My family and I stayed here Saturday 08/04 through Monday 08/06. My wife accidentally booked the wrong hotel, but we went ahead and stayed here anyways. We had planned on the Super 8 across the street where we normally stay when we come to Wichita. We had a King sized bed room and it was not worth the money that we spent. My wife actually checked the pull out couch and our bed for bed bugs as it resembled a more run down type hotel. The hotel itself definitely needs updated. Good parts of the hotel included, the upkeep and area of the pool, the wide variety of items each morning for breakfast, and the AC unit working well in our room. The shower did have good water pressure, but I literally had to bend my knees so that the water could get to my head, and I'm just over 6 foot. My wife experienced the same thing and she's 5 foot 10. When booking our room we had asked the hotel to provide an extra 2 pillows and towels for swimming, none of that was given. I asked the front desk at 6pm Saturday evening for the extra pillows, towels, and also a sheet for the pull out bed for our boys. The lady at the desk wrote down our room number and said she'd take care of it. We came back home around 10:15, nothing had been put in our room. I again went down to the front desk and the same woman working earlier asked me yet again for my room number. After calling a couple times and going down there once more, I finally received a sheet and blanket for the pull out couch around 11:20pm! 5 1/2 hours later, it was ridiculous. I even told them I had two toddler aged boys that needed to go to bed, and still it didn't seem to matter and the front desk wasn't that busy. I never received the pillows because as she said "the hotel doesn't have any more". As for pool towels, she said that there was some in a cabinet down by the pool, which was fine. The next day we took our kids to the pool and of course, there were no towels in the cabinet. I went up to the front desk and they gave me four towels that were literally no larger than a dish towel rag - how am I supposed to dry off 2 children and 2 adults with this size of a towel? Common sense... Because of where our room was, we also parked on the East side entrance door. Supposedly it's locked all the time, that wasn't the case either - multiple times it was unlocked and you didn't have to use a room key to enter. The trash can right next to the door was overflowing when we first arrived at the hotel on Saturday afternoon, it was never taken out the entire time we stayed. Monday morning when we checked out it was still there. On Sunday we were gone from 9am until 3:30pm and our room was never made up, bed made, or anything. Please save your money and go elsewhere! I hope management takes a hard look at how your business here is being operated. The pictures attached show the couch caked in dust, the trash can overflowing beside the East entrance, the bed chipped and worn, and the rusty door stop on the back of the...
Read moreLet’s start with the Pros.
-It had a bed.
Ok now let’s do the cons.
-Odor- The whole hotel just had a weird odor. It was somewhere between stale cigarettes and mildew with a hint of public pool. It was weird and very off putting. Service- I have to give the guy who was working credit. We had multiple issues or needs and he addressed them to the best of his ability. Honestly, he shouldn’t have had to do all that though. The fact that they had one person on call at night is not great. Our room was not prepared at all. We booked a king bed and the room included a sleeper sofa. Sure the bed was made but things like towels, hand soap, sheets for the sleeper sofa were not there when we arrived. The reservation we booked was for 2 adults and 1 child. No reason the hotel could not have looked ahead of time and arranged the room. -Room- we were booked on the 2nd floor and there was no elevator that we could find. I am not sure if there was one hidden away that we weren’t aware of but if there was we were not informed of its location. When we pulled the sleeper sofa out for our child we discovered there were no sheets. When we picked up the phone to call the front desk to request sheets we discovered the phone did not work. We then had to go get sheets from the front desk that did not fit the bed. The room was very humid, the closet ceiling had a major mold spot, and paint was bubbling/peeling in multiple places throughout the room. The sheets felt damp because it was so humid. The water running in the toilet was loud so we shut the door. Only to discover later that the bathroom doorknob was broken and we could not get into the bathroom. We are thankful no one got trapped in there especially our young child. At this point we had to switch rooms. -Common Area- The whole hotel seemed to be in a general state of disrepair. Broken blinds, damaged furniture, broken appliances in the hallways, unkept common areas, dirty carpet, unlit areas, etc. the only “nice area” was the front desk. -Other- in the lobby I observed what looked like illegal activity between two individuals and a large cash transaction. -Summary- don’t stay here. Seriously don’t do it. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else. This Quality Inn had no positive...
