Ok... I have to preface this review with the statement that my friend and I have been regulars at this location for 20+ years. This is the first time I have written a review for this VI. I have seen this restaurant go through ups and downs, but after our experience tonight I think that we will be going to see Ryan at Denny's on 104th from now on. I was supposed to meet my friend at this VI for dinner and got caught in traffic because there were two accidents on the highway. I was 45 minutes late. The server, I did not see a name tag was highly agitated when she came over to greet me when I finally got there. I asked for coffee and water. She came back and poured me coffee. The cup was dirty. I didn't get a chance to let her know as she was asking if we were ready to order. I asked for a few minutes. She then walked away and you could feel the irritation radiating off of her. She walks into the pass thru and asks the other server if she wants our table because she doesn't want to wait another hour for five dollars. This is very unprofessional and rude. But what takes the cake is that she not only didn't bother to come over and explain that the other server would be taking over so that she could go home but she prints out her paperwork, gives us a dirty look and leaves. What I assume is the supervisor( woman with pinkish hair) asks the young lady server that is left if she has our table. Her reply was that we would have to wait. Supervisor didn't come over and help the server but did come our direction several times to speak to what appeared to be her child sitting at the table right outside the office. We got service, it was slow, the restaurant was empty for a free pie wednesday and they were out of all but three cream pies and were missing one fruit pie and the restaurant had no people in it. The server that helped us was nice but you could tell she was frustrated. The food looked really good and my sandwich was ok. I have worked in the culinary industry as a chef for over 20 years. Staff makes or breaks your restaurant. This location is not the same without Susan, Little Mel, John the old GM... The night staff is breaking this location. This location went from clean to dirty to revamped with nothing on the walls. It feel sterile and uninviting. If we come back and that is a big if we will come during the day so that we can get service from Darby, Jerica or Michelle. They rock and honestly Jerica is the only reason we came in tonight to give it a whirl. I would have given less stars but the server that helped us in the end...
Read moreI had to give a star to write a review but if I could choose, this restaurant would have a negative rating through the chart on my books. To start off it took a good 20 minutes before our order was even taken. Then when we ordered, we ordered from the pick 2, got a half sandwich, cup of soup and a small salad 8.79$ each. Everything was fine but when we got our check we noticed we were charged for 2 full grilled cheese sandwiches 9.79$ each and 2 salads 7.98$ for both. So when I tried to ask our waitress Melody we were given automatic attitude and disrespect, walked away from us while we were just trying to understand what happened. She told us she was getting her manager. She never came back was slamming stuff and just making it clear she was upset. She then came back, no manager and just said it was fixed. Nothing was fixed besides maybe 2$ taken off. Due to the disrespect I asked to still speak with a manager she threw her attitude again and said why if she changed it there’s no need to talk to a manager and that she already asked him to come over and he did not come. I politely asked to still speak with a manager. The manager John came over and we explained what happened explained that the menu isn’t clear on what we’re ordering that we thought it came with all three. He agreed and said looking at the menu it does look like that and he never really looked at the menu to notice that. I said it was okay that was our mistake we would still pay for it but I want the waitresses name to write a review because she was extremely rude. He then got disrespectful saying hop on it then, deep sighing, rolling his eyes and tried walking away. I told him I can see the type of restaurant he runs and clearly the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree with the disrespect and he began to explain I threatened him with a bad review and I told him it was not a threat that was what I was going to do he got mad, took our check and came back with a new price on it and I said I will pay my ticket now and I will still be writing a review. We walked to the front to pay and he came up and literally snatched the ticket right out of my hand and said we don’t even need to pay for it so I better go write that on my review too. By far the worst customer service I have ever had in my life, never have I felt so disrespected and embarrassed to have gone to such a place with people of such awful manner. From working in very high end government places to having family who run businesses and own restaurants it was...
Read moreIf I could give them NEGATIVE STARS I would. I used to love coming to this location and ONLY this one but last night literally was the WOSRT service I’ve ever had any restaurant. So My friend, my daughter, and I went to the Village Inn on 120th and I-25 and when we requested a booth and the manager was rude and obviously irritated. So we wait about 20 minutes and get seated. Which was fine. Then when we were seated we waited 45 minutes and didn’t even get acknowledged. No drinks. No waitress stopped by to check on us. Nothing. This was really frustrating because I had my 1 year old with me and she was beginning to get impatient. So we went to the manger back at the front to ask if we could get a some one to serve us. It was so bad that while I waited to talk to the manager a customer behind us said “I don’t blame you. I told our waitress to go to you guys and she didn’t.” So the waitress was aware we were there. She would walk right past us and not a word. The manger came up to her in front of us and told her to help us. She was beyond rude and said “how can I help you” me and my friend had said we had been waiting here for 45 minuets with out drinks or being acknowledged”. (She had gotten in my FACE at this point) Her excuse was “she was to busy” when she had clearly walked past and even looked at us several times”. I had asked her “ there was not 2 minuets that you could have stoped by to let us know”? She trying to explain how a family of 12 was ahead of us because they were seated before us. My friend and I both seen them get seated after us”. The waitress asked if we wanted another waitress. We said “we just wanted drinks AT LEAST”. She then had the nerve to refuse service. She was even raising her voice with my one year old there. I thought you only see these things in Facebook videos. Nope. It’s real life. The manager was absolutely NO help. We ended up just leaving and not getting any food for the night. For anyone that wants to get food there and gets a waitress named STARLA ask for some one new. She was the most disrespectful waitress I’ve ever had. In fact I wouldn’t even bother to...
