to me! Their honesty & integrity was prevalent throughout my entire transaction and I am confident that this will be the experience shared by all who do business with them! If I could give them 100 stars, I would!!!!
Thank you, Deidre & Jocelyn, I love...
Read moreTwo words....shop around.... Zimmer brothers is a showroom for jewelry, it's not a jewelry store. When you buy from Zimmer brothers you are going to pay top dollar for your jewelry. Is it beautiful? Of course, gold and diamonds are beautiful. You can get the exact same quality at a much lower price elsewhere, especially if you buy online. I always try to support local businesses so I came here to purchase a 25th anniversary ring for my wife. A prong had broken on her original ring and she lost the diamond after 20 years of use. When I saw how beautiful her original ring looked with a new diamond I decided to get that fixed first and get the new ring the next year. I paid top dollar for the best diamond I could get for the setting. The ring was beautiful. UNFORTUNATELY, after just a few months 2 prongs broke on the ring. My wife hit it against a door frame, nothing unusual. Fortunately, she realized it and found the diamond. Obviously, something wrong with the setting, too small? Weak prongs? I'm not a jeweler, but I do know that a setting has to last more than a few months. To my shock, Zimmer brothers would not stand behind their work. Their defense, basically, they are a showroom not a jeweler. They have to send out the ring for repair and they refused to absorb the cost. If they have to send out their work to a real jeweler then you might as well send it out yourself. I can get it fixed myself for the same price as their "discounted" price that they offered. As more and more purchases are made online Zimmer brothers days are numbered. The only advantage that a brick and mortar business has, is the interaction with the customers. Zimmer brothers fell way short. The only upside to this whole experience is that I learned my lesson before I purchased...
