Pizza Hut has never delivered to our house. We used to call the Cottondale store (by Harley Davidson) directly for pickup orders, then sent through their drive through. Easy-peasey! If you called the only published Pizza Hut number it took forever to place simple orders, it took longer till it was ready & it was often incorrect. Then a couple of years ago they built Dominos, about 2 miles away. They're accurate, friendly, delish & so fast the food is often still steaming. So my husband wanted something different after watching Pizza Hut ads all Thanksgiving weekend. I looked online, said orders would take about 40 minutes. As I completed payment, it said our dinner would ready in 25 minutes. I placed the order for pickup at the location on Oscar Baxter Road. I know Cracker Barrell is on Oscar Baxter, so I assumed that was our usual location. Well... that location had been shuttered. I see there is a pizza hut on Skyland & at Lowe's. I head to Lowe's. It's a teensy building, no windows, I drive around it looking for the entrance. I missed it the first time. There are 2 chairs on each side of the single door. (Maybe just 1 on the right.) That's the entire width of the area. There's a solid door and small counter with one register. Ther overwhelming smell instantly carried me back to days of working in a local pizza joint some 30 years ago. There was a man standing at the counter & a woman sitting. The girl working the register was not unpleasant but definitely seemed frustrated. That's when I remembered how much trouble calling that main number used to be. Ther man collected his order and I approached, said i had an online order & the name. She didn't see it, scheeff if it could be something else (no)... then she saw it. The advertised, $10 Tastemaker pizza, 8 pc boneless wings & garlic cheese knots. She stepped away, looking at the boxes...i realized it had been 45 minutes since i ordered, figured she'd be handing over my food any minute. Again i was wrong. Another man walked in. I sat down by rhe woman to get out of the way. He had an order, cash in hand, she had some trouble finding his order, then she saw it. She vanished for a couple of minutes, reappeared with his order, he paid and left. I noticed the walls in our tiny area looked beat up and dirty. Another man entered & approached the register; she appeared with 2 boxes, looked at me and waved to step forward. I was about to open the smaller box on top, then thought I better not (covid), so i stood there. She was looking for the man's order in the register/computer then found it. She indicated that ther 2 boxes in front of me were mine, so I opened the top to find bread & said 'I guess I'm just missing the wings.' She looked a little surprised, then started looking at the details on boxes on the left on an inside counter. Then she vanished, then reappeared and went through a door to the back and returned seconds later with a black clamshell and placed it atop my 2 boxes with a slight smile. I don't recall her saying anything. I turned to leave, saying, 'good luck,' to the woman still sitting. I placed the food in the floor on the backseat. I got in the car and something smelled funny. NOT like bad food, just not the smell I expected. I drove home and we opened the food. The 8 pc boneless spicy garlic wings were in a pinkish sauce. None of them looked anything like wings. Or even tenders. More like several widely varying sized pieces of battered protein in a Chinese dish. Definitely more than 8, probably more like 15-20, but many were really small - like size of a pencil eraser. The largest was probably the size of half my thumb, (maybe 2 of those) . None was near a mouthful. They were not at all warm so I stuck the container in the microwave about 30sec. (Much better warm!) Despite the description, they did actually taste good, but not at all spicy. Though I think several were just pieces of batter, no chicken. The cheese filled garlic knots were also cold; the box was really paper thin. It came with a cup of...
Read moreMy first experience here was 5 stars. Well I ordered Thursday and my 2 pizzas was wrong. I kept calling and they said they was busy call back. Well after calling for the final time that night. Someone tells me they will call me back. So I wait and decide to call back around 24 hours hoping the same crew will be there so it wouldn’t be difficult to get something done. I am told they can’t do anything with without the food being returned. Like why not tell me that the first time I called the previous night . After arruging for 20mins I’m told I can have a $10 credit and if I bring the half thr pizza I have left they will make me half a pizza. After I advise them how I have been recording the entire conversation it’s changed to they will remake the one pizza and credit me $10. So I put my order in go pick it . They was incredibly busy as usual the manger a little rude to me. They had it to me off the counter I walk out not thinking anything ya know. As hard of a time as the manger gave me I was assured my food would be perfect exactly what I ordered . Nope!!!! Once again my meat lovers had ham! My super supreme was supposed to be no onions or pepperoni on one half. There was extra extra onions all the way around. She tells me since I didn’t get what I wanted then why did I eat it? I told her well if she must know the meat loves was really for my husband and kids and I wanted one slice for me without ham. That’s my choice so ya my kids was just fine with eating it how it was but I wasn’t . Then if she must know the super supreme was for me and my mom. She never eats onions and doesn’t care for pepperoni. So for me the supreme was fine for me but my mom it was not. This was what was said the first time. After receiving my half make up order completely wrong again I gave up they aren’t gonna do anything but complain about doing there job the one they get paid to do. They are gonna blame it on me once again. So avoid this location...
