Absolutely terrible experience. Cost us $40+ for two people. And the senior citizen "discount" was only $0.60 for my mom. The bathrooms were disgusting - out of five stalls in the women's room, one was out of order, one was stopped up, one had pee all over the seat and in one the entire toilet lifted up and clanked every time someone sat or stood. The stall walls and doors were filthy and just covered with grime and gunk. Not just hand and fingerprints, but all sorts of other grunge or dirt. No paper towels either, but it looked like no one had cleaned it in ages so just turning the faucet off and opening the door was disgusting.
The service was terrible. The cups looked dirty and something was in my drink, which I saw after we picked out a table. I took it back and said there was something in my drink, could I just get a to-go cup of Coke. They handed me a tiny child-size cup. Just the cup, no Coke. I literally just said there was something in my drink and they just hand me a cup to pour it in? So I flagged them down again and said there was something in my drink, could I get Coke with no ice. So they get me Coke - with ice. Like what is so hard about this??
The food wasn't good at all. We went at a busy time, but most things I got were cold (and they weren't supposed to be.) The rolls - the main reason we went there - were cold AND stale. The pizza tasted worse than frozen pizza. The fried chicken tasted burnt. The fruit available was mostly stuff out of cans - the only thing that looked fresh was the cantaloupe - which they had cut into slices leaving the rind on. They were out of most desserts and I even went back and checked about ten minutes later.
The only nice thing I can say about the experience is that there were no flies, but this is the dead of winter and given how gross everything else was, I am 100% certain there would have been flies if the temperature outside had been above freezing. By far this was the worst Golden Corral I've been to. We definitely will not...
Read moreI love Golden Corral. It is set up cafeteria style with a huge selection of food to choose from. There is a section for meats, tacos, for side dishes, salads, and for desserts. You pay one price for all you can eat, so I would suggest you go hungry. I would suggest that you try little of everything you like. In the meat section you have choices such as pot roast, ham, fish, different dishes with shrimp, hamburgers and cheeseburgers, chicken, pork chops. Side dishes include mash potatoes with gravy, corn, beans, rice, macaroni and cheese, and several others. The salad section has a large selection so for salad lovers, you can have one devil of a salad. You can make your own tacos with a large selection of toppings. Most people will enjoy the desserts. They have pie, cakes, brownies, cookies, strawberries with a chocolate fountain. The price per person is very reasonable for the amount of food you can consume. Lunch and dinner time are the most crowded, but it is a large place with plenty of tables. The staff is friendly and very efficient. They check on you often to make sure your drinks are refilled and to assist you if you need it. I have been going to Golden Corral for probably 20 years and have never been disappointed with the food or the service. Bring a big appetite and fill up. You won't be...
Read morethis place has gone downhill. i went there at about 3:30. they no longer have 3 of my favorites. many trays were empty. some trays had a few old crusty items left. i guess they were waiting for them to completely empty but most people do not want the dregs. i tried one anyways and it was indeed dry, tasteless,
multiple trays of items with meat were completely devoid of meat. yes you can ask that they refill things, but you will have to wait. more importantly, sometimes you can not get the attention of staff.
update 2024-01-29 still several trays like fajitas all peppers and onions and 2 pitiful scraps of beef and chicken, beef and gravy with about 10 little dried up meat chunks. and this time missing my favorite pot roast replaced with pork (which i do not eat) pot roast. that said, there were still plenty of tasty items, and considering lunch cost of only $12 which includes drink, that is an excellent deal. p.s... why is it so difficult to label each item? i see that not just me, but many customers are asking each other, what's this and what's that?
update 2024-12-31 So much for $12 lunch. Now $21. That is a 75% price increase in a single year. Waaay more than inflation justifies. For this 75% increase nothing at all...
