I visited this establishment on August 17th 2025. We had Eric as our waiter, he started off well. He got our drinks, he took our order and he brought our food. Only hiccup with the food was sausage was ordered and they still put bacon on the plate, it was fixed. After that he was nonexistent until it was time to pay the bill. He never came back to check to see if we were OK, to see if we needed anything or offered any more coffee. A manager that walked by was flagged down to get the coffee, he got the coffee, maybe he didn’t know who the table server was in his defense. Eric was seen talking to someone for 10-15 minutes. When he thought we were done, is when he came over and said is everything OK, I thought that happens during the visit, having our meal. But anyway, I told the other person in my party the tip will reflect his service and don’t worry but he had to bring this to Eric’s attention and was very stern. He was serious about how disappointed he was in his service and Eric said, “why, who me, what happened”, he told him his issues and Eric started offering food to appease which never outshines good food and service. To start doing damage control with offering food due to disappointing service just seems like Eric was trying to make sure he gets a tip, which tipping is never a problem. Good service is tipped well wherever we go but he did not earn the tip he could have earned. This is not a dig on the establishment as a whole, just the individual because we have had some good service at this establishment. Some other things that were noticed, it appeared to be a community plate at the bar, the team members were eating off in front of customers, maybe this is allowed and ok. Also, the other person in my party witnessed a server eat off the plate of a customer as they were taking it to the customer’s table, now I know this is unacceptable. The servers must understand that people are always watching and some will report what was seen on this day and some won’t. This appears to be acceptable behavior based on how casual the servers were with...

I have to give the management credit. I can see that they follow the feedback of guests and do their best to make all things right. Last week, my husband and I went on a Saturday night and enjoyed a great meal. More importantly, our service was excellent. A young lady named Jordan (I think she's new) served us and went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we needed. She checked on us often and was very pleasant to interact with. She seemed to be a true servant and people person. Her presence was a blessing and made great food that much more enjoyable.
Interestingly, we went back a few days later and order the exact same dish (we shared) and were served by another waitress, but she was not nearly as attentive. We waited a long time, and she didn't really check back in with us regularly. Sadly, the dish -- which was identical to the one we'd ordered on Saturday, was disappointing. The portion was significantly smaller, and when the plate arrived, the presentation was a bit off-putting (sauce seemed to have been thrown onto the plate carelessly).
We absolutely LOVE Silver Diner and we are regulars. The food is almost always fantastic. Service can be good, but sometimes, the servers don't seem to enjoy the work. Nevertheless, we keep returning because overall, they are getting the diner atmosphere right! Dinner was very tasty and the location was clean but our service wasn't what it should have been. In the beginning, our server was attentive...but as we neared the end of the meal, the server began to rush. I just thought the restaurant must be busy, so that would be understandable. By the time we checked out, she was really rushing. After dinner, we went to the restroom, and then back to the front to exit. Sadly, I saw that the restaurant was not crowded at all. Our server was busy braiding/styling a co-workers hair at the front counter. That...
Read moreMy two friends and I were shown to a corner booth with no wait time on a Saturday afternoon. We felt at ease in our booth and had a great time, even tho it was a bit louder due to being busy, typical diner on the weekend type of thing, so that was as expected and still gets 5 stars for atmosphere.
The ladies bathroom was clean and stocked with the seat covers, TP, handsoap and the electric paper towel dispenser worked and the trash can was in good order. Always a plus.
Our server GIOVANNI was 100% awesome and very helpful answering our questions.
We split the crispy brussel sprouts and the lamb meatballs. They were both very flavorful and tasty but I would have liked the meatballs to be a bit more than just kind of warm inside. Still, they were juicy and delicious. I don't remember seeing it mentioned on the menu but they do mix the lamb with cooked quinoa, which was okay but I would have liked to know ahead of time.
We all got The Bay Benedict for main course and it was okay. Benedict implies poached eggs but in their defense it did not claim to be poached in the menu. The eggs were in fact, fried over easy. I realize poaching is time consuming and hard to get the right consistency on so I can't fault them too much because they're a very busy place. Admirable effort. It was under seasoned to my taste but I took care of that with salt, pepper and extra Old Bay seasoning. Better under than over in this case. They subbed out the English muffin for home fries at my request no problem.
The Nutella banana hand spun shake was thick and creamy but didn't really have much Nutella flavor in it, mostly banana and some of the salted caramel sauce. I don't like to send things back unless they're terrible so I had it as made but it basically tasted like banana and salted caramel. Again, they were super busy.
I would come again but maybe at a less busy time just to see if the little details...
