This place is AWESOME! You get to throw axes and have some drinks and beer! What more can you ask for?
One aspect I really enjoyed is you are assigned a coach/trainer that works with your group the whole night. They will teach you how to throw the axe properly; may even show you some moves if you ask nicely.
We came in and with a group of 4 and were paired up with Athena! She was amazing! Really went above and beyond! Made sure everyone was comfortable with the axe size/weight and throwing it. Explained the safety procedures so no one gets hurt. Very knowledgeable and friendly. It felt like Athena was part of the group! Often checking on us and keeping the drinks flowing! 😊
The vibe of the place is Viking based and could be seen/felt throughout! Amazing wall décor, signs, and related furniture! The axe throwing component has different games and backboards you can play for points. We kept it pretty competitive which was great! Ask Athena to show you a couple throws to watch a real PRO! WOAW!
The bar is really close by for quick drink re-fill trips or for impromptu rounds of shots! Their draft beer selection is out of this world! This place could stand up on its own just with the selection. If you enjoy different types of brews, add this place to your list! Worth checking out! They also have a Margarita Tap! We didn’t try it but that sounds awesome! On top of that they have some house shots, or ones I’ve never heard of. One was blue and another was apple cinnamon tasting named “Hels” I believe. All delicious!
After the games Athena spent some more time with us talking about the place itself, and offering some wisdom on the libations. Her friendly vibe really made the night! I really like that we were assigned one person for the night. As I mentioned it felt like she was part of our group! Very fun times!
Also, for a pro tip ask for the not-so-secret secret-menu-item of switching out your axes for THROWING KNIVES! We got to sample a couple throws at the end (shhh don’t tell anyone) and they were super fun! Next time I will be picking knives for the whole game!
I highly recommend a trip to this place! Bring a friend or a group and you’ll have a...
Read moreThere isn’t enough good things my partner and I can say about Asgard. It truly has become our happy place. So let’s start on the building exterior. It’s decorated beautifully with a Norse ship sticking half way out of the building, letting everyone know “this is where those Vikings hang out”. Most axe throwing establishments I have seen have no theme and are very dull on both the outside and inside. Not this place! Once you enter, you go upstairs to the bar/axe throwing area which is decorated with a giant map of Asgard. The tables are imitations of old medieval wooden pub tables and give off the perfect vibe. The food is excellent here, so think about getting some wings or pizza before you start drinking and throwing because you’ll need that extra strength. The bar has a great selection of drinks (I suggest the house Asgard lager) and what’s different and great about this place is you can drink your beer while throwing axes. We had been here twice before, but our instructor Justin gave us some pointers on throwing the knives and was a very fun to talk to. You can tell none of the employees are there just for money by how interested they get with teaching and throwing themselves. Once you are finished throwing axes, there is an amazing exclusively old school game arcade in the basement that is lit by black lights with games such as Mario, donkey Kong, Pac-Man, multiple pinball machines, etc. This truly is a magical place that everyone visiting the area...
Read moreWe had a wonderful time at Asgard axe throwing, we ordered two pizzas which was Balders BBQ chicken and the other one was the meat lovers Odins choice, they all had special cool names! We also had an appetizer which was pizza sticks and we had marinara and Ranch to dip that in. The barbecue chicken was especially delicious probably the best I ever had! The owner ( I'm pretty sure that's who he was) which I can't think of his name right now was pretty cool and animated. He took us through step-by-step showing us exactly what we should do and shouldn't do with many puns and jokes along the way he was pretty great! Even took a picture of our family for us and accidently took a selfie of himself haha! I told him I was a Google reviewer so he was really enjoying posing for the photos! We will definitely be returning cause we had a blast and it was a great bonding experience for my family and I! Also I must point out that I won the axe throwing with 33 points and I was the only girl haha! Now it actually was a bit pricey when buying the pizza and doing the axe throwing cause they were two separate prices and throwing had a time limit, we did 30 minutes and we definitely would have liked to have more time but it was a bit pricey to add time to what we already had so we just stuck with the 30 minutes. I know we spent well over $100 for the four of us but like I said we still really enjoyed it, definitely a great place to take...
