I want to inform you about the experience my Mom and I had at your hotel. We have stayed at the Residence Inn Waldorf many times over the last 15 years. I am from MD but have lived in Charlotte NC since 2003. We have never had a bad experience and everyone has always been so pleasant. Unfortunately, this weekend was not one of those times. My Mom and I had to drive to MD Saturday morning to come visit my uncle who is not well. We had been at UM Regional for a few hours and I left and drove over to Residence Inn to check in. When I got there, the person at the front desk was on the phone and I believe it was a personal call. He put the person on hold and asked me if I needed help. He got me checked in told me where the room was and about breakfast and then before I could even walk away, went back and got on the phone with the person he had on hold. I went upstairs to 203 when I went into the room from first inspection it looked fine and it smelt clean. I put our bags in the room and then I went back to the hospital when my mom and I got there at about 730pm back to the hotel. I went into take a shower and noticed the toilet had hair on it and the bathroom tub had hair on it. The floor in the corners of the bathroom was disgusting. I wrote and left a note there on the table about it that night. When we got up the next morning, we were getting our stuff together and I noticed there was a bug in the bed and I took a video of it and then I looked it up to verify, it was definitely a bed bug. I have attached video. We gathered our things and went downstairs. I told the girl at the front desk what had happened. I told her I had a picture and video. I asked her what was the protocol and asked what should I do. She told me to send the manager Sheree an email and then I asked her what should I do about us as a person, like what exactly should be done in order to clean ourselves and not bring these things home with us. She attempted to brush me off at first and seemed really nonchalant about it. I asked her had this happen before and she said maybe a few times but she really didn’t know what to tell me about it. I don’t know if you’ve ever experienced bedbugs but it was pretty disgusting to think about it and I really just wanted to find out how we could not bring these nasty things home. She did apologize to me when I told her she was being a little nonchalant about it. She stated “it’s just that she wanted to finish her work because she was leaving in 30 minutes”. I would appreciate something being done about the cleanliness of the rooms and the bed bug situation so that this doesn’t happen to someone else. I would even suggest printing out something that you can be given to guests to inform them about what to do in case they encounter bedbugs at...
Read moreThe Rat Trap: A Residence Inn Experience I’ll Never Forget (But Wish I Could)**
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to vacation in a post-apocalyptic rodent refuge, look no further than this fine establishment. Pulling into the parking lot, I was greeted by an Ecolab truck out front, busy collecting rat traps — yes, actual rat traps — like it was some sort of cheese-fueled episode of “Fear Factor.” Not the kind of welcoming committee you hope for when you check into a Marriott, but hey, I like surprises.
Once inside, I was hit with the scent of... well, let's call it "nature's finest." If you ever wanted to experience what it’s like to live in a bong, this is your chance. The smell of weed was so thick, I think I got a contact high just walking to my room. The outdoor furniture, if you could call it that, looked like Cujo the Saint Bernard had used it for a chew toy, and the window shades in my room seemed like they were Freddy Krueger's latest victims — full of rips, holes, and a general air of horror.
But the real treat was breakfast. I’ve seen more food on a toddler’s plate during a hunger strike. A couple of rubbery eggs, toast that doubled as a self-defense weapon, and something that looked like oatmeal but could easily be mistaken for wallpaper paste. Five stars for creativity; zero for edibility.
And then there was the floor. Ah, the floor! I’m pretty sure they rent out the lobby for concrete mixing parties on weekends, because that’s the only explanation for the look and texture underfoot. I briefly wondered if I should be wearing a hard hat or at least steel-toed boots.
My main question is: how on earth does Marriott allow this place to keep the lights on? This isn’t just a bad day; it’s a full-blown horror movie. Unless Marriott’s new business model is “come for the points, stay for the pest control,” I’m baffled. Save yourself the trouble and just sleep in your car — I promise it will smell better.
In summary, the only thing luxurious about this Residence Inn is the rats. They've got the run of the place, and I think they’re...
Read moreI would not recommend the Residence Inn Waldorf to my enemies This location gives Residence Inn by Marriott a bad name. I had a late check-in which was okay, no problem. However, the room in which they gave me was the worst. I did my normal spray down of everything with Lysol only to find a blue spot on the fitted white sheet. Now unless things have changed and I didn't receive the memo, white sheets are only suppose to be white.
Okay so as I stated it was late when I checked-in and I was exhausted. I covered that part of the bed and placed a pillow on top of it and said I would just deal with it in the morning. At this point I go to take a shower, giving the Lysol the I just sprayed all over to dry. Now the shower curtain looked as if it was not the proper size or should I say maybe it was not connected with the correct shower or head/tub length in mind, because when I got out the shower there was water all over the floor. Okay, now we are at Strike 2 but again I said I'll address this in the morning because I am exhausted. Now here is where you complete lost me. I used the bathroom in the morning which in apart of the normal human function and the toilet wouldn't flush... completely stopped up. At this point I am at 90 on being done... The last 10 that pushed me over was after maintenance informed me that the system in slow in the entire building, which still should not stop someone from using the bathroom. But for the General Manager Brittany to say to me that it depends on what kind of bowel movement you have is a complete insult and something that should never be said to any guess under any circumstances, again under any circumstances whatsoever.
I am asking for and pursuing a full refund for the night that I am still being charged for. I'm also further asking all of my family and friends, those that have social media to post this to their social media outlets to let everyone know of my experience and to inform each and eeveryone that they know to never by any means necessary book a room at the Residence Inn in...
