Had a not so great experience here tonight, with that said the owner did try to make it right. My daughter and I had been here 4-5 times prior to tonight. After golf her and I spent 40 dollars playing games. So about 60 give or take we spent. My daughter hit two 500 dollar prizes and about 1000 tickets on other games. When we went to get her prizes the computer said we only had 1090 tickets. The gentleman called the owner over (I didn’t know she was the owner at the time) and I explained we should have over 2000 tickets. She read through each transaction out loud, I let her finish knowing this wasn’t the problem. After I explained they were missing a 500 prize. I showed her the machine she hit it on. She opened the machine and there was a bin with all the prizes. She proceeded to tell me there was no 500 prize at the top and also told me that machine doesn’t mess up. So basically saying my daughter and I were liars. At this point I made a smart remark I honestly don’t remember what it was though (I did not cuss or raise my voice). The owner made a comment about being rude. At this point I told my daughter we were leaving and the owner said she was giving me the tickets and tried to get the card back. I refused, at this point I’ve made up my mind I’m not coming back after this. They can keep the prizes and I’ll make it up to my daughter another way. I will not stand by and let someone call my daughter a liar. She followed me into the parking lot apologizing and saying let me make it right. After a lengthy conversation reluctantly we went back in and my daughter got her prizes. The owner also gave us 2 free rounds of golf vouchers.
The more I think about this I wish I would have stuck to my guns and not went back in and got the prizes. It’s not about the prizes, it’s about the principle. After we left I had my 9 year old daughter tell me she didn’t understand why she didn’t believe us and her tell me “daddy I watched other people play after us and win prizes and we won prizes after the 500 so it wouldn’t be at the top.” If the owner reads this I encourage if they have cameras to watch them and see my daughter win the 500 prize and her and I celebrate after. We also won 250 tickets after we came back from playing more games which I don’t think registered either. But not even worth dealing with. Not all people are liars and not all people are trying to get one over on you. Technology fails, just because it hasn’t up to this point doesn’t mean it won’t. I wish I wouldn’t have gone back in because I’m sure the owner doesn’t actually believe we won but more so trying to make it right for fear of...
Read moreMy experience at Scary Strokes was terrible. Upon arrival I payed for a Triple Play package which included virtual reality, mini-golf, and a arcade card. Mini-golf was fine but it was very hard to see the holes regardless of the glow and the dark theme. When it came time for the virtual reality, there was a wait time but that was fine. After noticing there was nobody in the VR I asked the front desk how it was organized so I can know when I go in. The manager on duty than decided to let me know that it was closed down for a party; but upon arrival 30 minutes earlier NOBODY/STAFF let me know that I couldn’t use the VR. I requested a refund for the VR and I was told “their system does not issue out refunds so I could get a voucher to come back.” As a customer that is unacceptable how there isn’t simple communication between staff and we were allowed to spend money on a service that was not available. On top of not being able to be issued a proper refund, the “voucher” we were being given to replace the virtual reality, there is a 60 day limit on the vouchers. This is HIGHLY Unacceptable and a huge disappointment of a evening. I hope this can be a lesson for owners to update “their systems” and hire proper...
