Amazing hotel for the price!
We had the two queen bed room located in the back corner. Love our spot! Because our parking space gives us ample space since our neighbor wasn't using their space.
The room seems to be nicely remodeled. They used the space wisely. They have nice lighting, big tv, 2 sinks, bathroom, tile floor/carpet, and so much more. Everything seems to be pretty clean. Not much of a view on the outside back but we got a nice view of our vehicle for security. And they have VERY hot water, which I find it to be rare because I've never seen anyone provide very hot water, as it can cause harm for those who cannot read the warning label. But I love it and used it!
Their indoor pool was nice! It's simple but fun for the family. I don't recommend going in there when it's crowded. Obviously, it is simple and small but you can do plenty in it. Did not try their outdoor pool, as the motel provided us tickets to Noah's Ark. Although it's a nice add-on, I don't see people using it much.
At no fault to the motel, the neighbors were really loud. I wish there was a sound barrier between rooms. It seems like I can hear their every conversation.
My son(4yr old), found an old piece of gum by the bed. It looks like it has been there for a very long time since it was crusty looking. There were a few other pieces of things we found in the room. It seems like they did some cleaning but they didn't check every little corner. Not a big deal to us but just keep in mind they are not perfect.
The location is nice since it's only a few blocks and you hit the shopping/food area. I wouldn't walk to it but it's not far of a drive. I imagine their location will be much better as the area grows too.
The staff is nice and we were well greeted. I purchased my room through Expedia and had no problems. Compliments to the staff for keeping the place up to date and working hard. We hope to use your motel again in the future and that other customers do not abuse it.
Thank you for a...
Read moreI truly have never had a better lodging experience in my life. The service/ overall experience was enough to make me plan a family vacation to this motel annually. I’ve stayed at 5 star hotels, air bnbs, etc. and nothing was like this. I have never been to the Wisconsin Dells. I planned this trip from a recommendation from my brother. Driving from Texas, I called the motel and asked if I could check in at midnight. That wasn’t a problem. I arrived over an hour late due to traffic and Brad welcomed us as if he was happily expecting us all week. The cost of the room was fiercely underpriced for all the accommodations. Since we were driving all day, Brad decided to upgrade our room to a king room at no extra cost and extended our check out time so we could recharge a bit more. We received free admission to a local animal park (exceeded all expectations but that’s another post). We also received a ton of information and more vouchers for discounts at businesses all over the dells. The room was so cozy and spacious but the cleanliness is the real star. The linens, walls, furniture, and bathroom were immaculate. I have NEVER seen a cleaner room in my life. The shower was literally sparkling. Even the small little amenities were such a joy. There was a make up wipe packet in the bathroom for my wife before bed! This motel offers an outdoor and heated indoor pool, arcade, and much more. There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude and excitement for this motel. My family and I will never stay anywhere else at the Wisconsin Dells, even if the other hotels were free. Thanks so much Brad and staff at the...
Read moreNot the same amazing value it used to be. We had visited 10 years previously, and had a blast! This was in the era of diving boards and much cheaper rates. Nowadays the pricing is in line with a typical chain hotel but not quite the same amenities. Tickets for Timbavati Wildlife Park were appreciated, as was a discount to Pirates Cove Mini Golf course; but there's no breakfast and no real hangout spot for after dinner other than poolside. We stayed in a kitchen equipped room - and had to request or buy several additional items - missing dish soap for hand washing, the bedding for the pull-out sofa bed was stained and not enough to cover up with, and the air conditioner was tough to dial in - it never seemed to crank out super cold air, and when it kicked on/off it was extremely loud (typical for a window mounted unit, I know). We shared a wall with another family and while they were mostly quiet, we had to endure crying babies and outdoor smoking leaking into our room. Location is okay - within walking distance to downtown and relatively quiet but still half mile walk or so, there's also a Kwik Trip across the street but it can get quite dangerous to cross Broadway Street. The pools were nice - very clean and heated enough to keep you warm. Kids enjoyed hopping from outdoors to indoors. The old school arcade room kept them occupied for awhile too.
Overall just an okay impression - not as amazing as we remembered from years past, and not the deal it used to be. I won't rule the Blackhawk out for future stays, but I'll probably take a closer look at other...
