Weekend in Woodstock w/Goat Yoga & Secret Swimming Hole

We found this place by chance while driving in the middle of nowhere because I was hungry and typed, "vegan " into my Google maps app... thank you Google, you've changed our lives lol. Garden Cafe is an absolute gem of an experience. The people are wonderful here. The owner, Lia is such a warm and sweet woman and she truly cares about her customers and their experience. They have fresh juices here, Lee made us some great ones on our last visit. In the warmer months they have a GORGEOUS back yard you can dine in. Indoors is no less of an experience. Simple and modest but completely and utterly charming. The warm atmosphere both inside and out will capture you and make you feel as though you entered a beautifully laid out hobbit hole lol. THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Now, let's be honest, not all vegan food is healthy and not all vegan food tastes good...Garden Cafe is both! It'll completely satisfy whatever your desire may be. Whether you want fresh, delicious, healthy vegan food or warm, savory vegan comfort food. From the soup to the dessert everything is on point. If nothing that I've wrote above appeals to you then I'll give it to you short and sweet: My family and I drive over 2 hours from Queens, N.Y. just to eat here and it's worth it every time. Shout out to, Kylla who was our server on this most recent visit, she was great in every regard!

We visited Woodstock for the first time, and being vegan, this 100% vegan place was on my must eat at list! We came in for lunch. The place has adorable decor- we just fell in love with the place before even eating! They had a wonderful color theme of grays, whites, and pastels along with a very rustic country feel. Our waitress was very friendly, welcoming us to the town, and helped answer a few tourist questions for us. I got the mushroom panini- to die for! A wonderful sized sandwich, with a vegan buttery crispy bread layered between warm mushrooms, caramelized onions and some sort of sauce that just went so well with the flavor. For desert I had the vegan mouse which was just as wonderful! Super thick, rich and creamy chocolate with coconut shreds sprinkled on top. My friend got a salad with cornbread which she said was very good, and loved her desert which was the granola and ice cream. They have a bar in the cafe as well, so we got the warm apple cider with sake which was wonderful and great to warm us up after a cold day in Woodstock. I have read many reviewers saying the food here is wonderful, and it is so true! Local, fresh, vegan food that is served with a smile. Next time while returning to Woodstock, we will eat here for a second time... and my mouth will water for that mushroom sandwhich.

A Consistent Gem in Woodstock Every visit to Woodstock feels incomplete without a meal at this delightful restaurant, which has quickly become a staple for us whenever we're in town. With its perfect blend of creativity, flavor, and a focus on healthy ingredients, this spot offers an exceptional meal every time. The menu has a variety of dishes that are both nourishing and inventive, demonstrating the chef’s talent for turning fresh, wholesome ingredients into something truly special. Whether you’re craving a vibrant vegetable-based dish or vegan protein with an unexpected twist, the offerings here are always crafted with care and an eye for balance. The flavors are rich but never overwhelming, and the use of seasonal, locally sourced ingredients ensures that each plate feels fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The plates are large—perfect for those who want a hearty meal or those who want to share- that satisfy without feeling heavy. It's a place where you can indulge in delicious, healthy food and leave feeling energized, not sluggish. What truly sets this restaurant apart is its consistent quality. We’ve been here numerous times over the years, and each visit has been marked by impeccable service and a consistently excellent meal. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, making it the ideal spot for a leisurely lunch in the Garden (or inside when it's cold) after exploring the beauty of Woodstock. It's easy to see why it has garnered such a loyal following. If you're looking for delicious, healthy food made in creative ways, with large portions that never skimp on quality, this place is a true standout. Highly...

Hubby and I seek out vegan resturants on our travels. We live in an area that has none. :( we have eaten at vegan resturants all along the east coast including (very frequently NYC - lots of yummy options) I have to say that The Garden Cafe in Woodstock is my personal favorite! We were golfing in the Catskills and found this Gem on google. It is always difficult to find a place that feels like you are going out to a nice dinner vs having protein bowls, smoothies, etc. This was a wonderful date with an amazing full service menu. I cant critique anything about our experience. The place is charming. We were able to eat outside which was enchanting. Every single staff we encountered was so very friendly. Shout out to our server Lee who was a doll and made great suggestions. The place was FULL which made my heart happy to see so many people eating vegan. However the food will bring me back. We live 2.5 hrs away and we will make the trip again i promise. You dont need to be vegan to love this resturant, you just have to love good food. We got the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, hubs got the lasagne, and i ordered the cauliflower steak as entrees, we had drinks and 2 desserts. Our bill came to 102.00. Very reasonable for the quality of the food and how much we ordered. Everything was delicious. The portions were generous (although we didnt take any food home because we ate it all!) The only problem is that the cauliflower steak blew mine away and i have been dreaming of how to replicate that in my kitchen. I see the website even posts recipes so im going to try!! Great...

Let me say first that I love that this place is fully vegan, and I've been here theee separate times. I've been fully vegan for almost five years so I also understand that plant- based meals cost more considering that produce tends to be expensive. However, I couldn't help leaving a review after my disappointing meal yet again today. My boyfriend and I ate lunch at the Garden Cafe and we're quite unimpressed with our meals. I got a 12 dollar burrito and he got the special, at 14-16$ dollars. When we got our food I honestly wanted to say, "when are you bringing out the rest?" His meal looked like something you'd serve up in prison or something. It looked like it had been thrown together in three minutes (despite waiting 30 minutes for our food) We opened his burrio and there was maybe two slices of cucumber and one carrot, with a side of beans and rice. It probably cost them five dollars to make, and I'm sorry but that is NOT enough food when you're charging 14-16$ Especially on a plant based diet where you have to eat a higher volume of food to fill up. My meal was less then impressive too, it was thrown onto a plate and was a very small burrito. When we got out check and saw it was almost fifty dollars I was just straight pissed off. The food was meh, the service wasn't great and they are making an obscene amount of money off just "ok" specials. My advice if you're looking to head here is to pick another place, not only were we disappointed but we also left hungry. We had to eat again after leaving. Save your money and...
