This is a glorified parking lot with utilities. It is clean, concrete and very tightly packed "rv park". The staff is friendly but unorganized and gives conflicting availability information which proves to be very frustrating. They are trying to keep spots available for overnighters and do not want long term (weekly) people. We were treated like a nuisance because we wanted to stay longer. When they "found some open spots" they acted like they had done us a huge favor. They fail to understand we are the customer and finding us a spot is their job. We are paying them money to stay and that is their income. They have small spots of grass between some sites and you cannot put anything on the grass. No pet fences so the dogs can be outside sometimes. No chairs to sit on the grass, no tables, nothing. It is tightly monitored by the grumpy, ill tempered manager. Oh they do pick up your trash at the edge of your site every day. Bottom line: it is an average at best place to stay if you don't mind feeling like you are paying ALOT of money to feel watched and not welcome!
RESPONSE: Thank you for commenting and demonstrating the poor customer service we experienced. You or anyone we spoke to did not listen, therefore did not understand. We never thought this rv park was a destination, we are here working like everyone else. We failed to read the rules about pet fences and we are responsible for that. Our 5th wheel has a fold down patio with a sliding door so we have a ramp and a pet fence that we put up when at an rv park so they can go in and out. We have never had anyone comment or complain about this in our travels across the country. NEVER. We do not leave nor neglect our pets. But because we are working we like to leave a way for them to relieve themselves. We were working in Hays, Kansas (3 hours away) the day you so rudely pointed out that we were breaking the rules with our "pet cage". You concluded we were ignoring you instead of realizing we were working and could not fix the issue quickly. As soon as we could we found a solution and removed the fence. Our objection is not about amenities but manners and good customer service. We received incomplete information, was bounced from person to person. We were told to come in another day and talk to someone else about our reservation. Then that person had no idea what was going on. You and some of the staff made us feel like we were a bother. The day we were supposed to leave there was severe weather but we were called twice within an hour to make sure we were leaving. We were hoping for a break in the rain but was called again by the office saying that the next customers (victims) were on their way. (check in time is 1pm and it was 11am when we packed up) All in all, you weren't happy to have us and you were happy to see us go. Not sure how we got off on the wrong foot but these feet will never take another step in this rv park. We have moved to an rv park about 20 minutes away and are being treated like most rv park owners...fantastic! We hope that others are never treated like this and it was just a fluke. This is our first time working in Kansas and the people are so great, we can only conclude that the owner/manager is not from...
Read moreThese stuck-up socialites honestly think that their bowel-movements don't stink not to mention rude (they look down their noses at people that are in anything other than a high-end million dollar bus... retirees that are evading taxes because their sorry butts don't have to pay taxes in the state of South Dakota, as well as their drivers licenses, banks, etc)....just a bunch of crooks in cahoots with each other really. These folks discriminated to my face when they discovered that my partner and I were gay. Additionally the looked us up and down & noticed that we had some high-high end tattoos that we got while on holiday in Santa Barbara, CA in 2007. I am also a Vet--I served 4 years in the United States Army @ Fort Lewis, WA. The jerks there at Air-Capital actually went up on a months rent that we were quoted as $325 over the phone but went up on us at the counter in person trying to discourage us by raising the prices to $450 a month plus electricity... at the end of the peak season?. NOBODY heads into winter raising the rates. Phooey this isn't Ft. Lauderdale or Tucson, its freaking just Kansas after all . Heck Twin Fountains in OKC was much much nicer about the same with electric included. This place was about as pretty as an expansive concrete slab with little tiny spaces of overgrown sod (which was infested with chiggers. There was no trees, shrubs, flowers, landscaping or anything to make it feel warm & inviting,..is was about as pretty as a prison rec. yard.
SO IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A NICE RV PLACE WITH GOOD FOLKS FOR NEIGHBORS, AND FRIENDLY HELPFULL OWNERS & STAFF TO HANG YOUR HAT FOR A DAY, OR A MONTH, OR PERHAPS MONTHLY...this IS NOT the place for you...Go to USI- campground, folks went out of their way to welcome us, better yet choose the K AND R RV park, it has a parklike setting with huge trees and 5 min to the downtown River-Parks. The one night spot is in the middle of the grassy park, and a couple of nice shaded spaces for folks who want to stay a little longer. Plus the single rates there are in the Teens rather than 40+ per night. That's a...
Read moreWe were there for 6 months nice people working there. We wanted to try out another RV park, and was told that there would always be a place for us, then management called 2 days later saying that we couldn't come back because our dogs were vicious. Yet they never attacked anyone. While we were there mgmt never said an unkind word about our dogs, always said that they were doing what they were supposed to do. They'd bark at the golf carts or when someone came to the door, or idiots would come up on them, making them feel threatened. Our dogs are actually sweet dogs, we don't socialize them very much because other people don't vaccinate their pets properly for one reason or another. We've actually had our small one poisoned once, we were lucky that she didn't die. She's afraid of people especially men. So she barks when she feels threatened. Rules about pets: must be kept on a leash, yet people were allowed to let their dogs run freely, or people would let their dogs run the full length of the retractable leashes, potty in and on other peoples vehicles, tires, plants, yard areas, and not clean up after them. Concrete slabs are nice only if you don't want to put a skirting on, which are only allowed during the winter months because it will kill the grass and the sprinklers will spray under your trailer. They claim to give veterans discount yet my husband and I both are veterans and did not receive any discounts of any kind. They claim free WiFi yet they only have it up at the office if you're lucky. For us, we'd say that it's a nice place if you're just passing thru. The lies being said from the actual manager himself about our dogs being vicious could cause us not to be able to stay anywhere. He never said a word to us about our dogs the whole 6 months that we were there. Most places will ask you to leave if they feel that your pets are dangerous. We chose to leave because we wanted our skirting up...
