A bedtime story...

So, as a businessperson, I'm usually pretty sharp with the purchase of any goods or services-except when it comes to bedding; in which case I've been a "three time loser" over the last 20 years or so, never finding a mattress that does the trick of getting me and my wife a decent night's sleep.

I vowed this time would be different, but with all the new "bed in a bag" market entrants, the litany of choices, and a host of unscrupulous sellers-looking to quickly separate me from my hard earned cash, I was very pessimistic.

I started looking at Google reviews of local bedding stores, and more importantly, their sales people. I came across Joe & Justin from Sleep Firm and read their reviews-they sounded too good to be believable, but the shop was a stone's throw from the YMCA, where I was headed anyway, so I figured what the heck.

Joe greeted me at the door and could NOT have been nicer, more professional, or more knowledgeable. He really took the time to ask questions about our sleep habits and then had us lay on different mattresses to show the finer points of each-including adjustable frames. Convinced and won over, he was just as thorough when it was time to buy, pointing out (and highlighting!) all the salient details of the purchase, so there would be no "gotchas."

No pushy sales tactics, no gimmicks, no fast talk. All business and honesty. Trust me when I tell you that people like Joe are rare... A throwback to a different era when it comes to sales and business.

Today i decided i needed a new bed, as the bed i currently possess is ten+ years old. As i was asking around for recommendations, a good friend of mine told me to use Mattress Firm. So, he gave me the number and i was able to talk with Justin about all of the questions I’d had about beds I’d found in their online stock. Justin was able to answer all of my questions and i was able to go in tonight to look at different mattresses and just try them out. Not once did he try selling me on particular beds and even vocalized the price range of one of the beds I’d spoken to him about prior to make sure we stayed in that range. He had me try out all of the different types of mattresses to see which type of firmness fit me best, and once we’d found the one, we sat down to see what finance options we were able to get, to decide if that was the route i was going to take. Not only was he able to get me an amazing bed and adjustable base, but it was even well in my price range and at a knockout price! Justin was a pleasure to work with and i will definitely be recommending all of my friends go to him for their mattress buying needs! My husband and I went to Mattress Firm after trying a few other stores and eventually buying a mattress online (which we hated and ended up returning). Joe was so patient. My husband has back problems and lots of aches and pains. Joe walked us through the features of a ton of different mattresses without pressuring us to buy a specific one. We were there for a long time. My husband finally picked out a mattress. After sleeping on it for six weeks, he wasn't happy. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the mattress. The problem was 100% my husband's body. He contacted Joe and told him how he had been feeling. We went back in to the store and picked out a different mattress. Mattress Firm picked up the mattress we were returning and dropped off the new mattress. The exchange was super easy. My husband is finally happy with our mattress. I can't believe how patient and accommodating Mattress Firm has been. They really went above and beyond. I don't think we'll ever shop at another mattress store again.
