My girlfriend and I planned to spend three nights here during Easter weekend, hoping to do some hiking and explore the mountains while also having a relaxing place to stay, the hot tub being the main reason we chose to stay here. An hour before we were allowed to check in, we received a call from management that our unit we chose was suddenly unavailable and were being “upgraded” to a different unit, which ended up being one of the mirror cabins.
When we finally got inside, we were disappointed to see that the place had obviously not been prepped or cleaned before our arrival. There was no trash bag in the trash, barely any toilet paper, and the rug underneath the bed hadn’t been vacuumed and was covered in previous guests hair and crumbs. To make matters worse, the hot tub was had yellow water and the smell of chemicals was overpowering enough to sting our eyes. Pretty disappointing to have the one thing we were looking forward to be unusable!
Before going out for dinner that night, we couldn’t figure out how to lock the door to the cabin with the digital pin pad, despite calling management and being instructed by them. Eventually I was able to get it to work by hitting random buttons. When we came back later, we were unable to unlock the door with the code we were originally provided that worked earlier. We had to call management yet again, who weren’t much help and offered a different code which didn’t work either. Finally, the original code decided to work randomly after being stuck outside for over five minutes!
If we didn’t live over three hours away, we likely would have left and headed home right then and there. We probably had to phone management at least five times in a matter of a few hours since arriving due to various issues and questions, who were apparently somewhere in New Jersey. Thankfully, whoever was answering the calls picked up the phone every time we called, and we ended up getting a full refund after spending just the one night and leaving for home first thing in the morning.
What should have been a memorable and relaxing weekend away for us in this beautiful part of the state ended up leaving us with a huge headache and disappointment, and I’m not quite sure how this place has such high reviews given our disastrous...
Read moreOur group of 6 stayed in the Franklin Suite (2 bed/2 bath) from Oct 11-14. We expected a higher-quality, more consistent experience than Airbnb, but it was mixed. The space is promising but suffers from poor quality control, maintenance, housekeeping, furnishing, and understated décor. Management is responsive, but be prepared to request many things to get the experience you want.
Bedrooms: Spacious and comfortable, but one had a large bug on the wall that wasn’t cleaned, and a window in the king room wouldn't shut properly.
Bathrooms: Nicely renovated with good water pressure. However, toiletries seemed to be filled with generic soap, and we had to request more towels as only four were provided initially (and no wash cloths provided initially).
Living Room: Comfortable seating but insufficient for the 6-8 person capacity. Décor was minimal, and the fireplace lacked tools. Maintenance issues included a crooked TV and dirty sliding doors.
Dining Room: Table was nice but only had four chairs, so we had to bring in outdoor chairs to accommodate six people.
Outdoor Deck: Large with great views, but the hot tub wasn’t clean, and only three chairs were provided for the table. We had to request extra towels for the hot tub as no pool towels were provided.
Kitchen: We planned to cook breakfast and dinner but found the kitchen severely understocked. It included a few small to medium pots and pans, plates, bowls, and flatware for one meal for six people, 4-5 non-matching drinking glasses, 5 regular mugs and a few very small ones, 3 wine glasses, 1 champagne glass, a full set of utensils, a colander, one cutting board, and a knife set. However, it lacked basic items like enough flatware, matching drinking glasses, kitchen towels, oven mitts, a 9x13 baking dish, and a wine opener. Many of the dishes weren’t fully clean. While management provided some requested items (like a cookie sheet, extra wine glasses, new pots and pan set, and detergent), other essential items were never supplied, and the initial lack of kitchenware showed a lack of anticipation of guest needs.
In summary, while the space has potential, the overall guest experience is highly involved, with many requests needed to make the stay...
Read moreOur experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing, particularly regarding the promised amenities and the quality of service.
Non-Functional Sauna and Jacuzzi: • You specifically chose this hotel for its sauna and jacuzzi; however, upon arrival, you found that the sauna was out of order. • The hotel management was aware of this issue but failed to inform you in advance, indicating a clear lack of integrity. • When you requested a refund or an alternative solution, you were met with complete indifference and a refusal to refund your money.
Deplorable Jacuzzi Condition: • On the first day, the water in the jacuzzi had such an unpleasant odor that using it was impossible, leading to deep disappointment and a sense of being deceived. • The smell dissipated only after the water was replaced, but the initial impression was irreparably ruined.
Utter Indifference from Management: • The hotel management exhibited absolute apathy towards your concerns, taking no steps to improve the situation or offer compensation for the inconveniences. • Such behavior gives the impression that the hotel is engaging in outright fraud, misleading guests about the services provided.
Lack of Privacy: • The curtains on the large windows were too small to fully cover them, allowing outsiders to see inside. • This created a sense of insecurity and lack of privacy, especially considering that anyone could access the second floor without your knowledge.
Discrepancy with Advertised Standards: • The photos and descriptions on the hotel’s website do not match reality, misleading guests and constituting blatant deception. • You paid a substantial amount ($3,000 for 3 days) for services that were not provided, which is unacceptable.
Conclusion: • This hotel exemplifies unscrupulous business practices, where management deliberately deceives guests, fails to deliver promised services, and takes no responsibility for the quality of service. • You strongly advise against staying at this establishment to avoid disappointment and financial loss.
I hope this warning to other travelers about the potential risks of choosing this hotel will help a lot people not to be scammed...
