On July 28 I purchased the last Suncast Shed display. I told Nan & Mindy E. that I had no way to transport an 8’ x 7’ shed - I was told that they would have it disabled & placed at the back receiving door for pickup on the 29th.
I get there on the 29th & it’s outback in the sun & still in one piece. Talked to the shipper/receiver, told him it was supposed to be dismantled & he basically said I was a liar. “We don’t EVER do that!”
Well someone needs to tell that to your managers. So I called Nan. She apologized & said she would send someone back. 10 minutes later an employee showed up with 2 cordless drills with driver bits. No wrenches, sockets nothing else. Finally realizes he needs more tools he leaves, returns 15 minutes later with two wrenches. Another 15 minutes passes & he’s still working on the 1st bolt. “That’s all the tools we have. I was lucky to find the wrenches”Finally I gave up - I will go home & get the right tools. An hour later I returned & started taking the shed apart myself. Mind you I’m in my late 60’s and disabled. By now it’s mid 90’s outside, well over 100° in the black roofed shed - the plastic & the metal actually burned your fingers. Not a single Costco employee came to help. My daughter called the store to request help but nobody came. 3 hours later the shed was ready for transport. Of course nobody came out to help load.
I have got to say this was THE worse customer service I’ve ever experienced anywhere. Your shipper needs some training on how to speak to a customer - including don’t call them liars - and everyone needs to get on the same page. If your policy is you don’t dismantle displays then say so. I would have not purchased the item.
Late Tuesday I made as much of a complaint as Costco allows via Chat - not a word from anyone as of August 1.
Personable customer service is the only thing that can save Costco from Amazon - buying local at a brick & mortar store was way too painful & frustrating. They have moved to my “last...
Read moreIn the past, I have entered Costco parking lots on my way to somewhere else and that experience alone put me off Costco.
Having moved to an area where the nearest BJ's is at least an hour's drive, my wife signed us up for a Costco membership. I accepted it with an open mind.
First two visits, similar parking lot situation--cars circling slowly on the hunt for the rare open spot, loaded-down pedestrians staggering through the lanes oblivious to passing vehicles...
Third visit--a line of cars at one entrance nearly a dozen deep just to get into their parking lot, another entrance--half a dozen. I took this second entrance, drove around the building, through the entire parking lot, and parked a good 100 yards from the store entrance in a row of cars comprising a makeshift curb parking along the entranceway (not the section where other folks had parked in the fire lane, mind you).
Inside, the pedestrian flow follows a similar unawareness of people to their surroundings and other people. One does a lot of bobbing, weaving, and even jumping just to get through the store.
I am not a spoiled shopper by any means, but I have found the Costco experience highly unpleasant. I've often suggested to my wife that we go out to Costco for a cheap dinner at their famed (rightly so, I concede) food court, but I'll that stop doing that now; it's not worth the trouble.
Costco does many things right--pays their helpful and friendly employees well, supports worthy causes, doesn't fill their book section with pro-f*scist tomes as BJ's does--and I would love to support them as a positive business, but a) it is a nightmare getting in and out of their stores and b) apart from their reasonably priced premium dog food, they don't really carry a lot of stuff I buy, including a staple like skim milk.
Besides, the local Walmart is cheaper, has what I want, and is far...
Read moreIf I could give their pharmacy staff a negative rating, I would. I work for a prescriber and called in a prescription for a client for their cat's revolution. Not only did I wait on hold for 15 minutes just to speak to a staff member, I was then put on hold for another 10 minutes to wait to speak to the pharmacist. Spoke to pharmacist, called in the script as I do to multiple pharmacies day in and day out. Approximately 10 minutes later, the rudest pharmacy tech I have ever, and I mean, ever dealt with, called back and insisted that because the Costco computer system lists their Revolution by weight, that the RX I called in was incorrect and she needed the cat's weight. Despite me explaining twice that feline revolution only comes in one size. I also explained to her that the feline dose was for cats 5-15lbs (again still one size). Completely disregarded my explanations, spoke over me instead of listening to what I was saying, and continued to demand she needed a weight to dispense the "correct" size because her computer told her it came in different sizes. (Again, this is Canine Revolution that comes in sizes, not feline.) When she finally decided to hear what I was trying to explain, she snapped at me, "Oh. So I guess we're just supposed to know that?" AND HUNG UP. -- You better believe the rest of our office staff and doctors have been made aware of this and Winchester Costco's Pharmacy is on our list of place we will no longer submit prescriptions to for any reason. If we are a prescriber and you treat us this way, I can't even imagine how horrible you treat your customers....
