Back in May I had chosen to go with Home Depot to replace the carpets in 4 rooms of my house with luxary vinyl plank. While the installers were great, every interaction with this store has been a nightmare. First the items got delivered to the store and no one called to set up a delivery. I got calls from the installers saying it says the materials are there so not sure why they haven't called. I call to set up the delivery and get told the delivery window for the day selected was going to be 6am to 8pm. I asked why the window is so wide and they said that's how they do it. When I asked for a shorter window I was told that I would have to pay a additional 30.00. I let them know if they come before 9am then I won't be up, so it has to be after that. I asked if the delivery would be in the house and I was told the delivery is to the first room in the house. The delivery driver arrives with almost all of the material except the quarter rounds, and says he doesn't bring items in the house that's not part of his job. Then I check the items and find out the quarter rounds are not there, I asked the delivery guy and he said this is all he has so I have to call the store. I call the store and they said they are out and not sure why the system says they have everything, the installation is scheduled. I informed them that I have taken off of work and need this installation to happen, and cannot wait a week for it to come back in. The manager went to another store and brought it to my house later in the day, wasting my day and doing back and forth phone calls. Me and my wife had to move all the product in the house ourselves because the vinyl planks can't stay out in the humid FL heat. I called and complained about the shipping and only got some of it back from Daphne at the store. After the installation was complete, I brought back excess product to the store on June 13th and couldn't get the whole amount refunded. The materials returned should have come out to 322 dollars plus tax and instead I only could get 189 back. The return desk and manager doing the return messed up the return and it got frozen in the system. I waited a hour in the store for them to talk to IT and customer care to get it corrected and they could do nothing. I received a Incident number and was told it should be resolved in a few days. I looked on my credit card statement today, June 30th, and it still has not been refunded. I called and was on the phone with the credit card representatives, they returned me to talk to someone at the store. They transfer me and they tell me there is still nothing they can do and I have to call Daphne at the store tomorrow. Daphne was hard to get in contact with after the items were delivered and I kept getting the run around. The shipping bit they refunded went towards the purchase on some of the material and this is what caused the whole issue in the first place, and why the system won't give me the full amount. Also I had to give them the floor plank boxes I had brought back so dont even have the boxes, I was told the incident report would be all I need. This is absolutely ridiculous how much time I have wasted for a more than 5000 installation. I would not recommend using the winter haven store for installation projects, with out naming names it was said by employees I talked to about how they would never do a installation thru this store. I don't normally leave reviews but after today I am beyond more than pissed.
A couple days after I wroet this review I was reached out to and told they were looking into it and it would be resolved. It is July 18th, I have now put in a credit card dispute with the home depot card, I have called customer care and have a case number ( mind you they sent me a email and when I responded back I never got reached out to), and I have talked to Daphne at the store again, and again I am being told it will be taken care of and I need to wait again. It is Friday and it won't be finished till at least Monday now, if I am lucky. I can't believe this hasn't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreKatherine Lance is by far the worst general manager. Iām sure you can tell as you walk into Winter Haven Home Depot that itās unorganized from the Overheads and garden to the floor & everything starts from the top āmanagementā & they can put on a good front. Lakeland for example go and compare I promise as a customer or associate you will see the quality and love put into other stores with better management. Everyone is underpaid and overworked. When hired I was told my dad battling cancer would be taken into consideration⦠3 of the 8 Home Depot core values are (Taking care of our people, Respect for all people, and Doing the right thing) the second month I was being bullied for raising money as a 19-year-old caregiver for my 42-year-old father battling stage 4 liver cancer. Nothing was done when I cried and spoke on this but I still had bills to pay so swallowed all the things done unprofessionally. I was arriving to work minutes not hours late especially in the end because I was evicted from my home & we had no time to move with Dad's health declining like I had never seen. My dad fainted in front of me on move-out day from the pressure. I still left him alone and showed up at Home Depot with a smile. Not even a month after being evicted my dad died & Iām getting an email AN EMAIL I was fired due to attendance. Lord almighty in the heavens knows that 99% of those times I showed up five minutes late I was helping my father. I was sitting in the bathroom making sure he didnāt slip in the shower, I was taking him to pick up and pay for medicine, and I was caught in traffic. Someone who paid all the bills for a parent dying in front of them wouldn't jeopardize a job. Someone who always showed up, always stayed when everyone called out, always picked up other peopleās work, and kept the biggest smile even regulars called me smiley. Nobody knows what happens behind closed doors in peopleās homes. I just wanna say thank you Home Depot for hiring me and saying I can leave whenever to hold my dad's hand in the hospital.. ps I never did. Never spent the night in the hospital and held his hand once while working here & now my dad's gone. Stand behind everything you say in the beginning donāt act like you have a heart! Thank you for the professional email and for not checking on why I havenāt been to work considering I had a dying dad?⦠considering every employee knows my situation you should know boss. I always showed up for these people! My name is SHYLA BORRAS AND MY DADDY IS JESSE JAMES I AM NOT ASHAMED I WILL SAY IT LOUD & PROUD BECAUSE I'm A HONEST GOD LOVING WOMAN. A lot of good people in this store who push me through and donāt make work feel like work and I love them for thatā¤ļøā¤ļø but Management? Being a leader takes a lot more than just cooking food on a holiday. Please don't bother replying as you still haven't called me no need to discuss over google. I'm content with my email it was true colors. I just wanted the people to see this. God bless you if you made it this far, never be afraid to...
