Starlite Motel — Hotel in Wisconsin Dells

**After reading the response from the owner, I am posting the copy of my police report & the video of them coming into our room.

My stay ended in filing a police report. Please read not only mine, but everyone else's negative reviews. They are not even sure about their replies. My friend I stayed here w/ reviewed & they responded that she was with someone that was not me. So, Monday evening I arrived with my friend. The older woman with short white hair showed us our room. I asked how her day was going. She said, "It would be better if I didn't have to deal with American slobs." My friend & I kind of laughed & stupidly still booked the room. We planned on staying 2 nights. Tuesday morning Katherine banged on our door yelling house keeping. We said no thanks. She came back at 11. We said no thanks again. This time she barged into our freaking room. My friend & I were naked. She ordered that we get dressed immediately & pay her. She had my friend's card on file, from when we initially booked. We got dressed & went to office. Waited 15 minutes or so, even though she RUSHED us out of bed. We told her were no longer wanted to stay another night since she invaded our room while naked & sleeping. She wanted us to pay a "facility fee." We refused. Turned into a screaming match. Finally agreed to pay nothing, pack & leave. On our way to pack she yelled, "AMERICAN SLOBS." Also said we were poor & drunk. (We were not drunk, didn't drink at all). 5 minutes into packing, all 3 of the owners were banging on our door. They barged in, the old lady was screaming in my friend's face, waving her hands too close for comfort. We felt very unsafe. Accused us of being drunk again, my friend informed them she doesn't drink at all, & then they started screaming that she is a Muslim. They said they were calling police, I urged them to. Thankfully officers arrived within minutes. The police made them leave our room so we could peacefully finish packing & took our statements. During this the 3 insane owners were still causing a commotion. This is the worst experience I have ever had at a public place in my life. Read their replies to all the negative reviews. They are beyond unprofessional, liars, & completely insane. At least 7 other people with negative reviews have been called drunk, & we aren't the only guests they have barged in on. Spend the extra $ and stay somewhere that doesn't smell like mold & where you don't have the possibility of being assaulted. Can't wait to see their response of them telling me how...

I do not recommend this motel. Upon check in we were informed of a 4% credit card fee. We were told we could go down the road to Kwik Trip to get cash to avoid this. This did not make sense to us. We were told no housekeeping would be done. Our room had an intense musty, moldy smell the entire time we stayed. The bedding smelled musty. Our clothing and hair smelled from the musty smell. We needed to keep the door open to have air. The room was very dark and very outdated. The blinds in our room were broken when we arrived. At night the street lights and motel lights shown brightly in through the broken slates that would not close together so we put up the very thin, almost see through bed cover to shade the lights. The AC unit did not cool the room. After coming back from our day, they had entered our room after telling us no housekeeping. The elderly lady came pounding on our door right away, upset that we put the sheet on the blinds and immediately got on a chair to adjust them after she had done so when they were there earlier. She was telling us that American are disrespectful and we were not allowed to touch the blinds because they cost alot and now they are broken. A short time later her daughter came over to tell us that her Mom is very upset with the sheet on the blinds and asked that we don't touch them. And once again the elderly lady came back to let us know again how Americans are disrespectful. We were very uncomfortable when sitting outside as the elderly lady was always walking around which felt like she was patrolling the area and monitoring everything that guests were doing. There were a few others that were getting "scolded" by her. We did not appreciate our privacy being invaded or being treated like we trashed the room. They could have said the blinds are broken in the room, please be careful when we checked in. So many red flags. Don't make the mistake of booking this motel even if it's just for the convenience of walking distance to downtown. Miserable experience for an...

The lady and her family that owns the motel is absolutely amazing and very professional.. My son and I both have severe Asthma and it is impossible to find a motel that don’t allow pets anymore. I am on 5 medication daily for my asthma my son is on medication also daily for asthma but we are still very sensitive. All dogs and animals trigger our asthma and when someone sneaks in a dog or cat or smokes in a room it makes us very sick and sometimes we have to go to the E.R. to get Steroids. The owner put an Ozone cleaning in our room before incase someone would sneak a a pet in or smoked in the room before our arrival, this purified and sterilized the air in the room. The owner was so accommodating too all our medical needs as well as just general needs. This is a wonderful place to stay. It is so hard to find motels that don’t allow pets because they basically all do now and it makes it very difficult for us to travel. I love animals I just can’t be around then because even with daily meditation I still have triggers. The owner was so understanding and really accommodating us. We are so grateful. for her being so caring. The pool is nice and clean. Bathrooms are spotless. Air conditioning in new. I am a women traveling alone with my son and staying here currently and I feel very safe here in this motel, The passes to Mt. Olympus are also nice to have. I have already recommended to some people back home that I know who would like to stay here. I will definitely come back when we come back to the Dells. Please stay here when you visit the dells The lady and her family are very welcoming and make you feel at home,. They are also honest and upfront. Before booking she let me know if you pay with a credit card there is a fee so she said ai can pay cash for no fee when checking in. I appreciate that. She does a great job and so does the staffs well. Fresh coffee in the morning is available. The Mom of the lady works there with them and she is a very sweet and warm lady..
