I work within 2 minutes of this place and ordered a breakfast for pickup. I was told over the phone, my order would be ready in 20 min. I actually got there 25 min later, to be sure it was ready to go so that I could run and grab it and go, since I was on my lunch break. The hostess at the front desk was not friendly at all and did not even acknowledge me/make eye contact with me until I had to walk up in front of her and let her know I had an order that I called in. She went back to kitchen to check on the status of my order and said "it's next in line and will be just a couple more minutes." I verbalized my frustration regarding this and stated that I was told it would be ready in 20 (and by this time, it had been 30 min), and that I was on my break. The hostess did not seem to have any sense of urgency with my order, or any of the numerous people waiting in the lobby. After 40 min, I asked if I could pay so I could grab it and go. I paid, and after 45 min, I asked her to check on the order again, and again she returned with nothing and said "it's next, just a couple more min". After 55 min I asked for my money back. The hostess went back to the kitchen again, and came back stating the manager would be right out. 5 min later the "manager" (who was serving tables) came out and did nothing to rectify the situation whatsoever. She did not apologize, offer a discount, nothing just came to the front, asked the hostess my name, and disappeared for another 5 min, then came back up to the front, got my cash and handed it to me without a word. Nothing!!! Acted as if I was inconveniencing her!!! They were both so rude and gave horrible customer service. I used to be a server, and I can tell you that I know things go wrong. You are short staffed, or just getting your butt kicked. But they weren't even that busy. Had several tables open. Nobody was rushing with anything. AND, most importantly, they did NOTHING to try to rectify the situation. No apology or anything!! I have eaten here before, mostly because it is so close to my work and I do keto, and so I eat a lot of eggs. It's not because the food is spectacular. It's average, and kind of hard to mess up a scramble. Read moreI eat at this Delectable Egg usually once a week if I have the opportunity. The restaurant is always clean, cheerful and decorated with beautiful art done by local artists. The food is outstanding, everything I have ever eaten there is always delicious, hot and just excellent. The kitchen staff are excellent. The people are what make this restaurant the very best. Starting with the manager Lisa. She is a wonderful person, interactive with the clientele, always smiling, happy, busy, making sure that everyone is taken care of and doesn't need anything, and the employees love her. I have never seen a better manager. Then there are the employees who couldn't be nicer. There is Emily who I have known a long time. She is always happy, smiling, very concerned her customers are taken care of. She is a terrific person. The other staff Sheila, Alyssa and Alyssa, who are also outstanding. Sheila is an outsanding server, she is friendly, very interactive with her customers, makes sure they are taken care of and does a terrific job and a super person. There are several other servers, 2 Alyssas, Sheila's daughter who I just met and I don't remember her name that also do a terrific job, and probably someone I have unfortunately fortotten. There is Jesus who I just met. He started as a greeter, then moved to the back and is now a server. He does an outstanding job and is a very nice person. There is Betty and Blanca who are also terrific. They always are working hard, busy all the time, friendly, always happy and couldn't be better employees. Read moreI was really disappointed in our visit today. Typically everything here is great! On a typical day I would give it 5 stars. Fast service, great food. The wait is always long but we are used to that part. Today the entire experience was terrible. From sit down to when we finally got our check was an hour and 22 minutes. We didn't actually get our food until we had already been sitting for almost 45 minutes and our waitress only checked in like 3 times the entire visit so we didn't even know the status of what was going on. Typically the waitresses are good about checking in and letting you know if things are running behind. Nope not today. My fiancee's coffee cup broke and he wasn't able to get a new one until our food was delivered even though we tried to flag down 2 different people. By the time we got our food ( summer skillet and steak and eggs ) it was luke warm at best. The steak was WAY over done, no seasoning WHATSOEVER! The veggies in the skillet were not cooked all the way and my over medium eggs were more like well. It was clear that our food has just been sitting for sometime before actually being delivered to us. We are typically not those to complain but our waitress didn't even check with us too see if our food was okay. If she did, Honestly I probably would of sent it back, especially considering how long we had already been waiting. The best part of the whole meal was the coffee, which we ran out of, and the toast that showed up to the table after the rest of our meal. Once done we waited for another 10-15 minutes before a manager, not our waitress checked in with us, took the plates and brought us our check.
