So, we had heard some negative things about the location in the past, but the hotel advertised to be newly renovated and under new management, so we decided to give it a try anyway. So, in this context, here were a few notable things about our stay:
The website where we booked said Travelodge had a breakfast. When we checked in, the receptionist said there was no breakfast, and that there hadn't been at any Travelodge since the first of the year. Okay, misunderstanding, maybe the website hadn't been updated, no big deal. BUT when we got up the next morning, we noticed the sign right outside of the hotel advertises a cont. breakfast. False advertising, to say the least.
The lobby and the hallways smell like cigarette smoke, always. All the rooms on the first floor are advertised non-smoking, yet the whole building reeks of cigarettes. It's extremely unappealing.
I assume the room didn't get cleaned thoroughly between visitors. There was a razor in the bathroom that wasn't ours and didn't appear to belong to the hotel, and we noticed a roach in the bathroom as well.
There is often no one available at the front desk. Our toilet clogged one evening during our stay and we were not able to find anyone to help us with this issue until the following day, and even then they just gave us a plunger from behind the desk and we fixed the toilet ourselves.
The bed is extremely uncomfortable. We didn't get a good night's sleep our entire week stay. Tossed and turned all night. The pillows were very flat and kept falling into the crack in the bedframe.
Many of the power outlets in our room didn't work, and also we had to reset the setup of the television every time it turned off.
The door lock didn't fit the door, so you had to lift that latch and push at just the right angle to lock the door. Actually, none of the doors seemed to fit their frames, and we kept hearing doors slamming and banging in the hallway at all hours of the night. Was a bit unsettling.
In summary, we were very disappointed with our stay at this Travelodge, even with the low expectations presented to us ahead of time. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone, and I myself will be staying far away...
Read moreThe Travelodge was just Okay. The room was clean, but small. We booked a room with a king-size bed and sofa, but we got a room with only one queen-size bed and no sofa. The toilet was not properly bolted down to the floor. We I sat on it, it tilted to the side and I thought for a second I was going down. It was quite an uncomfortable feeling. The toilet didn't flush properly either, and of course there was no plunger. And we ran out of toilet tissue in the middle of the night. The entire bathroom experience was not good at all. The police were coming down the hall when I was leaving. A flat screen TV had been boosted from a room down the hall during the night. I was not surprised at all because while walking my dog that night, I seen homeless people hanging around outside of the building. The security there needs to be improved a lot before I would recommend anyone I care about to go there. I wouldn't suggest this place for breakfast either. They barely could call it a breakfast. They served tiny cups of coffee, and even smaller cups for juice. Even though there was not any real juice served anyway. The served some kind of orange drink, but it was not real citrus juice of any kind. They served 2 kinds of cold cereal. Tiny little muffins (the Little Debbie size). What a joke. And nothing else at all. No fresh anything. No kidding! And to top it all off, the Indian man at the front desk watched me so closely when I was getting my big breakfast, I felt like if I tried to take an extra baby size muffin, that he might start telling at me in a foreign language or stone me to death. Not a great...
