This Candlewood has been a completely different experience than EVERY other Candlewood I have stayed in before. Keep in mind, my husband and I travel for work and we lived in a Candlewood for 6 months RIGHT before coming here. We have been at this location for a month and this hotel does NOTHING for us. This location has consistent noise problems. Understandable to want to fix that but fix it with the actual problem. We were given a âwarningâ by âmanagementâ like we were apart of the drunk crowds of construction workers that party every night just because someone below us complained that we get home late DUE TO WORK. We have NEVER made any noise more severe than the alcoholics playing in traffic outside. Cleaning has only came to our room once and we were asleep. They show up 2-3 weeks later 3 people deep telling us our room is dirty (we clean it ourselves. I have asked on multiple occasions to borrow cleaning equipment from staff so we could) AND pushed past us to look at our room like weâre hiding something? We felt disrespected and asked to be put on âdo not disturbâ list because thereâs no reason for that behavior. Nobodyâs coming in our personal space, touching our things with that funky demanding attitude. Now after a month here, suddenly they donât take trash from the hallways anymore unless they clean your room. They let our trash sit in front of our door for A WEEK before ironically typing up a note telling us to take our own trash out and leaving not only the note on the door but the trash still out there. They donât clean half of the rooms on our floor including ours so what job are yâall actually doing that you canât throw a bag of trash in the trash bin you walk around the hallway with?? We change our own sheets/linens, vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, clean our toilet/shower/sink and yâall canât take one bag of trash? That nonsense was never a policy at the previous IHG hotels weâve stayed at. Regardless if they cleaned our rooms or not. We go downstairs to clarify the note with front desk and the 2 cleaning ladies come around to tell my husband HEâS LAZY. HE DOESNT WORK HERE! They said plenty of other things under their breath and theyâre lucky my husband didnât cuss them clean out. Iâm pregnant and he works 14 hour daysâŚit would be nice to have a hotel weâre PAYING FOR actually help us. We have never had a bad experience with any hotel weâve stayed in. Weâve also never had any complaints towards us from any hotel weâve ever been in so this place consistently down our necks when weâre barely here during the day is strange. The only nice thing about this hotel is 2 of the front desk receptionists. The tall bald man and the man with the hat have been the most helpful. I donât know their names but every time we need something theyâre on it. Aside from them, youâre get better help sleeping outside Walmart than in here. If it was not for work we would not be here. We can promise we will...
Read moreI booked this for my boyfriend and I for Valentines week we stayed for 3 nights and gotta say I am impressed this is a 2 star hotel for $135 a night! Everything was comfy, quiet, enough space (bathroom was big) and we felt like we had privacy. The knives they give for the kitchenette gotta say is lackluster so bring your own chef knife if you plan on cooking/chopping stuff up for food! The stovetop worked great just takes awhile for it to heat up to max to cook meats but it did the job. The shower is amazing and the mirror in the bathroom is very nice and big very easy to get ready in the morning (make-up, brush teeth, doing hair and they give a hairdryer as well) The tv's are flatscreens and are capable of connecting your phones, laptops, switch/consoles up too them if you bring them for that through hdmi cable or shared screen. The wifi we had some lag or disconnects once or twice but it didn't ruin our stay and it was doable for just chilling out with a movie in bed. Speaking of the bed I have a spine injury so I was worried about the bed quality for my back but it was okay, I had to bring my own pillows which I am very glad I did cause I needed them for my legs so my spine wouldn't hurt. The bed is very neutral though not to stiff not to soft! We didn't check out the gym or cupboards we were doing a lot of walking already and didn't want to be fatigued and we had enough food we didn't need the snacks or breakfast items but its super nice to have if it's needed/wanted! The parking space I will say though seems kind of.. small? You have to drive around the building and feels kind of odd but seems fine enough. The location is nice though more than enough places to eat like Ihop, Golden Corral, Cracker Barrel tons others around and its 5-10mins away from the old town district of Winchester and the Mall so there is more than enough stuff too do! All in all this hotel was great and I made some amazing memories with my boyfriend here and will be coming back if the chance...
Read moreWe stayed here for about 7 months, and as with any extended stay there are pros and cons
Pros: -staff is the best! friendly, tries to help find solutions, accommodating, and kind! staff alone are 5 stars -free laundry! an amazing perk for extended stays -grill and supplies available for my husband -full kitchen with an array of supplies already in the room, and you can loan supplies from the front desk like a rice cooker or blender -quiet enough that you kind of feel like you're in a duplex rather than hotel -room service comes by more often than most places to offer their services
cons: -when we first arrived our door became locked and the master key didn't work, we were locked out and had to move rooms -there is currently a mice problem within the last month of our stay. again, staff helped by setting traps and calling pest control, but finding droppings around your things makes you uneasy -they put a hold on your card for double the amount you pay per week, and since they charge on fridays, the hold stays until the following monday. at one point we asked the front desk why that was, and they were able to "change something in the system" to keep it from happening, but that only lasted for 3 months. when we renewed, it started happening again, but when we asked this time the front was confused on what we were talking about -they do not have enough trained staff to keep up with requests. at any time there's only one or two people who are able to handle all aspects of the job (shout out to Jennifer!), but they are overworking these people and not properly training new people to be able to handle themselves. so if we had an issue or request, we would have to wait until that one person was scheduled to get any answer -check the charges every week: we had an issue of being overcharged, but they rectified it as soon as we...
