WARNING - YOU MAY BE STAYING HERE AT YOUR OWN PERIL
I HEREBY AWARD THIS LOCATION NEGATIVE 100 STARS
I recently stayed here for 5 days. This entire post is my opinion based on an account of my own personal experience and what could happen to you. SO BEWARE!!
-Arrived back to hotel around 4 PM Thursday July 3rd.
-The next day, Friday morning, after checkout I discovered damage to the rear passenger side of my car
-I immediately went back to the front desk and Reported the damage to hotel staff, including a manager. I was told Richard, the GM, was out of country and he controls the cameras and he would be back Monday and contact me by noon Monday after reviewing camera footage. HE NEVER CALLED.
-So I called hotel. I got him on the phone and had to start at the beginning because he knew nothing about the incident. No one bothered to tell him.
-I explained the damage occurred sometime after 4 PM Thursday and 11AM Friday. He said his front camera didn’t reach my parking spot. I asked about the camera on the back of the hotel. He said he’d check and call back. This camera on the back was what his manager thought might have caught the truck (or whatever vehicle it was) that caused the damage to my car.
-HE NEVER BOTHERED TO CALL BACK. So yesterday I called him again. He once again said the front camera doesn’t reach my parking spot. He never bothered to check the back camera that we discussed
What he did do was proceed to tell me he looked at the picture of my car damage that his manager took and it doesn’t look like a truck backed into it, because it starts on the side and wraps slightly around the back. He seemed to be insinuating I was lying and the damage did not occur while parked at hotel overnight
-I told him to check his front camera which will show my car arriving back at hotel undamaged on Thursday around 4PM. After that, I said, your guess is as good as mine as to what happened. But if you had adequate cameras, we’d know. Even a member of his staff said to me “I told him we should have adequate camera footage out front of the whole building.”
-I told him yesterday I would like a refund of my stay to help cover some of my insurance deductible to get my vehicle repaired. He said he’d have to send that through the corporate office, that he is not authorized to issue a refund. He said he would send the request today, and then email me that it was complete. Well guess what. THIS KING OF CUSTOMER SERVICE RICHARD NEVER EMAILED ME CONFIRMING THE REQUEST WAS SUBMITTED. IT PROBABLY WASNT SUBMITTED.
CLEARLY THE GENERAL MANAGER RICHARD DOES NOT CONCERN HIMSELF WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE. IT SEEMS TO BE OF NO CONCERN TO HIM.
-I’m still requesting a refund of my stay to help cover my insurance deductible. I agree the hotel didn’t cause the damage, but they should have adequate camera coverage, which they do not. And even his staff recognized the lack of camera coverage and has told him in the past it should be fixed. AND STOP INSINUATING YOUR GUEST IS LYING WHEN YOU COULD EASILY CHECK THE CAMERA OUT BY THE ENTRANCE TO THE HOTEL THAT WILL SHOW ME ARRIVING BACK AT THE HOTEL AROUND 4 PM THURSDAY WITH NO DAMAGE TO MY CAR.
-There are tons of work trucks and tractor trailers that stay here and park all over the place at this hotel. In my opinion YOU ARE NOT SAFE PARKING HERE WITHOUT ADEQUATE CAMERA COVERAGE.
Richard , if you decide to do the right thing and Refund my stay, I will remove this review. If I do not hear from you, which obviously is very likely as customer service is apparently not a concept you understand, I will contact IHG Corporate as well as report this to the Better Business Bureau and request a refund with...
Read moreWe were greeted by very nice front desk attendants and treated very well the entire stay by them! I felt bad for them because they must know they are covering for some inadequacies in the overall operations of the hotel. While our room was very clean when we arrived, and the beds were comfy and well made, housekeeping only came into the room once in 4 days and even then they only provided ONE clean towel and 2 washcloths (in 4 days!). There were 3 of us! They never replenished coffee pods or cups, had to ask at front desk every day for more. We decided to stay here because of the availability of the bar and restaurant. Ummm..."availability" is not the word I would use to describe them. Breakfast is only 2 hours in the morning (7:30-9:30) and even though the waitstaff was very sweet, it is very bare bones with margarine (that doesn't melt on the cold toast) and watery eggs, mushy bacon...kind of like airline food if you get my drift. Maybe dinner is better but we didn't take that chance. The bar was open for 3 hours on 2 of the 3 nights we were there a completely closed on a Saturday night. Just meh...not good. There's a small airport right behind the hotel and single engine planes are landing and taking off precariously close to the roof of the hotel..I mean..kind of cool but also noisy and a little scary. There is a huge commercial construction project going on next door so the construction workers park all of their big trucks, flatbeds, equipment in the back parking lot and party in that same lot after work so the trashcan is overflowing with beer bottles, fast food trash, cups, cigarette butts and they were drinking and smoking pot when we arrived. Just very gross and seedy and uncomfortable overall. It is difficult to pull into and pull out of this hotel from the very close, very busy highway because there is a curve right before the driveway that is difficult to see around to make sure cars (and huge trucks) are not barreling up the road to hit incoming and outgoing customers. Thank you to the very sweet, very professional, front desk personnel for making us feel so welcome! The beds and linens and comfort of the room overall was good but not enough to cover for the other inadequacies of the hotel. We would not recommend this hotel to friends...
Read moreWe cannot express how disappointed we were in our recent stay in this hotel.
On a positive note our check in went well and we were greeted by a very friendly staff member.
We had chosen this hotel on our way from Florida heading home to Ontario, firstly because of location and secondly because of the beautiful outdoor pool.
We arrived, very tired from a long drive, quickly changed and headed to the pool. To our surprise a note was taped to the pool entrance door advising it was closed for maintenance. The note advised we could use the poolside chairs. Well sitting beside a scum topped pool is not our idea if relaxing!!!!! Disgusting!!! No mention of the pool issue was mentioned at time of booking or check in !!!
Back in our room we were greeted with a disgusting green dirty cleaning rag on our bathroom counter (obviously the cleaning staff had accidentally left it). Upon further review of the bathroom we realized our shower curtain was ripped in two different areas.
In our living area of the King Standard room we had to view a large black dirty spot on the ceiling, honestly we have absolutely no idea what it could have been from.
I then went to draw open the curtains which were grossly dirty as well.
This room was so below our expectations we cannot even explain how dissatisfied we are.
We expressed our deepest concerns during our stay and we were awarded a slight discount on our room rate. While this was appreciated we cannot express how dissatisfied we were in a brand we’ve been loyal to for years Holiday Inn !!!!!
This hotel needs a lot of attention and we really hope the ownership of this hotel takes our comments seriously. At this point in time we would not recommend this site for anyone to stay in. This is very disappointing because the location of this hotel to everything fun in Savannah is so perfect.
Please, please, please take our comments seriously and...
