Bed Bugs! *

I'm editing my previous review down from five stars to three stars.

I've stayed at this location many times over the past few years. While the location is a bit far out, the rooms are always clean , the hotel is very affordable, and the staff are always professional and friendly.

With that being said , whenever I go to any hotel I always check for bed bug evidence by removing the mattress cover, checking the linens, and pushing the mattress out from against the headboard. Well doing my last stay which was this weekend I found three dead bed bugs behind the mattress on top of the box screen under the head board.

Now I didn't really make a big deal out of it. I simply requested a room change. I kind of figured that bed bugs are part and parcel in the hotel industry, however the attendant that I alerted ,although he was very nice and professional and of course changed my room tried to convince me that they were not indeed bed bugs 😑. I can understand that maybe it is just a part of his job to try and convince me otherwise so that I wouldn't make a big deal out of it I guess, however it is the year 2024, bed bugs are nothing new, And many people have had experiences with them. As have I which is one of the reasons I check before I stay at any hotel.

I don't know the hotel's procedure with dealing with bed bugs but I think the cleaning staff should always check each room after the guests leave for bed bugs while they clean. The three bugs that I saw were dead and dry so I'm thinking they have been there a while.

So always check your rooms people.

Also and lastly, I usually skip the complimentary breakfast but doing this stay I decided to get my money's worth and I was kind of disappointed. It was basically waffles, juice and yogurt .Even at some of the rinky dink motets that I have stayed in offered a more substantial breakfast than that.

I'm back, and this time I'm changing my reviews from 3 stars to 1 Star.

BED BUGS!!!!! THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IM FOUND BED BUGS! after my previous stay at this establishment I found evidence of bed bugs upon entering my room. I always check the rooms before each stay. This time was no different but I guess I didn't do a thorough enough check. Found a live one this time after it bit me on my ankle at 1:00 in the morning. After giving this establishment the benefit of the doubt on my last visit, I'm sorry to say that I will probably be taking my business elsewhere for now on.

Please if you decide to stay here check the room for evidence of bed bugs. !

Another thing is that they are now starting this $100 cash only deposit upfront. Which I think is completely ridiculous especially on rooms that have already been paid for. And for to be cash only is sketchy. They take your deposit and place it in an envelope with your information on it room number etc. That's not...

CONS - I do NOT recommend this place. In our room, the ceiling was stained with water, and some attempts to repair or patch were hideous. The door to the bathroom had been punched, filled, and sanded, The door was pine, but the patch work was white, and it was left that way. The carpet looked very gross, and we would NOT go barefoot or even walk around in our socks. Where the iron hangs, there was grafetti witten on the wall in the upper left corner. The marque lights for their sign were burnt out, making it harder to find in the day or night. Check-in was quick. However, the young man checking us in did not greet us in anyway, he barely spoke to us, and when he did, he mumbled. We had to ask where our room was. They advertise as 100% spoke free, but the minute you walk in, you can smell cigarettes, stale cigarettes, AND someone weed actively.

PLUSES - Coffee and condiments were in the room. During our stay, it was quiet. The king bed was comfy. Lots of parking areas around the entire building. However, in the back area, there are NO lights, so that was a safety concern for ourselves and our rental car. Olive Garden is walking distance, and we would highly recommend eating there.

We did NOT eat their free breakfast.

CONS - We did NOT complain about the room. We checked in at 11.30pm, got settled, and started noticing the flaws in our room. We chalked it up to experience, vowed to never go back, and post a review of our experience online. Plus, we were only going to be there 2 days before we went to our AIRBNB to meet up with family for several days.

Again, we will never go back.

Based on the fact I’m a Travel Agent i periodically travel an stay at hotels to see the service is and I will say this particular hotel is not for an family or a person whom is trying to work away from home or even get some relaxing time away! This hotel is for a quick overnight stay and out the next. I would not recommend or refer this hotel to anyone Location: Van Dyke/14mile very local and near restaurants & a Walmart and gas stations Hotel Room: Needs to be updated and cleaned properly sterilized and sprayed for bugs Completely Staff: Unprofessional Behavior Management unprofessional behavior

Ok my experience I stayed 5 days and I couldn’t even get through night 1 without an issue when I first checked in I had to clean the tub out and the toilet in my room because it was hair in the tub and not properly cleaned! The noise is horrible and that’s from every angle of the building it’s like it’s a night club after 12pm. There was a roach on my counter by the sink! Day 2 there was a couple fighting above me and he was trying to push her out the window she or he must of thrown something out the window and it hit the top of my truck then the man got loud with me like he wanted to beat me up for asking what happen police was called I made a report to the officer NO SLEEP AT ALL THAT NIGHT the fights was ridiculous

Staff had a unprofessional attitude when I said I wanted to check out there is breakfast served in the Am but I didn’t eat it and a Man was standing around basically monitoring Adults eat you can not bring anything back to your room I see why they have roaches No refund no accountability just a Oh I’m sorry that’s normal around here
