Jalisco Restaurant — Restaurant in Wichita

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I am kind of divided on this one. Since my favorite Mexican dish is carne asada I ordered it in a few different ways to try it out. I ordered the carne asada tacos and the carne asada burrito. The carne asada from this restaurant in my opinion should not be labeled as such. Carne asada is grilled steak, what I got was more of which should be called shredded beef. The meat does not taste grilled or appear to be grilled in any way, it is of a roast type meat that appears to have been prepared way in advance and kept in a steam table. I do however still consider this restaurant authentic and the carne asada (shredded beef) does have a decent flavor to it just don’t expect the traditional grilled meat think low end beef that has been marinated and slow cooked for many hours. The carne asada tacos are served in a traditional way with cilantro onions cheese and lime, the tortillas on the other hand are sub par. The corn tortillas taste like the cheap corn tortillas that you get from the local grocery stores that have been microwaved. These tortillas in my opinion should be quickly toasted on a grill and not microwaved. The carne asada burrito is odd to me because of what is served inside of the burrito. The burrito consists of the meat cheese rice and refried beans in what appears to be yet again microwaved tortilla. The typical carne asada burritos I am used to are served with meat cheese guacamole and pico de gallo with a fresh toasted/heated tortilla. This is not a bad thing the way it is served but just odd and not how I expected. The salsa (sauce) is the best part of my experience. There is only one choice for sauce and that is a red sauce that is on the medium side not hot but not mild and more on the chunkier salsa type side of a sauce. This was the worst experience I’ve had for lunch in years! I ordered the floutas and was served bad meat it was horrible! Then I also ordered a chicken burrito which the chicken had some very strange flavor and the chicken was no good and the spices were very odd I had never tasted these kinds of flavors at a Mexican restaurant before and I have had many many Mexican meals. The cook came out and apologized to me for not liking the food and told me not to pay. Then went about to leave the restaurant trying to pay for the food I did eat...the late waitress with a very snotty and nasty attitude said that I have to pay for all of it because I ordered it. She did not want to ask the cook she did not want to try to please me in any kind of way because she just wanted the money.
