Round Up Motel — Hotel in Tucson

EDIT: I take it back. Stay away from here at all costs. They will not stop causing you problems when you leave. We checked out a week ago and have gone back MULTIPLE times to check the mail, and were not told until TODAY that when you check out the just “return to sender” all your mail. It’s fine if they want to do that, but because they failed to tell us even with my boyfriend in their office multiple times in a week, our food card is lost. I’m guessing if you’re staying here it’s to help get back on your feet- they will impede you every step of the way, so just don’t bother. Absolutely disgusting. I didn’t even include the state of the rooms in my previous review: broken tile on the floor with sharp edges exposed, appliances that fail frequently, doors and windows that don’t lock. Just spend the extra $20/week and stay somewhere else!

It’s a place to go if you have literally nowhere else to stay, which is what happened to us. It’s the cheapest around, but for a reason. They call themselves a motel but act like angry landlords of a real apartment complex (without any of the benefits of a real complex.) No hospitality, strict rules (I got told I wasn’t allowed to run the room’s fan (FAN-not A/C!) and have the windows open at the same time... what good is a fan if there’s no air to circulate?), and BUGS. They have “housekeeping” that comes once a week and mops the floor without sweeping and runs a dirty rag over the stove, but everything else is left up to you and if you don’t keep it spotless they threaten to kick you out and tell you it’s your fault they have bugs. It got to a point where we were busting our butts cleaning the room DAILY and it didn’t matter, roaches everywhere. If you have to go to the office for something you’ll find some stiff but polite enough conversation, but that’s about as “friendly” as they get. Avoid if you can, but better than a shelter.

Oh, and they’ll claim that when you left they’re “missing towels” and keep all $100 of your deposit for it. I promise you the towels they had were not worth stealing and defi...

So from what I’ve read, these people threaten their patrons with no housing over quarrels with other people? They’ve asked what disability someone has for a service dog, which is against ADA, saying it wasn’t a service dog when in reality it was? They try and try to retaliate? My 19 yr old (barely) sister was staying here, and was short money and asked for another night because her boyfriend was about to get paid and she not only denied, but ridiculed them. Cool? Wanna act that way that’s fine. Lets not forget to mention the pill heads living there purposely neglecting their children on the premise, let’s not forget to mention the bugs, let’s mention how she threatened to sue my sister for “defamation” because my sisters boyfriend left a review she didn’t like, which is retaliation and bullying which is also not lawful. Now, if these grown people can be so disgusting and mean, so be it. I hope anyone who sees this review does not DOES NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE STAY HERE. THESE PEOPLE ARE HORRIBLE. If these people would like to talk to the person leaving this review they know who to do. Threatening to kick someone out because they’re gonna take my baby sister to phx so she’s not becoming completely homeless is low. My fiance and I stayed here for a month... The Roaches were so bad we bought bug spray as well as bombs to set off nothing got rid of them. Management there was rude. We were there to relax and sleep In. But every Monday they came knocking on our door to clean . Which we did our selves but if we didn't allow them in. We chance of loosing our deposit. In which we did. I lost the key to our room . So they said 5.00 fee. Plus deposit. We lost our. Deposit. Cause of. It. We kept the room cleaner and did our own linen and they charge 1.00 for toilet paper. I found the key to the room And tried it and it still worked. They never changed the lock .. they cheat you out of your deposit. . They are crooks and theives that run and own the place. For a few dollars more I suggest else where. I'll never stay...
