We can not recommend this Candlewood Hotel to other travelers. Most lacking in this Candlewood Hotel were an ice machine and also no breakfast bar. These are items that are usually provided by other hotels we’ve stayed at, including sister hotels within the IHG hotel group such as Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn. It’s already getting up to 90 degrees with high humidity here in the Winchester area, so we were looking forward to a couple of cold refreshments after checking in. There is no ice machine in the public areas of the hotel, and no kitchen with an ice machine. We turned on the ice maker that was inside the fridge/freezer of our room, and it only made 2 trays of ice in the 18 hour period we were in our room. The bedroom air conditioner does NOT operate. The fan comes on but not the air conditioning. We had a very hot, sweaty and miserable night due to the air conditioner inside the bedroom not working. Additionally, on many of the preset TV stations we were given an error message that the TV signal is a scrambled channel or has a weak signal. And the TV’s did not allow for wireless connection to our laptop, so we were unable to use our Xfinity account to watch any of our programs on the TVs. We were also very disappointed with the incompetent & inadequate levels of maintenance/repairs in this hotel. I took a few pictures of the very sloppy drywall and caulking repairs. Honestly, a 10 year old child with a plastic picnic knife could do a nicer job than the person doing repairs/maintenance in this hotel. This Candlewood Hotel is an embarrassment to IHG Hotels & Resorts.

This was THE nicest hotel room I have stayed in for under $100 since the Covid shutdowns. I just stayed for one night as I was passing through the area, but honestly wish I could stay longer. The room was super clean. The bed was comfortable enough to be at a 4 star hotel! Furniture was modern without looking super cheap. I appreciated the carpet tiles as I hate how dusty and gritty uncarpeted floors get. The bathroom was clean, spacious, and well lit. I read an earlier review complaining that the shower was to powerful, and found that person to be completely, gloriously correct. The shower had ample force and honestly it was the best shower I have had in a Long Time. My partner wasn't going to shower but I forced her to, telling her she would have no regrets. She agreed. There's a full, clean, updated kitchenette which I didn't use but did test all the appliances on 'cause...ADHD! Everything worked and there's even nice plates, pots, and silverware stocked! But even not using any of this it was very worth the price! I'd give it 5 stars even if it was just a standard hotel room at the same price. Check in was super nice even at midnight. There is a slight musty smell in the hallways...ignore it! The room has none of that and you won't spend much time in the hallway anyway. I'd rather have gorgeous rooms than a fancy lobby or hallways! I booked through priceline near midnight on checkin day, so your cost may differ.

The only reason this place didn’t get five stars on the overall rating is because when you enter the lobby, it needs updated. The ONE elevator is accessible straight ahead -wasn’t sure anything else available there because there was no direction from the desk clerk explaining the toiletries and food items located right behind the small reception area, you can’t see it unless you’re walking past that area. (No Continental brkfst) Plenty of restaurant choices around this area of Winchester The One elevator needs updated and when arriving on the floor, it smelled like a potent deodorizer trying to cover up a smoke Odor. A non-smoking hotel ?? But ONCE INSIDE THE ROOM.. 👍🏼😃very pleased with The updates including a beautiful kitchen area, counter, sink, dishwasher microwave and a wonderful full-size refrigerator. 👏🏽Small window, but nice open area with plenty of space for having a small meal at the rounded table with a easy chair also for reclining and counterspace for suitcases. The beds were comfy. The pillows were great. The bathroom and shower area all updated nicely , love the lighting in the bathroom.. The afternoon check-in guy at the reception desk is super friendly and accommodating. The parking lot was a little sketchy hard to find a place if you came back in after 6 PM, but they have ONE pavilion in the back -up against a wooded area, which is nice.

This Candlewood has been a completely different experience than EVERY other Candlewood I have stayed in before. Keep in mind, my husband and I travel for work and we lived in a Candlewood for 6 months RIGHT before coming here. We have been at this location for a month and this hotel does NOTHING for us. This location has consistent noise problems. Understandable to want to fix that but fix it with the actual problem. We were given a “warning” by “management” like we were apart of the drunk crowds of construction workers that party every night just because someone below us complained that we get home late DUE TO WORK. We have NEVER made any noise more severe than the alcoholics playing in traffic outside. Cleaning has only came to our room once and we were asleep. They show up 2-3 weeks later 3 people deep telling us our room is dirty (we clean it ourselves. I have asked on multiple occasions to borrow cleaning equipment from staff so we could) AND pushed past us to look at our room like we’re hiding something? We felt disrespected and asked to be put on “do not disturb” list because there’s no reason for that behavior. Nobody’s coming in our personal space, touching our things with that funky demanding attitude. Now after a month here, suddenly they don’t take trash from the hallways anymore unless they clean your room. They let our trash sit in front of our door for A WEEK before ironically typing up a note telling us to take our own trash out and leaving not only the note on the door but the trash still out there. They don’t clean half of the rooms on our floor including ours so what job are y’all actually doing that you can’t throw a bag of trash in the trash bin you walk around the hallway with?? We change our own sheets/linens, vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, clean our toilet/shower/sink and y’all can’t take one bag of trash? That nonsense was never a policy at the previous IHG hotels we’ve stayed at. Regardless if they cleaned our rooms or not. We go downstairs to clarify the note with front desk and the 2 cleaning ladies come around to tell my husband HE’S LAZY. HE DOESNT WORK HERE! They said plenty of other things under their breath and they’re lucky my husband didn’t cuss them clean out. I’m pregnant and he works 14 hour days…it would be nice to have a hotel we’re PAYING FOR actually help us. We have never had a bad experience with any hotel we’ve stayed in. We’ve also never had any complaints towards us from any hotel we’ve ever been in so this place consistently down our necks when we’re barely here during the day is strange. The only nice thing about this hotel is 2 of the front desk receptionists. The tall bald man and the man with the hat have been the most helpful. I don’t know their names but every time we need something they’re on it. Aside from them, you’re get better help sleeping outside Walmart than in here. If it was not for work we would not be here. We can promise we will...

I booked this for my boyfriend and I for Valentines week we stayed for 3 nights and gotta say I am impressed this is a 2 star hotel for $135 a night! Everything was comfy, quiet, enough space (bathroom was big) and we felt like we had privacy. The knives they give for the kitchenette gotta say is lackluster so bring your own chef knife if you plan on cooking/chopping stuff up for food! The stovetop worked great just takes awhile for it to heat up to max to cook meats but it did the job. The shower is amazing and the mirror in the bathroom is very nice and big very easy to get ready in the morning (make-up, brush teeth, doing hair and they give a hairdryer as well) The tv's are flatscreens and are capable of connecting your phones, laptops, switch/consoles up too them if you bring them for that through hdmi cable or shared screen. The wifi we had some lag or disconnects once or twice but it didn't ruin our stay and it was doable for just chilling out with a movie in bed. Speaking of the bed I have a spine injury so I was worried about the bed quality for my back but it was okay, I had to bring my own pillows which I am very glad I did cause I needed them for my legs so my spine wouldn't hurt. The bed is very neutral though not to stiff not to soft! We didn't check out the gym or cupboards we were doing a lot of walking already and didn't want to be fatigued and we had enough food we didn't need the snacks or breakfast items but its super nice to have if it's needed/wanted! The parking space I will say though seems kind of.. small? You have to drive around the building and feels kind of odd but seems fine enough. The location is nice though more than enough places to eat like Ihop, Golden Corral, Cracker Barrel tons others around and its 5-10mins away from the old town district of Winchester and the Mall so there is more than enough stuff too do! All in all this hotel was great and I made some amazing memories with my boyfriend here and will be coming back if the chance...

We stayed here for about 7 months, and as with any extended stay there are pros and cons

Pros: -staff is the best! friendly, tries to help find solutions, accommodating, and kind! staff alone are 5 stars -free laundry! an amazing perk for extended stays -grill and supplies available for my husband -full kitchen with an array of supplies already in the room, and you can loan supplies from the front desk like a rice cooker or blender -quiet enough that you kind of feel like you're in a duplex rather than hotel -room service comes by more often than most places to offer their services

cons: -when we first arrived our door became locked and the master key didn't work, we were locked out and had to move rooms -there is currently a mice problem within the last month of our stay. again, staff helped by setting traps and calling pest control, but finding droppings around your things makes you uneasy -they put a hold on your card for double the amount you pay per week, and since they charge on fridays, the hold stays until the following monday. at one point we asked the front desk why that was, and they were able to "change something in the system" to keep it from happening, but that only lasted for 3 months. when we renewed, it started happening again, but when we asked this time the front was confused on what we were talking about -they do not have enough trained staff to keep up with requests. at any time there's only one or two people who are able to handle all aspects of the job (shout out to Jennifer!), but they are overworking these people and not properly training new people to be able to handle themselves. so if we had an issue or request, we would have to wait until that one person was scheduled to get any answer -check the charges every week: we had an issue of being overcharged, but they rectified it as soon as we...
