OK, I just read a bunch of reviews about this place and I actually feel like people are exaggerated in many cases. I have been staying here for about 3 weeks and it's honestly not that bad and I have actually stayed in several hotels that were way worse than this place. 1st of all, I will admit that I wasn't sure what to expect when we were checking in and Let me just tell you, it was way worse in my head than what I I experienced in reality. My husband and I just moved back to NC and we needed something with a reasonable weekly rate so that we are also able to save for an apartment or house. This place worked with us on the our rate as well as the deposit amount. The staff here according to other reviews is supposed to be horrible however that also has not been what I've experienced. They have been very nice and accommodating. They have helped me to figure out ways to make this work... they even allowed my step son to bring in his deep freezer and put it in the room so that he had a place to keep food for the lids. If that's not going above and beyond for your guest, what is? There are a lot of families here and the owner has even got totuors coming out to help the kids with homework and their studies at no charge. Pretty amazing service to offer at a hotel right? The room we are in is huge in comparison to many other places I've stayed... the bed is cozy and comfortable and the pillows are fantastic. Our room was clean when we checked in... there was some dust on the hardwood floors but it was very minor and by no means was anything about the room nasty. The water pressure is amazing and the water gets very hot. I will have to agree that someone the hallways could be better kept and so could the stairwells nut it could be a lot worse too. The elevator doe smake some strange noises and I believe that there may even be a ghost that haunts it but every time it's had issue the hotel owner brings in people to fix it. I swear I am really pretty hard to please when it comes to where I lay mu head and Granted this place isn't perfect... it's really not bad and they really are working hard to get everything redone here. I booked this hotel for a weekend getaway and it was far from it. Soon as I pulled in the parking lot it was tweakers all standing outside begging for money and smoking. When i walked into the front lobby it had a distinct smell that was mixed with mildew and trash. Only one elevator was working, there weren’t any microwave in your room, you had to go downstairs and use the ones in this open room full of trash located next to the front desk. I had room 809. The hotel room itself was big but it was empty at the same time, it had wires sticking out the wall and no mirror or hotel room phone. The bathroom was very small and didn’t have enough towels, had used shampoo and conditioner bottles from previous guests and roaches. My first night it was roaches coming out the bathroom wall and running on the sink counter and on the toilet and going back into the bathroom wall, i went downstairs and complained to front desk and they said to come back the next morning and get a new room. While i was downstairs it was an abundant of roaches crawling behind the desk where the management and workers sit and one of the white girls that’s staff even pointed them out and apologized about the stay. I was never given a new room due to the hotel being “full”. The second night it was roaches in the bathroom again and it was a roach in the bed at then I went back downstairs and talked to Mani and he said he would tell front desk in the morning to give me a new room or a refund. Mani then chases behind me walking to the elevator and says he can’t give me a refund but we can get the other room in the morning. Morning comes and I go to the front desk after I check out of my old room and I tell him about the new room and he says Mani never relayed the messages so he calls Mani and Mani makes up this whole new story saying he can’t give me a refund or another room. I even have Mani on video saying he can give me a refund or another room and the front desk still won’t uphold it. This hotel is a scam, nothing works in here, it’s dirty, roach infested. I moved out my house and needed a place until my new house was ready.I am a corporate worker and work from home at times..A worker at this hotel kept banging on my door as I was on a call.I informed her that I did not wish to have towels and she informed that I needed to open the door.I told her that after I finish my shift I would bring any dirty towels I had down.She said with a NASTY attitude I need them by the end of the day and I needed to fix my attitude!!I told her it’s just towels it’s not that serious!!On a power trip over TOWELS??I don’t think so!!First of all the hotel is DIRTY roaches,a lady bug infestation,dirty sheets no working Tv or refrigerator,burn marks in the comforter set..Not one house keeper on the premises.Lady bugs on the bed the ceiling as well something bite me on my face.I let all this slide not wanting to cause problems.Maintenance showed up with pajama pants..Towels are stained!I was asked to leave in the middle of my work day because I refused towels without getting my side of the story.I contacted corporate who said they can’t even find a reservation for me.RUNNNNNNN this place is...
