Stayed here for a night before we went up to GNP. Found it on Instagram and really liked the direction the owners were going with their establishment (organic locally sourced ingredients, they make their own toiletries for the B&B, and the luxury farm house vibe and decor). However after spending an evening there, this is what I thought of it:
We booked the cheapest room we could get because we were only spending a night, and since the place is located within Whitefish’s small but quaint downtown area, we were just there for proximity and the promise of good food. The proximity was good, but the room, my goodness was probably the smallest room I have ever stayed at. With two suitcases and a backpack, my husband and I were practically on top of each other every time we tried to move around the room. I’ve stayed in Hong Kong and San Francisco hotels rooms at lower price points that are 2x bigger than this. And this is in Montana! We are suppose to be in big sky country! For one night, I paid $241 after tax for a room no bigger than my closet back home. The room had a full size bed, no storage, no outlet other than the one single source in the bathroom sink, one hard wood chair, no closet, 1/2 sink, and the shower is literally 1/3 size of standard stand-up showers. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was good, but for that price, it was hard to get over the fact that I had to use my own suitcase as a table every time I needed to do something and I had to charge my phone in the bathroom dangling from a tiny edge on the side of the sink.
The breakfast next day was very good, and we really enjoyed that aspect. But the room itself was way too small, and for that price, I would not recommend this for a couple. If you’re a tiny single person with no luggage and into the whole super cute Instagramable cute farmhouse vibe, this is the place for you. For others, I would suggest booking the larger rooms or try...
Read moreAfter being told the wait at another local Cafe was almost an hour, which we couldn't wait, I headed to yelp and found the farmhouse inn and kitchen and we walked around the corner and down the street, and found it. We went in and were greeted right away. The hostess/cashier was very very nice and helpful.
We ordered the pancakes and the lox toast. The bacon with the pancakes was wonderful, the eggs were some of the best scrambled eggs I've had at any restaurant, perfectly seasoned and expertly cooked, and the side of fresh fruit (blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries) that came on that plate was fantastic as well. The whipped cream that was served on the pancakes slid off so I ate it first and separately, and it was wonderfully whipped and was only just the slightest bit sweet. The pancakes were fantastic. I don't generally like thick pancakes which these were, but they were buttermilk-y, slightly sweet, perfectly crispy edges, and soft in the middle. They usually come with huckleberry compote, but I got them without the compote.
My mom got the lox toast and she really enjoyed it as well, even the arugula which she was skeptical of. She did take the capers off because they are one of the approximately 4 foods she doesn't enjoy.
The outdoor seating out back was beautiful and tranquil, but there wasn't a lot of shade back there, and most of the tables were at least in half sun, so just...
Read moreWe absolutely loved our stay at the Peerman family B&B, and we’ll definitely be back! The location of the B&B is perfectly situated: just a couple of blocks from all of the restaurants and shops of downtown Whitefish, and just one block from a running trail along the water that leads you to a beautiful lake and public beach.
The room itself was exceptionally clean, and felt very secure with a keypad lock and our own code to enter the home. The room was small for 3 people, but we found that we spent most of our time out of the B&B in the spacious backyard and downstairs restaurant/kitchen.
Breakfast was included and really tasty, and their lunch menu was also great. You know they’re doing great business when the restaurant is filled with locals stopping by. The staff and the Peerman family were exceptionally kind and checked in on us during our stay.
Thanks so much for the...
