I really wanted to like this place. Let me start by saying this is an honest review from a person that’s had Jamaican (Caribbean) food many times from all over. This is by far the absolute worst I’ve ever had and I’m convinced that the people leaving good reviews for this place has never had authentic Jamaican food. I ordered the oxtail plate. There were so many things wrong with this food and I was pissed that I wasted my money, quite honestly. The first thing I noticed was there was way too much rice probably to make up for the fact that there was much of nothing else. The plating was terrible. All of my food was buried under the rice and all mixed together. Not everyone likes their food mixed and touching, gross. When I first tasted the gravy I literally laughed. Not only was it very sweet, but it tasted NOTHING like Jamaican flavors. I’m not sure where they got this recipe from but it was absolutely horrible. Very sweet and I’m assuming they dumped sugar in it to cover up this unique flavor that this food had. Next the oxtail. They were NOT CLEANED properly! They were FULL of fat. So much fat there was hardly any lean meat. I had about 4 bones and fat for $20+. Absolutely ridiculous! Not only that they were also tough and not tender or fall off the bone like traditional Jamaican oxtail. After I realized I couldn’t eat the oxtail, or wanted to, I moved on and decided to try the cabbage and plantains. I had to dig to even get to them and when I did they were covered in that disgusting sweet gravy! But even the gravy could’ve hide the taste of the cabbage. I’m not sure how one can mess up cabbage but the cabbage had no flavor at all! It has a slight kick to it but other than that it tasted like they threw it in a pot and took it out to serve it without adding a lick of seasoning. The plantains, which I only received 2 tiny pieces, were drenched in the gravy so I didn’t even want to taste them. Aside from all of the above, my food was FULL of Pimento seeds and huge thyme stems. I’m not sure why but when I say they were everywhere they were! Unprofessional! This was my first and last time ever visiting this place and I do not recommend. Highly disappointed that I gave them my money for this crap. I do...
Read moreI came into this restaurant on 10/20 11:00 to order some food and was refused service because I had a Service Dog. I was question, they asked for dog id, told Me what i'm suppose to have. The lady attended at Papa Mart also refused to listen as well. I stated several times that's aganist the law! I even told them to ask the police. I went a step further an asked can I order and you can bring it to the car and they said No! #ADA The owner was so nasty. He didn't even look to see that she had on service dog collar and he told me he was an officer. I said there's no possible way.You can an officer and not know the law. I can you own a business and not know this! I had my Service dog paper work in the car, came back showed them anyway and left. Wasn't there because the food is great. I was there because I was trying to drop food off to a funeral.

Read moreWhat a hidden gem! I was craving some jerk chicken and stumbled across this place on Google and decided to try it. Yes it's in a gas station but these people can cook!! There was one lady working so I assume she made the food, and 5 stars to you girl! There's an authentic Jamaican food truck I go to usually but I will most definitely come back here to Outta D Kitchen. The woman who cooked & served my food was so nice too. Friendly smile. I got the brown stew chicken for me and the jerk chicken for my husband and both were delicious and you can tell cooked with love. Even the rice & veggies seasoned very well which is not common!!! Other Jamaican places I've tried had bland cabbage, rice, & peas..but not here!! Plantains crispy and juicy. Yes you pay a higher price but get an enormous amount of food and great quality. $20 a plate (for the large) but I'm gonna get 3 meals off my one box alone. Great job Outta D Kitchen & thanks for satisfying my craving tonight!! Will...
