I’m going to try to be constructive with this review because I think this hotel has so much potential and I wanted to love it. I’ve stayed in quite a few up the hipster updated motels and while I love the aesthetics, noise is a common problem. This hotel is no exception. The rooms are big, clean and basic but stylish. Compared to other hotels in the area, the price was reasonable. Whitefish is just hella expensive, no getting around that. But, when you are paying $300 after tax, you want to be able to sleep and that is not easy here. So, here are some ideas: the textured, course, runner in the hallway makes roller bags running over it really loud. I’m sure it’s a practical choice in winter with wet shoes, etc. but it adds another loud element to the halls. The walls and floors are thin, how about some acoustic paneling? You can get cheap fabrics, plywood and foam and DIY the panels. I think it could look nice and help with the feeling that you’re in the same room with your neighbor. I was in room 209 and inexplicably, the mini-fridge started roaring in the middle of the night. I didn’t have any food in it and would have been fine to just unplug it, but I couldn’t get to the plug. The wall unit heater/ac was also loud but I don’t know what to do about that other than consider higher end units. I don’t know the economics of your business but it seems like a worth while investment. I’m glad you provided earplugs but even they weren’t enough to block all the various noise factors… and I’m a hard sleeper. If I can’t sleep here, I’m not...
Read moreExtremely disappointing customer service.
We walked in to ask if there were any rooms available for the night and the receptionist, Peter, told us they were fully booked. We went back to our car and checked the hotel’s website ourselves — and sure enough, there were rooms available. So we booked online with our card and went back inside.
Peter then changed his story and said the room was too dirty to use and letting us stay would be a “liability.” When we asked if someone could clean it, he suddenly claimed he couldn’t hear us — despite having no problem hearing us minutes earlier. We repeated ourselves clearly, and then he gave another excuse: the hotel was supposedly fully booked for the entire month, so cleaning the room wasn’t possible. Which made no sense because if there was no one staying in the room wouldn’t it have been cleaned apon checkout?
In the end, he cancelled our online reservation and refused to let us stay. On top of all that, he was incredibly rude and dismissive the entire time, with a sarcastic tone and unprofessional attitude. The front desk was also a mess, covered in McDonald’s garbage. Completely unacceptable experience — we won’t be back. (edit) The Apres has since resolved our bad experience and made it right, we had simply gotten unlucky with the employee and the Apres has since made it clear they hold their customer service standard much...
Read moreWe had a great stay at Apres! The location was perfect as we were minutes from anything in Whitefish. We visited Going to the sun Road in GNP. I suggest not leaving around 8AM to visit as it look us an hour and a half to get into the park with the traffic going into the park.
The staff was all so nice and friendly! They were also very welcoming to our little pup! The rooms were very cozy and the clean! loved the style! Wish we had time to visit the sauna but it was just too hot this weekend. Their Espresso bar was phenomenal! Our Lattes were very tasty! I forgot to ask what type of espresso bean they used. We had a great time visiting the area for the first time!
The only reason I am not giving it a full five stars is because the rooms that are dog friendly are on the bottom level right next to the stairs and outside door and also across the hall where they do laundry. Our room was very loud with people coming in and out from outside, workers doing laundry throughout their night shift, and the guests above us walking around loudly. We were woken up a number of times throughout both nights that we stayed. I suggest putting rugs down or something to absorb sound throughout the rooms.
But really everything else was amazing with this cute little hotel in whitefish! we...
