We had a very lovely stay at the Herwood Inn which is in short walking distance to everything Woodstock has to offer. We stayed at the Mitchell Manor, a cozy cottage separated from the main house, that had everything you could wish for; including a nice Birthday surprise from the owners for my partner who were not just very responsive throughout the booking process but also checked in regularly during our stay to make sure we feel comfortable! A cozy bed, comfortable sheets, plush towels, and a private fenced patio rounded up the wonderful staying experience in the Mitchell Manor.

The accommodation, as well as the entire property, is in impeccable condition and you can really tell how much love and thought was put into the overall design and setup; such as the stylish common area with hot tub or the record player inside the room with some nice classics to get you into the spirit of Woodstock’s history. The Inn only has four rooms, making your stay feel private and more intimate, especially valuable for those who also seek some relaxation while enjoying the beautiful nature in the Hudson Valley.

This place was pretty alright. Honestly not, fully, my cup of tea. From the moment I pulled up I knew something seemed weird. Almost like a ghostly spirt lurked the hallways. Ooooo scary, I know right. On day one my bedroom door shut a couple of times on its own and no matter what I did it would always find a way to close again; even after I propped it open with a chair. On day two I felt a weird cold breeze in my room; even though it was a dry summers day in mid December and all the windows were closed. The weirdest thing of all happened on day three. I figured out it wasn't actually summer time and another guest staying at the hotel was responsible for closing my door, on day one, because I was being to loud. That's what I get for wearing ear plugs and pretending to be deaf so I can get a discount on my stay. Man, does not being able to hear really mess with my senses. I don't recommend that one all all. But I do have to say that the beds were superb and extra super comfortable. I totally recommend the mattress brand, whatever that is. 3 stars totally means I'll be back...
