Simply Bahamian Food — Restaurant in Winter Haven

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. Love because I enjoy Caribbean food, specifically conch. Being from Miami, that's kind of what we do. Hate because they always seem to be out of something. I don't drive, so I tend to order from them through DoorDash. We already know how risky that is. I can count on one hand the number of times my order has been correct. This is why I have learned to call them and check their stock before ordering. What’s worse is that their conch fritters are 95% batter and 5% conch (and that’s being generous). My mom didn't enjoy them either. I don’t want to discourage others from eating from this place, as I understand human error, and I don't know the pressures of running a food truck, but since this is Winter Haven, I really counted on Simply Bahamian to give me a taste of home away from home. Only giving two stars and that’s because the lady was nice, But I feel like I just wasted $28 plus gas for driving all the way down here from up in Orlando. I purchased an order of conch fritters and an order of crack conch only, no sides. But what I received was an order of fried batter for both. The fritters had the smallest tiniest little pieces of conch you could swallow them without chewing, The rest was doughy with a strange after taste. The small amount of crack conch that was in there did taste flavorful but it was fried so hard, that it was uneditable, which was very unnecessary because it can be eaten raw, So it doesn’t need to fry that hard, I just ended up throwing all of it in the trash. Having been born and raised in South Florida and marrying into a Bahamian Family, real Bahamian food is non-existent here until now! We found the food truck just browsing Google. We had to check it out. Unsure if it was the real deal due to lack of food diversity. . .but this is the REAL DEAL! We ordered the Cracked Conch Snack Plate.
