Check in is more involved than other hotels I’ve stayed at which was slightly annoying, but i understand that corporate wants it that way... it’s not the front desk persons fault... they did a good job following company policy. The room itself is ok, besides the busted top lock. The back entrance constantly had a heavy rock to keep the door open, and the card reader on the door, literally next to that other door, doesn’t even lock, so there’s not really a reason why the stone is needed. I definitely don’t feel safe. Think the room was dusty or something, my allergies flared up a little... not normal for me, I’m usually not the person with sniffles and the such. Other guests had screaming kids into the late hours and someone above my room was stomping around all night and early morning. 2:55am still stomping. I can’t sleep. The breakfast is wrapped muffins and oatmeal packets, nothing hot and fresh, but coffee and tea with flavored creamer. Not a fan of Virginia to start with, so this isn’t adding to my disdain. PS, the room door handles twist up to open.

I stayed here for one month. The low price was the only reason. However, you get what you pay for. Very dirty rooms, below standard cleaning that didn't even follow their own company policies. There were a lot more difficulties than you would at another hotel chain. The "breakfast" is misleading, as its only one type of coffee, hot water and prepackaged muffins/snack bars. It took days to get any utensils and cook ware, and when i did it was dirty as if they didnt clean it. The only thing on time and reliable was at exactly 930am everyday they will remove the coffee/snacks out the lobby so no one can enjoy it. The staff at the front desk are very friendly, but not very capable. It seems as if they were never trained and just learn as they go.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Extended Stay America in Tysons Corner and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The spacious rooms, equipped with kitchenettes, provided a comfortable and convenient environment for my stay. The hotel's prime location, within walking distance of Tysons Corner Center and Tysons Galleria, made shopping and dining exceptionally convenient. The complimentary grab-and-go breakfast was a thoughtful touch, offering a variety of options to start the day. Most notably, the staff were outstanding—professional, friendly, and attentive to every need, ensuring a memorable and pleasant stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

I felt it’s my responsibility to write this review so that anyone considering this facility knows what to expect, especially those who consider cleanliness a priority for their stay. I also hope the hotel management team will see this review and take serious actions to improve their house cleaning team and have real cleaning process and procedures, so that future customers do not have to go through our suffering.

I booked this hotel for its location and the availability of kitchenette as we need to stay in the McLean area for multiple weeks, and I thought it’s best to be able to cook if I want to. I did go through some reviews online that mentioned this hotel as very basic, and some reviews mentioned it’s quite clean. So I thought as long as it’s clean and safe, I don’t mind it being basic (I’ve seen this hotel chain in my local town from the outside, but not inside). But we decided to check out early after experiencing the unprofessional cleaning practice.

First to be fair the front desk personnel have been very friendly throughout our stay. After checking into the room which is kind of rundown, I found hair on the shower wall. That should’ve sounded the alarm, but I brushed it off after reading the 10-point inspection system posted on the bathroom wall, which includes a final inspection by the manager. I figured everyone makes a mistake sometimes. But what happened next is completely not what I expected. I was told at check-in that the cleaning will be done once a week on Sundays. However the cleaning was not done the Sunday one week after our stay, although according to the cleaning sheet shown to me by front desk my room had been cleaned that day. I ended up getting the new towels myself from the front desk. The following Sunday I was assured by the front desk that my room will be cleaned that day. It didn’t happen! On Sunday night I informed the front desk that my room hadn’t been cleaned yet, as the tissue paper and pillow I left on the floor purposely were still on the floor, and the towels were on the bathroom floor as well. Again the front desk showed me the cleaning sheet that had my room checked off, meaning it’s been cleaned. After my explanation they assured me that my room would be cleaned on Monday.

On Monday afternoon the cleaning person finally showed up. She was not happy!! Things were suspicious from the start. First in all other hotels that I stayed before, I always saw the cleaning personnel have clean towels folded nicely and neatly in the cart, and some bag to hold the dirty ones. When this cleaning person came in, she had the towels loosely thrown on her arms, so I couldn’t really tell if they were clean towels or not. Then she sat the bathroom garbage can on the sink countertop! That’s where our skincare stuff and my daughter’s contact and contact solution were put! Then she closed the bathroom door and I couldn’t see what she did inside afterwards.

The next day after the cleaning was done, my daughter started to have a headache and her throat hurt too. On Wednesday she started to feel uncomfortable in her right eyes, red but not itchy, with a lot of drainages. On Thursday her left eye became really red too. It got so bad that I had to take her to the urgent care on Friday as the OTC eye drop didn’t work. The doctor did some testing, it’s not strep throat, not COVID, not flu. So he prescribed antibiotic eye drops and told her to take DayQuils. It’s been 3 days now, and she’s doing much better.

We decided to check out early after seeing the doctor and thinking back on what we’ve seen during the cleaning. I called reservation center and confirmed we are allowed to check out early without any penalty since we’ve stayed for over 2 weeks. However at checkout I found the hotel adjusted the rate higher for checking out early.

I hope my review brings some light and will result in positive change to this hotel, then at least something positive comes out of this very negative...

This is a solid place to stay if you need the least expensive option available for a business trip. For any other circumstance, I can't imagine why you'd stay here.

I'm writing this from the perspective of someone who is staying at this hotel for business when visiting my company's HQ for 1-3 days at a time every now and then. I am rating it according to my needs in this situation.

Picture any 2-star chain hotel room. The kind where everything is clean nothing is glaringly wrong, but a place that hasn't been updated in 20-ish years. That's this hotel. It's a 3-story building with a tiny lobby/reception area and ample parking. Let's break this down:

THE ROOMS The rooms are a decent size (520-ish sq feet if I had to guess) and include a kitchenette. If you need any silverware, plates, glasses, or anything else that should be in a kitchen, you need to get it at the front desk. There's no additional charge, but that seems kinda sketchy and is an unnecessary hassle. The beds are ok. Nothing luxurious, but comfortable and in good shape. The TVs are 42" LG LCD units from about 10 years ago. They are capable of HD, but for some unknown reason every channel is in standard definition, so everything looks a bit fuzzy. It's 2017 and this is simply inexcusable. There's no desk, but the kitchenette counter has a bump-out with two stools. This is a good place to eat and makes a serviceable desk. The bathrooms are functional, but nothing special. Formica countertops and shower surrounds, single sink, powerful shower heads, standard height elongated toilets. They provide soap for the sink and shower and shampoo.

THE STAFF The staff gains this place an entire star. It is most definitely a 2-star place if not for staff that actually seems to care about the guests. The two on staff during my recent stay were both young ladies who were personable, knowledgeable, and were patient when my room's locking mechanism decided not to let me back in after repeatedly having the key re-made. I forgot my toothbrush and the front desk has both complimentary toothbrushes and toothpaste. They also provided solid advice on where to eat.

THE LOCATION The location is fantastic for my purposes. My office is literally across the street, there are a LOT of options for both dining and shopping, and it's close to the highway should you need to travel to DC or nearby towns.

OTHER NOTES There is free WiFi, but it is slow to the point of being almost entirely useless for anything more than email or chat applications. It took 5 minutes to send a 2.1Mb attachment. Like the blurry television, this is a disgrace in modern times. There is an upgrade option for a few bucks that may be better. I just use a mobile hot spot.

CONCLUSION I will likely continue staying here because of the price and the convenience. It is nice having a kitchenette in the room even if you have to bug the staff for proper kitchen supplies. The staff is another reason to stay here. In my experience, they are excellent at what they do. The place is desperately in need of a renovation, the TV channels are all blurry, and the WiFi is useless. Stay here if you are looking for a cheap but clean business stay, but otherwise...

Hotel nightmare. My girlfriend was in town for work and I tagged along and this is absolutely the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Firstly, the hotel stinks. Most hotels smell like old carpet or whatever but this one kinda smells like musty hotdogs. Before we even got to the room we spotted an open container of sour cream sitting on a fire extinguisher and by the looks and smell of things there's really no telling how long that's been sitting there. The walls are dingy, the carpet is dirty and the rooms are ugly. We got in the room and the blinds were broken there was somehow stray hairs in every drawer and there were dead bugs inside the light fixture. For a rate of over 100 dollars a night these things are unacceptable. Now her job covered the booking and that would be one thing if we didn't also have to pay a 400 dollar deposit for "incidentals" out of our pocket. (If you're keeping track that's over 800 dollars for a 4 day "stay" in this "hotel".) We came down after 15 or so minutes and the staff was the opposite of helpful. No refunds for the 4 day res. He wouldn't let us cancel and basically told us his hands were (very conveniently) tied. Corporate is closed on the weekend so no help there, any other number we called just routed us back to the front desk. We decided to just stay elsewhere for the work week and now that we're about to leave for some reason my girlfriend is only getting 307 of her 398 dollar deposit back. The front desk just lied and said we stayed in the room for 2 hours when we have him on recording saying we left after 30 or so minutes (which is still a lie) and that is somehow grounds for them to steal about 100 dollars from us. Now this shouldn't matter but my girlfriend is African American and in my 27 years as a white man I've never experienced customer service this deplorable. I think how she was treated is very telling. I'm sure customer support will try and reply to this review for a lame attempt at damage control but I don't really care for empty gestures. You can say our satisfaction is your number one priority but this is just categorically untrue. The only thing that could fix this is a refund and our FULL deposit back but based on this experience there's a slim chance of that happening. in short do not stay at this hotel. It reminds me of the cheap motels the drug addicts stay at on the beach back home. It smells, it's dirty, there are dead bugs in the lights there's a general air of dinginess about the place and they will literally try to rob you. (And they deleted my review so ill have to just keep...
